How to interpret universal results?
-
Hi
After adding some keywords to our new campaign for www.vayamundo.be/nl, the keyword "Vayamundo" ranked +51, which is strange.
I then found this little marker in the universal results column which says:
Universal Result: Local
Contains: 3 results
- Vayamundo Ol Fosse d'Outh
http://www.vayamundo.be/ - Vayamundo
http://www.vayamundo.be/ - Zumba Oostende in Vayamundo Ravelingen
https://www.zumba-oostende.be/

Learn more about universal resultsI clicked the two links, but still do not understand how to interpret this universal result.
Why was it labeled a universal result to begin with?
Can somebody help me out?
Thanks in advance.
Greetings
Jorien

Hi Matt
Thank you so much for your response, this is a great first step for us.
I will not hesitate to contact you again in the future.
For now, I think we will upgrade our knowledge via the links and articles you gave us.
Thanks again and have a great holiday season!

Hi Joeri!
What that means is that your site is coming up in the local 3-pack rather than as a standard result.
Take this SERP for the key phrase "coffee seattle," for example. I've added a red box around the local results. They're more based on your local SEO than on traditional SEO, and different things factor into ranking there. SEJ has a post that may help here.
Does that help at all?

How to interpret search "clicks" in GA?
I am trying to make some sense of the data in the "Landing Pages" report under "Search Engine Optimization" in GA versus the data under the "Landing Pages" report in "Behavior | Site Content". For example, the SEO report says my page http://www.asiantraveltips.com/blog/bangkok-skytrain-bts-mrt-lines/ received 22,000 search impressions in the past 30 days and 900 "clicks" (12.42%). What are these "clicks" when the Content "Landing Pages" report says the same page only got 382 "sessions" in the same period??? What are these "clicks" if not clicks on the search results link that should be reflected in landing page sessions on the corresponding page?

Self-Reffering Traffic After upgrading to Universal Analytics
Backstory: We have always had an issue with self-referring traffic but in waiting for the UA upgrade we put it on the backburner for getting fixed. We have now upgraded to UA and I was under the impression that GA would automatically exclude the domain associated with a property as a referral source. However this is not what I am seeing under my referral traffic source. With 10 websites having issues with this I need some help. Should I use the referral exclusion list? Also on a handful of our sites we have region specific URLs, I am also seeing these come in as self-referring traffic. I should also mention that about 85% of our sales are being attributed to the self-referring traffic. Here are two sites for example sake: ZootSports.com and K2snowboarding.com

Ecommerce data in universal analytics
Does any have the same issue. We are tracking e-commerce data in GA universal. We are finding that sales are being recorded on the day of the sale and again a few days later. It does only seem to be 1 or 2 sales that do this not all. Does anyone have any suggestions? Much appreciated. David

sessions end after 30 minutes and campaigns end after 6 months ) is it okay if i don't change this settings? As of now in my analytic i have configured google adwords, google webmaster and google merchant. In analytic i have also set custom alerts, goals, funnels, enchance link attribution, eCommerce etc but google analytics code i have already added in google tag manager, so i have to some manual changes for all such things? or all the things i.e goals, funnel, alerts etc will be transferred automatically at time of transferring the property? Also at thank you page of my website I have scripts for goal setting, Affiliator, so there is no relation of this with migration right? Kind co-operation in the matter of highly be appreciated. So please help me! Regards,

How long after a redirect should we see results?
In mid September we had to so some redirects from old URL's to new URL's. We haven't seen a significant jump in traffic so we are wondering how long this might take before we see a change. We are the brand so we should be getting some sort of authority from Google, yes? Any tips that can be offered would be grateful as we are stumped.

AXIS plugin & SSL Search providing "not provided" results
Hi, Does anyone know if the Axis plugin by Yahoo will generate the infamous "not provided" results in reporting? Or is it dependent on what browser the plugin is used on? Thank you Bonnie

Interpreting Keyword Difficulty Tool results
I have been running various reports using the Keyword Difficulty tool. The columns are color coded - are there one set of signals that are more important than others? I am trying to analylze why we are ranking where we are and where our competitors are weak enough to overcome in a short term. I cannot seem to find a formula for the top indicatators for moving up in ranking. One of my sites in ranking number 5 but is neck and neck with the number one site for results. The other site is number 6 for the same term but has virtually no strength in the data like links, mozrank, trust, Social, etc...The sites 7-10 are much stronger on data. Maybe since they are from the same C block that helps? Any advice or experience would be helpful.
