Multiple Anchor text Links to 1 Page
-
Hi,
Currently we have this page on our site - http://www.highstreetvouchers.com/gift-vouchers/gift-vouchers-cards.jsp
It contains both "Gift Vouchers " & "Gift Cards" content which are 2 keywords we are targeting for. Currently the top nav link anchor is "Gift Vouchers & Gift Cards"
If we were to change the top nav to be "Gift Vouchers" & "Gift Cards" as different tabs, both linking to the same page, what might be the SEO consequences?
thanks

There is no SEO benefit to have multiple internal links on a single page which have the same target page.
When Google crawls your site, they will take the first link they find and associate the anchor text they find with that link. Any other links to the same page would be disregarded.
If we were to change the top nav to be "Gift Vouchers" & "Gift Cards" as different tabs, both linking to the same page, what might be the SEO consequences?
Presently the value of your link's weight is given to the phrase "Gift Vouchers & Gift Cards". If you make the split and Google sees the "Gift Cards" link first, then your page will be seen as more relevant to "Gift Cards" and less relevant to "Gift Vouchers".

Found hidden pages of outbound links created via ex-SEO consultant. Best way to detect other possible problems?
We paid for an SEO contract in addition to our new website design (same company did both) and after 12 months cancelled the SEO. I have been very suspicious ever since of our bad page rank and general lack of traffic (despite my efforts) and today found a hidden page of outbound links. Currently in shock that this happened although my own fault for lack of due diligence. The SEO consultants were very unhappy that I cancelled the contract so I am worried about the extent of bad links or negative google juice they may have created (god knows what else they may have done). So my questions are: How can I detect any other (potentially hidden) problems? How can I recover from this - any right/wrong way to approach google? What is the best way to bring this up with the SEO consultants? Thank you in advance.

Issue: Duplicate Page Content
For pro members: Is there a way to see exactly what "it" is that is duplicate? Also, what % of duplicate content is required to be labeled as dupped. Much thanks, Chenzo

Too Many On-Page Links: Crawl Diag vs On-Page
I've got a site I'm optimizing that has thousands of 'too many links on-page' warnings from the SeoMoz crawl diagnostic. I've been in there and realized that there are indeed, the rent is too damned high, and it's due to a header/left/footer category menu that's repeating itself. So I changed these links to NoFollow, cutting my total links by about 50 per page. I was too impatient to wait for a new crawl, so I used the On Page Reports to see if anything would come up on the Internal Link Count/External Link Count factors, and nothing did. However, the crawl (eventually) came back with the same warning. I looked at the link Count in the crawl details, and realized that it's basically counting every single '<a href'="" on="" the="" page.="" because="" of="" this,="" i="" guess="" my="" questions="" are="" twofold:<="" p=""></a> <a href'="" on="" the="" page.="" because="" of="" this,="" i="" guess="" my="" questions="" are="" twofold:<="" p="">1. Is no-follow a valid strategy to reduce link count for a page? (Obviously not for SeoMoz crawler, but for Google)</a> <a href'="" on="" the="" page.="" because="" of="" this,="" i="" guess="" my="" questions="" are="" twofold:<="" p="">2. What metric does the On-Page Report use to determine if there are too many Internal/External links? Apologies if this has been asked, the search didn't seem to come up with anything specific to this.</a>

Why doesn't the BBB / Trustlink.org links show up in the Link Analysis?
I am curious why one of my client's main competitors (www.allbayhardwood.com) shows links from the Better Business Bureau and Trustlink.org (associated with BBB) but links from those sources do not show up for his domain (www.sanjosehardwoodfloors.com). He has been a BBB Acredited Business since 12/2010 and on file with them for probably as long as they have had the online version, which seems like plenty of time for the link to have been picked up. BBB has a very nice domain authority and it would be great to see these links show up. (they don't show up in webmaster tools either) Is there something I am missing? Thanks in advance guys and gals! (I know the site has other SEO issues - just getting started on pounding everything out.)
