How to set goal in Google Analytics that required specific page
-
So our company has new page that has just implemented (let say "page x" --> not a landing page) and we want to see how many visitors that through "page x " convert into the goal (let say "page y"). If I just make the goal destination like "/page y" the goal number that appear is ALL the visitors who reach "page y" (through or not through "page x"), so how I set the goal setting to only show the visitors who reach "page y" through "page x" ? Thank you

Hi
If you are trying to build a funnel with a specific page that must be visited before reaching the destination page please see the attached screenshot of how to do this.
Just turn on funnels when you build a goal add your page x URL and make it required.
Here is more on this from Google - https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1116091?hl=en
specifically - "When you create a destination goal, you also have the option to create funnel for that goal. A funnel is a sequence of pages that you anticipate users seeing before they reach the goal. Report data for the funnel appears in the funnel_Visualization_ report."
Hope this helps!
Matt

You could create a segment that contains only people that have visited page x. If you define your goal as all people who have reached page y and you filter to show only the segment you will see only the conversions for those who first went to x and then somehow came to page y.

How do I exclude fake direct load traffic from networks in Google Analytics?
Starting on Friday 1/20, we noticed a huge, unnatural spike in Direct Load traffic. While researching where it was coming from, the big flags were huge spikes in countries that normally only have <5 sessions a month like Russia, Singapore, Brazil, etc., each sending 1400 a week, with >99% bounce rate and <0:00:05 average session duration. While looking into networks, we saw an influx in Networks that had never sent traffic before, each with >1300 sessions a week, 100% bounce rate, and 0:00:00 session duration. The list of these Networks are: astute hosting usa incorporated

Setting up Google Analytics default URL
If someone has set: the default url in Google Analytics to a non-www address (http://mysite.com) then placed the UA tracking script from that GA account within the CMS framework of the website... ... and then set the permanent 301 redirect in the htaccess file to redirect to the www address (http://www.mysite.com). How less accurrate will my GA analytics measurements be considering the default url within GA is non-www and the permanent 301 redirect in htacess is to the www-address? Anyone know how reliable GA reports are until the default url in GA analytics is changed to match what is the redirected url in htaccess file? _Cindy
