Different URL structure Desktop VS Mobile Regarding SEO when building a new seperate mobile site
-
Hi
I have a old OScommerce webshop, that i will keep for now, but i have build a complete new mobile site for mobile devices, but it has another url structure. Can i launch this site without any problems when its Google Mobile Search Engine that index the mobile site, and then just make the neccesary rel alternate tags for the desktop site for the product pages and main categories that i can. There will be some differences in the urls i cant make a alternate for.

You can definitely build your new mobile site with a different structure than your old OScommerce site, just make sure that your desktop site has an alternate tag pointing to your new site. I'd also recommend adding canonicals to your old mobile URLs pointing to the new versions; that'll allow you to keep the old mobile site alive, but stop Google from showing it in its index.
Hope this helps!

I am the web developer. And I do know about those different methods, but it would be to much work to make all alternate url for the new site, when it does not match the old OScommerce site at all. Im building a seperate mobile site like m.myaddress.com. Are there anything i can doo.

Hi there
Google actually provides a pretty indepth resource around mobile SEO and separate URL structures. I would not launch a site without making sure that everything is in place for your mobile site and proper tags are in place. Google and other search engines take mobile very seriously and they expect web developers and their websites are doing the same.
Pass along these resources to your web development team and prioritize actions so that you can get your site launched correctly and avoid issues down the road.
Hope this helps! Good luck!

SEO audit for ccTLD sites
Hi.
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | SEOSanna
My customer has sites with Country code TLDs (e.g. https://sample.fr, https://sample.fi and https://sample.en) and I'm supposed to perform SEO audit for them. Is there any way to perform audit at the same time for all versions? Can I perform audit e.g. just for https://sample or do I have to run every .fr, .fi and .en separately in multiple tools I use? Thanks much in advance!0 -
What is the best way to structure website URLs ?
Hi, can anyone help me to understand if having category folder in URL matters or not? how to google treat a URL? for example, I have the URL www.protoexpress.com/pcb/certification but not sure google will treat it a whole or in separate parts? if in separate parts, is it safe to use pcb/pcb-certification? or it will be considered as keyword stuffing? Thank you in anticipation,

SEO - Massive duplication of same page, but different link.
Hi!
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | jennisprints
I'm dealing with a big client who's site has a big (approx. 39 000) duplication of the "same" page (same content) but each page has a different URL. The duplicated page is a "become a member"-page.
I've checked the backlinks in Google Search Console and there are no sites linking to any of the duplicated pages.
The developers have no clue where or how the pages came to be duplicated, but my guess is that every time a new customer sets up an account the page becomes duplicated. The customer want us to just remove the pages and sort out the duplication, but removing the pages might cause a big drop in back links/traffic and what not. I would much rather redirect the duplicated pages to the original page, but given that there are 39 000 pages it might mess with the site speed. Looking for ideas and suggestions of what the next step should be, remove or redirect.
Thanks so much!0 -
When the site's entire URL structure changed, should we update the inbound links built pointing to the old URLs?
We're changing our website's URL structures, this means all our site URLs will be changed. After this is done, do we need to update the old inbound external links to point to the new URLs? Yes the old URLs will be 301 redirected to the new URLs too. Many thanks!

Need references to a company that can transition our 1000 page website from Http to Https without breaking our SEO backlinks and site structure
Hi Ya'll I'm looking for a company or independent who can transition our website from http to https. I want to make sure they know what they're doing with a Wordpress website. More importantly, i want to make sure they don't break any seo juice from external sources while internally nothing gets broken. Anyone have any good recommendations? You can reply back or DM me. Best, Shawn

New Site Launch - Redirecting Hundreds of Old Invalid URLs?
We have a client whose WMT shows a ton of "Not found" crawl errors after a new site launched. The URLs are largely a bunch of files that they had previously uploaded on their old site which have external links pointing at them. What is their best course of action, if they don't have files on the new site that correspond with these old files? Redirect to the home page? Leave them 404ing? Customize 404 message? (Note: They're mostly generic, non-human friendly URLs that are difficult to identify like /gallery3.php/ppage/3, g/interior.php/pid/3/sid/24, /uploads/1213196781.pdf)

Mobile SEO vs. normal SEO?
Hi everyone, I wanted to ask you abour your opinon on mobile SEO. Do we already have two different Indices, one for mobile, one for desktop? Except a few mobile listings I don't see a difference yet. If yes, do I need to do special mobile SEO for my site or is it enough to have e.g. a responsive webdesign which detects the device and shows a different page? Are there any other extra Mobile SEO measures that should be considered? I know of the Mobile Sitemap and directories but is there anything else? Best regards
