I have 2 linking root domains on my URL. But I don't get the whole Root domain thing. So I don't understand how I can improve it?
I copy and pasted this, from my Links page in my campaign because I can't seem to grasp what a root domain is:
'A higher number of good quality linking root domains improves a page's ranking potential'.
Can some one explain to me what this is. As simply as possible.

Let's say Moz links to your site 5 times. That's 5 links but 1 "root domain" (moz.com)
Now, NY Times links to you ... 1000 times. That's 1005 links and 2 "root domains" - moz.com and nytimes.com
A root domain is just a domain that links to you - the first link from each domain seems to count more so the more root domains you have is better (rather than the number of backlinks total.)
To put it another way, you'd rather have 20 backlinks from 20 separate root domains than you would to have a sitewide link from 1 domain even though that may be thousands of backlinks.

Hi I have a question about inbound external links The good news is that I have 135 inbound links showing up in open site explorer, where my main competitor has 4 The bad news is that these are not the links that I have been building myself. Massive drop in linking domains - please advise!
Hi guys! Our site www.carwow.co.uk appears to have been punched in the face by the latest Moz update. It's claiming our #linking root domains has dropped from 225 to 135 and has subsequently hit our DA from 38 to 35. We haven't disavowed any links and our off-site strategy has been going well the past 2 months. Search performance has increased by around 15% (around 5k sessions) and rankings have improved week on week. Any idea if this is a Moz error? That's almost a 50% drop in linking root domains. Why is my domain not being crawled anymore?
I just noticed that right around 12/1/2012, SEOMoz stopped crawling all but two pages out of the 400 or so on my website at www.TrustworthyCare.com . I speculate that this is probably due to some dumb mistake I made at that time, but I can't for the life of me figure out what that mistake was. Before that, the weekly crawls included all 400 or so pages. I wonder whether it's something that changed in our .htaccess file. Here's how that file looks now; can anyone see what is wrong there, or perhaps offer other suggestions if it doesn't look like anything is wrong in it? Thanks! Why don't Google+ URL's work in OSE?
Is there any reason why Google+ URLs does not work in OSE? Is it just that it is a secure URL or is there something bigger there? Why? Be cool to determine every website the person has been published on; especially if it is rel="author" verified. Jeff

I'm trying to get 'tigi bed head' up most of all...
I'm 87th ish with this term and I don't know why?! crap result I know.
