Why is my page ranking lower when my moz stats are higher?
-
There are several keywords that I search for and I notice we rank lower than a couple of competitors. When I use the mozbar and view the stats, I see that are PA and DA are higher and in some instances the ones who rank higher don't even show all the keywords in their meta descriptions. If this is the case, how are they still ranking higher?
-
Using the Moz bar I know that I am doing those technical SEO pieces much better than they are. All of the reasonable explanations seem to go in my favor. Just still confused.

And lets not forget other on-page optimization tactics such us:
meta title, heading 1, heading 2, correct keyword in relation to the text, page load, distance from home page, url structure!
just imagine how many more exist which we do not know about..

Yeah it is definitely a debate in the world of SEO. I tend to lean toward AJ John's opinion. http://www.blindfiveyearold.com/is-click-through-rate-a-ranking-signal

Cody,
Thanks for the response. I read that CTR doesn't effect SEO. Below is an article that recently read on the subject as well. Do you disagree? I am new to SEO and still learning, so would love to gain insight.

First off, meta descriptions don't affect your ranking in the SERPs. They DO however contribute to CTR (i.e if you see what you are searching for in the meta description, you are more inclined to click it).
There could be a few things contributing to the other sites ranking higher than you.
1. Site Age: Even if you have more links pointing to your site and a higher DA, site age could be contributing to your lower ranking.
2. Click Through Rate: The click through rate on the site above your site could be higher. You might even have a higher bounce rate.
I would also make sure you are effectively using internal linking on the pages that aren't ranking as well as you'd like.

Ahrefs vs Moz
Hi! I noticed the Moz DA en the Ahrefs DA are very different. Where https://www.123opzeggen.nl/ has a DA of 10 at MOZ, the DA at Ahrefs is 26. Where does this big difference come from? Do you measure in different ways? I hope you can answer this question for me. Thank you in advance!

HTTPS Move and Moz Campaign
We moved our site over to HTTPS this week and I was wondering if I need to create a new Moz campaign? I'm aware you can't change a website address in an existing Moz campaign, however the website listed in the current campaign contains no http//www. and seems to only be entered as example.com. Anyone have a suggestion for this?

Page authority questions?
I've been analyzing some IT communities ...in order to check how relevant is the page authority vs PageRank. I found one main site which is organized by "communities'..and every community is a sub-domain. The root domain has an authority of 90/100 which it should be great......so the sub-domains "inherit" part of this authority.... Until here everything seems to be perfect. However, I went deeper and I picked one of these communities. Analyzing the "Linking Root Domain" I discovered it only has only 5 root domains pointing to its home page. Those 5 Root Domains have generated more than 134k links. That doesn't seem to be "natural". Checking those 5 Root Domains I discovered that they have been registered by the same Root Domain site. Ex: Main domain: Domain.com Community1.domain.com Community2.domain.com.... Linking Root Domains: DomainXY.com DomainABC.com DomainRST.com DomainFGH.com DomainOPQ.com It seems to me that it is easy to cheat the authority domain score. Just creating others sites developing the same topic and generating back links to your main domain

SEO moz poor rankings reporting
How are we supposed to send ranking reports to clients if the rankings are constantly reporting false metrics This is not the first time this has happened, but the rankings are WAAAAAAY off. What is the point of reporting rankings that are not accurate? What is the possible cause of this. Is there a solution? What is SEOmoz doing to improve their ranking programs. Our client actually ranked #2 for "northern Virginia HVAC contractors" when moz had us not in the top 50! How are we supposed to bank on information that is so consistently unreliable? northernvirginiahvaccontractors.png northernvirginiahvaccontractorsrank.png

Is it possible to see rankings on a graph?
Would it be possible to display Ranking data on a graph to show progress over a period of time? It would be great to be able to show a client how a certain keyword has improved over a time period.
