I have mainly very short customer review comments. Shall I only publish longer ones?
-
Our customer reviews of products are mainly very short and many times not fully formulated sentences.
Would you recommend to just publish the longer comments?
I am concerned about googles evaluation of the quality of the page content.
-
You may add some questions or suggestions before the textarea in order to help users to post longer reviews :
what you love? on the contrary, what has displeased you? Would you recommend the site / product to a friend? Have you been satisfied with the packaging, delivery ... -
Yes, you're right but when you say short are they just based on few words. I am sure Google would also consider the proporation of each side thin and the details ones.
If most of reviews are just few words, off course you dont want to publish them before even it reach to google not only for Google but for your impression. As these mostly be consider as self created reviews.
I would say be a selective in this regards. Mixture can work -
they are all genuine. but due to way it was asked answers are mainyl very short.
I remember back when searchengineland.com was hit by panda, that John Mueller mentioned that short comments could be considered by google as not too useful.

Hi
I think, it does not matter as long as reviews are from customer and genuine ones. I reckon do not publish by yourself, ask your customer if they are happy with your service to leave reviews for yourselves.
In the case of reviews posting from same IP can or system can potentially raise red flag for your business and Google may can remove your reviews.

My Search Rankings Are In FreeFall Since Last One Month. Should I Be Worried?
My site www.midigital.co until the 10th of December, 2015 was ranking more or less in the top 10 for 92 Keywords most of them 1 word and 2 word, built upon over 10 years of SEO and optimization (all ethical). Since that time however it's like Google's decided that we didn't belong there and all the rankings are in free fall. The only change was that we updated our Wordpress Version. Nothing else was changed. Links were same as always. My organic traffic figures have fallen 99%, many KWs have been buried beyond 51+ and because of that client's queries we got have virtually disappeared. PPC helps but it's not Organic. Should I be Worried or is it just more Google Dance?

Shall I change duplicated product descriptions if I am top ranking result and was first to publish it?
about 20% of total 500 products in our shop have a manufacturer product description, which appears repeatedly on maybe 10 other sites and also on ebay and amazon. Issue is just with our own brand. We have another brand website where we publish the same product descriptions as well (google knows that we own both sites). The product description was first published on shop website before anywhere else and we are ranking number one for the product despite quite strong competition and we outrank our brand website as well. Which of the following options would you opt for? keeping the description and just adding some unique content replacing the complete product description by a new one

Structure: Should an eCommerce blog have main menu links to each of the store category pages?
Hi, Should my eCommerce site's blog have menu links to the store's category pages? (like in the store itself) The meaning is that every blog post page will have links to category pages that are not related and probably weakens the in-text relevant links. The other option is to have menu links only to the blog category pages and in-article links to the relevant store category pages (maybe add menu button "Go to Store"). Thanks

What keywords should my main page contain ?
Hello. I have a domain with scripts and components for websites, each product page is somehow different and contains different phrases and keywords, for example: a) Flash Photo Gallery
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | adrianTNT
b) JavaScript Menu
c) Flash Menu
d) PHP Rating Script
e) PHP Poll script It's kind of clear for me how to optimize keywords on these pages individually, but what would be best content / terms / keywords to use on my main page and main page title and anchor text to my root domain? Should it be a mix of all these keywords mentioned above ? Or is it better to be a general term like "website scripts" ?0 -
Will authorship for a reviewer, not an author work?
I'm working with a client that owns a medical site. All content is reviewed by someone from their medical board (doctors or nurses), but the content is written by a variety of authors. I'm wondering if we could create authorship profiles for the doctors and nurses. Would there be any problem with that? (even though they didn't write the content, they just reviewed it for medical accuracy). The name of the reviewer is included on every article. Any thoughts / feedback / similar experiences would be helpful.

BIG CHANGE - 301 Main site to new domain
Hi Guys, Were wondering what to do about our main domain name, we were ranking quite high for our main keyword and before Christmas our site dropped to 10th and we have been there for a while - last week our site dropped again onto the second page. The worrying thing is now our main domain name is now ranking 1 place above another domain name that we don't really use but its an exact match domain name for our target keyword. This exact match domain has hardly any links pointing to it and it currently has a 22 domain authority. We are wondering if we 301 our main site to this exact match domain would it rank higher than the top of the 2nd page where we are now for our main domain. Cheers.

Using microformatting for multiple online review source
I sat in on the Microformats & Schema.org – Real life Use Cases webcast today. Thank you for providing that helpful information. This discussion question is related to microformat in relation to online reviews: I work for a local auto dealership group. Each of our dozen+ dealers have reviews on Google, dealerrater, cars.com, edmunds, etc. Is there a SEO benefit to compiling online reviews from multiple sources mentioned above into our site in a microformat (knowing the reviews existed elsewhere) or would we have to use a third party tool such as Bazaarvoice & capture our reviews through there? Have any of you pulled reviews from various sources onto your site & used the microformatting technique? If so, what was the outcome? Thanks
