Yoast local landing...posts?

Hey Moz squad.
I do some seo work for a multi location locksmith and garage door service.
On our locksmith website - We just use regular word press landing pages for all of our different city cities.
(btw if anyone has a good site architecture tips blog they know about, Send it my way!)
So with our Garage door site, we bought the yoast local plugin. And it wants to make our locations Blog posts instead of pages.
NOW what do you guys think. Does it matter? I know I have less control on how a blog post looks. But I'm just looking for different opinions. Thanks loves.

What I can get from your question is whether to use blog posts or pages.
Strictly there is no difference. In my opinion I'd stay with the option that suits you the best.The SEO optimization can be as good for blog posts or pages.

That seems like a bit of a strange suggestion. The thing about Yoast is that it's great and powerful but it can't really be used as a task list. Rather than seeing the items as "it's on the list so I have to do it", see them more as an indicator of "I should investigate that, it might need to be fixed.
Focus more on the UX here - would changing the landing pages to blog posts improve the user experience? Chances are the answer is no so I'd just stick with your current configuration.

Hi, we are in the process of building a new website and we have 12 different locations and for theses 12 locations we have landing pages with unique copy on the following: 1. Marketing...2 SEO....3. PPC....4. Web Design Therefor there are 48 landing pages. The marketing pages are the most important ones to us in terms of traffic and priority. My question is: 1. Should we put a dropdown of the are pages in the main header under locations that link to the area marketing pages? 2. What is the best way to link all the sub pages such as London Web Design? YOAST Premium extensions vs Yoast SEO Free?
Considering buying the Yoast Premium extensions (or perhaps whole bundle) but trying to weigh up if its worth it or if the free version is comprehensive enough to do the job? Obviously paid has more features but is it worth the price tag? (I have 4 different websites) If anyone has a paid version of Yoast Premium pack and seen improvements with rankings, mark ups in google etc I would appreciate hearing your story! Effect of Publishing Blog Posts Resembling Classified Advertisements
Our site (www.nyc-officespace-leader.com) markets commercial real estate for lease in New York City. Any potential negative impact in terms of ranking and traffic by using our blog post in an unconventional manner? I am considering publishing a weekly post describing the latest commercial listings for lease. The post would be formatted and resemble classified advertising appearing in such newspapers as The New York Times. The ads are concise and appealing. Property listings drive a high click thru rate, so I believe blogs posts based on property listings and formatted like old newspaper ads might really improve visitor engagement. Each add could have a link to a corresponding listing page. Would using the blog in this manner every week have a detrimental effect or could prove beneficial? Thoughts??? lr6MIiR

What's the best possible URL structure for a local search engine?
Hi Mozzers, I'm working at AskMe.com which is a local search engine in India i.e if you're standing somewhere & looking for the pizza joints nearby, we pick your current location and share the list of pizza outlets nearby along with ratings, reviews etc. about these outlets. Right now, our URL structure looks like www.askme.com/delhi/pizza-outlets for the city specific category pages (here, "Delhi" is the city name and "Pizza Outlets" is the category) and www.askme.com/delhi/pizza-outlets/in/saket for a category page in a particular area (here "Saket") in a city. The URL looks a little different if you're searching for something which is not a category (or not mapped to a category, in which case we 301 redirect you to the category page), it looks like www.askme.com/delhi/search/pizza-huts/in/saket if you're searching for pizza huts in Saket, Delhi as "pizza huts" is neither a category nor its mapped to any category. We're also dealing in ads & deals along with our very own e-commerce brand AskMeBazaar.com to make the better user experience and one stop shop for our customers. Now, we're working on URL restructure project and my question to you all SEO rockstars is, what can be the best possible URL structure we can have? Assume, we have kick-ass developers who can manage any given URL structure at backend.

What do you think of this post? An ordered article or not???
Hi, Just encountered the following article on Digital Trends: http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/lg-z-rumored/ This is a huge and respected site. Notice, that whenever the word "smartphone" or "smartphones" is mentioned, there is a link to Sprint. Needless to say that Sprint has nothing to do directly with the article's subject (a new LG smartphone that may be coming soon). So, is this an ordered piece? Is this legit? Does it assist Sprint with the article that is not really related? Should I pursue these type of articles (links) for my site or only HUGE companies can get away with it? Any thoughts?

Posting same video on both Vimeo and Youtube
A client likes the control of Vimeo Pro for embedding videos on site, but for search purposes would like to create a YouTube channel with the same videos, perhaps with altered titles and descriptions. Real Estate Local SEO
My site hovers on page 2 of google for the key search phrase. I have a blog that gets updated often, I have genuine links coming in, I promote on all social media channels, I do email campaigns, I have a site map, I have my local address on what I believe are the most important sites like Yelp, Manta, Google Local etc. All this and my site is still on page 2 while other sites with less of everything are on page 1. What is missing?
