How does Google Local Insights report impressions for multiple mappack listings (same company) showing up for one query?
-
I had a client ask me a difficult question about impression reporting via Google Local Insights. Lets say a client is a popular ice cream chain and somebody does a local brand search for "San Francisco Exotic Tasty Ice" and three locations for the same company all show up in the Google Local Pack. Does each one of these locations receive their own impression via Google Local Insights? Or does Google just count this as one impression for one location altogether?
Logically speaking I would think that each location would get its own impression in the insights report. However I'm wondering if there is anything to negate that.
Any feedback is appreciated.

Also, although not directly related to your question, this was a really helpful article to get to the bottom of how GMB insight metrics are calculated.

Hi Rosemary,
Each business listing will accrue 1 impression each, totaling 3 impressions in your example, even if you're looking at all of them combined in the insights report. At present, there's no way of negating this which is a bit of a frustration. I'm hoping they release a more stable reporting API so that this data can be drilled down further in future.
The same can be said for the 'view photos' action for business listings - if a knowledge graph/maps listing shows, this will also count 1 'view photos' action in GMB insights, even if the user has not actually looked at business photos. This will continue to accrue +1 photo view for each time they look at the next photo.
I hope this helps.

Google Listing Doesn't Appeare on 3Pack anymore
Hi, One of my GMB listing suddenly stopped ranking in the 3Pack Results. It used to always rank in 1st or 2nd position in the 3Pack results, Suddenly since 24th May it completely Flatlined, I don't know why but It doesn't show up in the results, or when I click see more. It completely vanished for that term locally. My Listing is based in Brisbane, QLD, Australia and it doesn't show up for that term in The Brisbane area. But when the Location info is Australia and not Brisbane, Australia it shows up again. I don't know what is the problem in this case... Any Suggestions will be much appreciated.

Google my business: How "Listing on Maps" are calculated? They are too high for us!
Hi Moz community, Our business listing on Google show some unbelievable statistics. According to their insights, we have 21K "Listing on Maps" and 1K "Listing on Search". This is impossible. Have you ever faced this? How these are calculated? There is no way that our business will be searched 20 times more on maps than usual search. Please clarify. Thanks

Can you manage multiple department store hours showing up in a GMB knowledge card?
Recently one our clients noticed that their GMB knowledge card is showing multiple opening hour sets for different departments. Is there anyway to directly influence these results? We know schematic markup helps but are there any other options to manage these different department hours? Thanks

Are there any services like Moz Local for Canada?
Was wondering if there would be a way to simplify getting NAP data out there and consistent for a business in Canada like we have here in the US with Moz Local? If not, are there specific sites besides Yellow Pages Group and the government site (ic.gc.ca) to submit their information? I'm sure Yelp, Facebook, Google, Bing, Yahoo, and all the usuals...but where else?

Help tracking phone number calls from Google Plus & Yahoo Local
Hi, I own a business in United States and serving multiple locations around US. I have listings for all my locations in Google Business as well as in Yahoo Local. To track the phone calls that are made through Google & Yahoo, I have provided a 2 different phone numbers in these listings in order to track it effectively. Recently, I read that even the tracking phone numbers will rise an inconsistent NAP in Google local ranking factors. If such is the case, how can can effectively track the phone calls separately from these business listing? Does anyone have any better idea for this? Thank you,
