What is a good benchmark social share rate? Does a benchmark exist?
For instance, on a Zillow home profile, what % of people share that home listing on social media? Or on a NY Times article, what % of people share that article on social media?

I don't think any benchmark exists. Obviously, a lot more people look at a New York Times article, at least the writer hopes so, then look at an individual home for sale.
In addition, who's the audience? A NYT article that appeals to a social media savvy audience will have more shares than an article geared towards a less social audience. Same with your home for sale. Is it in Palo Alto or Bozeman, Montana?
Any benchmark would be useless.

I am fully implementing facebook, twitter, youtube, and pinterest. I am starting to use Google +. How much is enough when it comes to Social Media?
I have attended a number of social media webinars with tips on getting the most out of Facebook and Twitter. Now, I would like opinions from someone who is not trying to sell me something. We post 2 daily blog articles to our Facebook company page which auto re-posts to Twitter every day. Is that enough, or is it necessary to hire someone to engage people with additional conversation? If your answer is that additional conversation is needed, are there any companies or individuals that you recommend to provide these services at a reasonable cost?
