Please take a look at my keyword usage
-
Hi All,
Traffic to few pages of my site is dipping from last couple of months. When I analyzed one of the web page (http://ow.ly/IEkt307dfNr) in Moz tools, it is warning that the keyword "dance classes" is used excessively in the page (30+ times). But, it is used in genuine manner; because that page is a listing page of "dance class teachers" who provide the service, we added "dance classes" under each of the provider. It helps users to connect with the teach easily.
Is this okay or will it fall under keyword stuffing? Should I change something?

Hi There,
I do agree with Martijn that this does not appear to be keyword stuffing of the content, I do not think this would cause any issues.
However, I did notice that the meta keywords tag is extremely over-optimized, this could be considered keyword stuffing/spamming. The meta keywords tag does not provide any value, major search engines abandoned it as a ranking factor years ago. However, it is possible this is sending spam signals. Google states that they ignore the meta keywords tag, but Bing has acknowledged that they review this tag as a spam signal.
I noticed that many pages contain meta keyword tags that are fairly 'stuffed', I would recommend removing these or significantly decreasing the keyword usage in these tags.

Thanks for the information

Mwah, this is just a personal opinion. But I would say for now you should be able to get away with this. Sometimes the information provided for a dance class provider isn't that much but overall it doesn't harm the page.
What I would look into for the long run though is the fact that you have these footer links that look a bit spammy: http://take.ms/jN6tJ

They wanted to hire someone to find the problem, but I thought I would reach out to you guys, first, to at least try and narrow down the long list of things we could look at/investigate. I put the info (briefly) on 3 slides, and would really appreciate any and all insights you can offer me: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/12d0YH7BNdCIpJ86d95uBOtOWphWQ3NB1kwDYeOzIt-U/edit#slide=id.g19145c9fa5_0_0 Thank you in advance!

Keyword Phrase in URL structure
Wondered the best URL structure, to include a major keyword phrase. Our clients' case is that their domain name is not the main keyword. So should we include the keyword phrase in the URL structure to list all their office locations: A - www.website.com/anxiety-treatment/denver/1001

or
B - www.website.com/denver/1001 Would this be considered keyword stuffing? We'd like "A" above to rank for keyword phrases related to "anxiety treatment denver", etc.0 -
In the middle of a site redesign, looking for some advice at a glance.
Greetings, hope you're doing awesome today! I have a current client in an industry niche, I got them to do a site redesign, based on the many factors needing correction on the current site. I have a good 40 some items still to address, from my frequent manual site audit / proofreading. Reason I am here, is that I'm seeking fresh eyes to address anything I may have missed, of course at a glance, I don't expect a site audit, but do have some concerns about url structure and page titles as you move from category to category. It's a bigcommerce site, so some things that are normal SEO actions aren't as simply implemented. Also, since this is a client, and I'm sure they have competitors using sites like this, I need to keep the url private as well as any specifics, of course for readers in the future, I can or you can mention general issues and solutions. Thank you and please, if interested, will send url at request, can send both the live and dev urls.

Inurl: search shows results without keyword in URL
Hi there, While doing some research on the indexation status of a client I ran into something unexpected. I have my hypothesis on what might be happing, but would like a second opinion on this. The query 'site:example.org inurl:index.php' returns about 18.000 results. However, when I hover my mouse of these results, no index.php shows up in the URL. So, Google seems to think these (then duplicate content) URLs still exist, but a 301 has changed the actual goal URL? A similar things happens for inurl:page. In fact, all the 'index.php' and 'page' parameters were removed over a year back, so there in fact shouldn't be any of those left in the index by now. The dates next to the search results are 2005, 2008, etc. (i.e. far before 2013). These dates accurately reflect the times these forums topic were created. Long story short: are these ~30.000 'phantom URLs' in the index out of total of ~100.000 indexed pages hurting the search rankings in some way? What do you suggest to get them out? Submitting a 100% coverage sitemap (just a few days back) doesn't seem to have any effect on these phantom results (yet).

How to target similar keywords for Main Category / Sub Categories?
Hi all, This is from an on-site point of view for an ecommerce site - Just looking for a bit of advice about how i can create different pages for similar keywords, by this i mean lets say i have 4 categories: Main Category = High Definition Sub Cat 1 = High Definition Camera Sub Cat 2 = High Definition Recorder Sub Cat 3 = High Definition Kits First lets focus on the Main Category: Would you not want to mention Camera / recorder / kits in any of the main category title / meta tags / h tags etc? From a navigation point of view its impossible not to have those words mentioned there, and from a product point of view obviously the "cameras" are going to be on the main category page also... Obviously we can create some written content also, which i presume again would be best not to mention cameras / recorders / kits? OR would it be wise to mention them, but link to those pages? NOW if we look at a Sub Category - Say 1 (Camera) Now obviously everywhere we type in "high definition camera" we are typeing in the keyword for the main category, so is there anyway to limit the effect of this, so that a sub category wouldnt rank above a main category for its keyword... for example if we were to make sure any time the word "high definition" is mentioned in title / meta / h tags, or any specific written content that the word "camera" is directly after it... Also, perhaps in the content of all three sub categories make sure 1 (or would you advise more) link to the main category using keyword "high definition"? Any advice on the above would be greatly appreciated... Also bare in mind i am talking about on site only, i'm just thinking from a creating the page point of view, i know we can try and force the issue afterwards with a few backlinks etc.. On a different note, a simple question... When you do a site:mysite.com search in google... is the list google then presents you in order of how "important" googls see's the pages on that site? Or is it just hompage then random? thanks James
