I have 2 locations and 6+ Google Business pages... How can I combine the duplicates without losing maps rankings?
-
I have 2 locations and 6+ different Google Business pages due to a company merger and automatic page creation. Some of the GMB even pages rank in maps above the ones we use for certain terms and most bring traffic to my site, but I know the dupes are hurting our maps rankings. Is there a way I can consolidate these pages by combining them? Or am I better off just biting the bullet and deleting the pages I don't want to use?

Hi Foothills!
Good advice from Donna, and I highly recommend that you go through Joy Hawkins article http://www.joyannehawkins.com/the-proper-way-to-deal-with-duplicates-in-google-my-business/ with fine toothed comb before you make a move in any direction.
The article does a super job of explaining deletion, merging, etc. and links to another resource for understanding moving reviews from one entity to another. I believe it will be exactly what you're looking for!

Hi Donna, thanks for your response. The additional pages were all either automatically created or created by staff in error and don't really add value to searchers. I'd prefer that only the two location pages we actually keep up with were the only ones which displayed in search, but I'm hesitant to delete the duplicates, as some still receive search traffic and were even verified in the past.
Is there a good way to combine listings without deleting the dupes altogether?

What differentiates the 6 GMB pages from one another? You said you have two locations, so it can't just be location.
You're going to have to standardize on a single name / address / phone number (NAP) combination for each of your two different locations. Then you'll need to inventory all the incoming citations you have to all 6 GMB listings and update or delete the ones that are inaccurate. Lastly, you'll need to remove the obsolete GMB pages. It's tedious and time consuming, but it needs to be done.
Whitespark offers a highly effective citation audit and cleanup service with a couple of different price points if you don't have the time but do have funding.

Verifying Google My Business After An Address Change
Hello,
Local Listings | | Ben-R
We are trying to verify our Google My Business listing, however, the current unverified listing is using an old address we no longer have access to. The only option for verification is through the mail. We tried requesting an edit but it didn’t go through. Would the best option be to create a new one and try to have the old (unverified) listing removed? Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Changing the business name in citations and GMB
In Australia, some businesses are Pty Ltd (Proprietary Limited) hence, their business name ends with xxx Pty Ltd. How accurate do we have to be when building citations or updating citations that Pty Ltd is included in the business name? We've got clients who have left out Pty Ltd in their previously built citations and we're wondering if it's worth the time to actually update them to include Pty Ltd. Also, does changing a business name affect its rankings? This is more than just "Pty Ltd", it's changing from XYZ to ABC. We've previously had to change a client's address on their GMB and this had a negative effect on the client's rankings. Will changing the business name have an adverse effect? Thank you in advance for your advices!

Removing a duplicate local listing in same city
Hello, I see three locations for a client. Two legitimate which I have ownership of, the third is a duplicate of one of the locations. Ithink it is harming rankings and I want to get rid of it. It is service area business. Things keep changing, but how will I remove it? My client obviously set this up a while ago and it is left with wrong or missing info. When I click on the business under "more listings" on maps there is a chance to "edit it" AND "claim it" but not delete it. When I strart to claim it I go through adding in everything but then I worry I am legitimising the duplicate. How do you get rid of it? Thanks

How to rank same business page in different locations?
Hello all, First of all thanks for answering my previous queries. Now, I have one more query and I am hoping to get best possible answers from you guys. Query: I have one business which is located in one city only and I have a verified listing there (I am ranking good in that city). However, I want to rank the same business page in couple of other cities as well. What should I do considering that I cannot create a new listing for other cities because I have my office in single location only? Looking forward to answers. Brian

Do business citations (without links) on penalised website have a negative effect?
Hi there I've been doing some research into directory sites that my clients are listed on and noticed that some appear to have flat-lined in organic search traffic indicating a penalty. I would like to know if clients with business citations on these penalised websites (without links to clients websites) will be having a negative effect on SEO? Thanks

Google+ Local and a Google+ Company Page
I have an established G+ company page but also want a G+ Local listing in order to appear on Google maps. The company does have a physical address, phone number etc. to qualify for a G+ Local listing. No current local listing exists to claim. Should I: a) Switch the currrent G+ company page to be a G+ Local page; or b) Create a new G+ Local page and keep the G+ company page; or c) Ignore G+ Local and create the listing through Google Places Thanks
