How do I exclude fake direct load traffic from networks in Google Analytics?
-
Starting on Friday 1/20, we noticed a huge, unnatural spike in Direct Load traffic. While researching where it was coming from, the big flags were huge spikes in countries that normally only have <5 sessions a month like Russia, Singapore, Brazil, etc., each sending 1400 a week, with >99% bounce rate and <0:00:05 average session duration.
While looking into networks, we saw an influx in Networks that had never sent traffic before, each with >1300 sessions a week, 100% bounce rate, and 0:00:00 session duration. The list of these Networks are:
astute hosting usa incorporated
nephoscale inc.
network transit holdings llc
serverbeach
coreix ltd
2ezhost llp
nforce entertainment b.v.
mir telematiki ltd
servers australia pty ltd wholesale services provider for abuse
reliablehosting
dimenoc servicos de informatica ltda
c0715718213I have seen a lot of guides of filtering out Referral traffic, but these are all coming in as Direct Load and are skewing our Direct Load results. Any idea how to filter or remove this traffic from Google Analytics?

Then you need to look into ghost traffic. That article has the link at the bottom, and couple last sections are about it
-
Hmm, unfortunately these are resolving to our hostname
-
Howdy.
What you need to do is create a filtered view or segment, where you would include only traffic from hostname, which matches your website. Here is an awesome guide: https://moz.com/blog/stop-ghost-spam-in-google-analytics-with-one-filter

Do I need a separate Google Analytics ID for a subdomain on my website?
Hello Everyone, I would like to know if I need a separate Google Analytics ID for a subdomain on my website? I have a sub-domain within my website, and the software for the site on the subdomain is asking for a Google Analytics ID. Should I be using the same Google Analytics ID as the main domain or should I be creating a new Google Analytics profile or ID? Thanks. Ryan

Direct traffic decline
I've noticed a few of our sites (tour, hotel, and local attraction) which are very established and reasonably high brand recognition that have experienced a significant decrease in branded traffic (-20-30% compared to same period from the previous year) the past few months. There have been no changes in offline marketing though we are seeing a slight decrease in visitor arrivals (-5%) and higher hotel room rates. Is there a chance that Google's not set may be affecting direct traffic numbers? Any other thoughts on how we can figure out why brand traffic is dipping? Thanks

On GA looks like this http://orlandocouponsfree.com - http://orlandocouponsfree.comUA-9313894-1orlandocouponsfree.combut url is http://www.orlandocouponsfree.com/Is this an issue? When I tried to connect to google analytics yesterday. There was a connection issue with Moz & GA. I refreshed page hoping it would help. Now it won't let me choose domain. When I view campaign it says I should connect properties. I click link and get to this page which doesn't provide my an option. http://analytics.moz.com/settings/campaign/89561.117561

Google analytics - landing pages
Hello, I have a website and it contains landing pages. after tracking and analyzing the data in Google Analytics , I found out that the traffic for the whole site is affected by the visits to the landing page. I mean, the bounce rate is less than one minute. this is because users fill their details in the landing pages and leave my website. to improve my website, I need clear data about the traffic, bounce rate etc. in my website. I also need can you help me solve this problem I thought about create another account in Google Analytics and set it to my websites pages (not including the landing pages). and keep the current code for the landing pages. my question is regarding this: Is it legal to use 2 different GA code (each one of them belong to different account) in the same domain ? can you provide me with more information about Multi Account in Google Analytics, and how can I use it to divide the traffic in my website between the traffic and the data for the landing pages and for the website itself ?

Analytics, Traffic and Rankings. Something is wrong, can you answer it? ;-)
So I've been monitoring analytics to see where our clients are ranking for terms that have brought visitors to the site over the last month to find that the website isnt ranking in the top 100 for that keyword. What are your thoughts on this? Why do you think this could happen? One of the keywords has brough over 700 visitors in the last month yet is not in the top 100 for this term. I've also looked Google Webmaster Tools and have found that the exact same term hasn't had 700 impressions let alone 700 click throughs! Weird! Cheers, Sean

Google Analytics: how many visits from country Google domains?
Hello, I manage a site with visitors from many different countries. With Google Analytics, it is normal to see the number of visitors from each search engine. However, I would like to identify the number of visitors from each Google-search contry domain. How many visitors from Google.com? How many from Google.co.uk. And from Google.co.zm? And so on. Anybody knows if this is possible and if yes, how can it be done? Thank you in advance, Dario
