Geo Tags for Yellow pages
-
Hello, I am new here, and I hope you can help me with Geo Tags.
I am the owner of one of the biggest yellow pages in Lithuania, so I hope you don't mind that you won't understand what's written in the page. The url is https://www.spec.lt
Every single company that is based in Lithuania is divided into some kind of "activity" that they do. For example "Metal". And they are attached to that activity as the all the other companies that do that - https://www.spec.lt/veikla/metalai
But everyone is search for businesses that are closer to them, for example companies that are based in the same city, like Vilnius. (The capital of Lithuania for those who don't know that)So the url would be this: https://www.spec.lt/veikla/metalai/vilniujeThe questions is: Should we include geo tags in this page like this:
Generated by geo-tag.de ? Our competitors don't do that but sites like yellowpages.com do that (I believe).
The other question would be https://www.spec.lt/veikla/metalai should the main category URL have something like that:
Shoving that is for Lithuania (the domain is already .lt - google webmaster associates it with Lithuania).
The last question is what about the company URL page:
https://www.spec.lt/imone/a-lygio-reklama-uab
Should we include geo tags of this company in this page even tho the company works in the whole Lithuania not only in one city ? The problem is: there are so many companies, that we don't know if they work in the whole country or only the part of it. So I hope for the answer that helps to find the best solution.Thank you!

Removing a page in GSC - anyone done this?
I've deleted a bunch of pages, but they're still indexed by Google and showing up 404s. All links to these pages have been removed. Because they're showing a 404, our web dev team are saying that they can't implement a noindex tag, so I came across this - https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/removals Anyone tried this? Or got a better idea? We've also added all the pages to robots.txt but they still haven't been de-indexed. Cheers, Rhys

Page options under title tag: Can we set these?
Hi all, Under many title tags, you see a list of sub-pages that Google suggests. So, if you search for Amazon, for example, it'll show you 6 options: Full Shop Directory - Try Prime Books - CDs & Vinyl Your account - Today's deals Can you dictate these choices with markup? Cheers, Rhys

Home Page not Ranking on Local Community Sites
I am helping out with a couple of community sites and am seeing the same problem on both. They are small non-commercial local websites. One has 5 or 6 relevant links to the home page, and the title tag and content have been optimised for the name of the group and the location (and in any case the phrase is completely non-competitive). The other one has few links and isn't optimised. Both sites are fairly new. Both sites have the same problem in that when you search for the name of the group, it is not the home page that comes up but another page. My experience is mainly in the more competitive commercial arena, so I thought that these community sites would be simple! Can anyone point me in the right direction as to why this might be? No spammy links on either. These are community sites that are not particularly well maintained, but the phrases I am searching for are non-competitive. I have checked that the home pages are not no-indexed. Any tips much appreciated!

Geo-targeting Schema Codes
Hello Moz, I have a couple of questions about the wonderful world of schema.org. I understand basically how everything works, but I have a client that has multiple locations and operates as a bowling alley/restaurant/entertainment venue. My questions are as follows: 1. What is the difference between the Place, LocalBusiness, and Restaurant Schema Codes? Can I geo-target these codes to come up in the areas of the different locations? 2. With the Restaurant Schema Code, will the menu populate in google the way other restaurants do? Do I just need this code on pages that relate to their menu/restaurant? 3. Is there some sort of cheat sheet somewhere where I can see examples of codes and how to use them? Thanks!

Google My Business page no longer appearing with search results
Title pretty much says it all--my company's local Google+ page has always appeared under our listed website information up until very recently. I'm also noticing the same with our competitors. Has anyone else just began to experience this? Our NAP, map, photos, and review are still displayed to the right of the results, but nothing is linked to the actual Google page itself. Am I missing something? Thanks!

Is there any harm to display NAP more than once on a location page ?
Hi All, I currently have location specific pages and my branch information(NAP) is currently displayed at the bottom in the page content. I was thinking off displaying the NAP again higher up the page so it's very visible for the user possibly under a h tag heading as well. Do you think it would be spammy or harm my seo efforts it my NAP was displayed twice on a page ?. Once in the content which currently it's not visible unless the user clicks on the read more link in the content on the bottom of the page , and again further up the page where I have some white space which I can utilize Any thoughts greatly appreciated. thanks Peter

Rankings stuck on page 2 - what am I missing?
My business website ranked on the first page for 48 of 51 keywords for years. Then 10 months ago I had a duplicate content problem from a bad plugin and every keyword ranking dropped off the first page. I got the duplicate content problem fixed, but I've been stuck with only 3 keywords of 51 on the first page ever since. This is a local site and without much competition at all. http://www.pmaaustin.com The Yoast SEO Plugin shows the on page optimization of nearly every page/post on this website as solid Green, but MOZ rates nearly all of my pages' On Page Optimization as an F. It rates nearly all these keywords as an F as showing they should all be optimized on the Home page. I don't understand that. Also according to MOZ ,versus my competitor's websites, I have mostly the highest Domain and Page Authority. I also has the largest # and most relevant Root Domains. It also has the best written content, and the almost only active blog. Still, nearly every keyword is sitting on page 2. It seems like it wants to "Spring" onto page 1! What am I missing?

What is the optimum number of links on a page?
I have a local content based website which gives information of services under different categories and subcategories in a segment across multiple localities. Our menu is found across all pages and the menu has about 150 different links to sub-categories and categories. On any listings page that comes up, when you choose a particular category or sub-category, we have another 100 links relating to the individual listings in addition to the menu which is consistent across all pages. Is this a problem?
