Event/Goal Tracking For EKM Powershop
-
Hi There,
I have a client with EKM powershop. I am trying to figure out a way to either setup goal tracking (however I don't know what the final destination page is) or event tracking. I know I can do the ecommerce tag thing, but I am always worried about breaking the tracking code.
Any ideas?

Have you considered using tag manager to quickly tag events such as button clicks? The other option I see in common use is to just set a goal to activate on a page view of the thank-you or confirmation page (destination URL). If you don't know what that is, you can't find it in your CMS, and no one can tell you, I would take the time to find out by following the funnel to completion. That's going to be the easiest path for you.
Once you've got the basic stuff down, you'll probably be asked to do all sorts of other tracking. My favorite one for ecommerce is whale hunting. You segment your data so that you only look at the people that spend above a certain amount on your site and compare their activity to the people who aren't spending a lot and to the people who aren't spending at all. Your client will love you for that one.

Tracking a Redirect
Recently a client of mine had a new site developed and had changed their domain, so the old URL is now redirecting to the new URL. They want to be able to track referral traffic in the analytics so we can decipher how much direct traffic is coming in from people typing in the old URL. Is this possible and if so, can I have a guide in doing so? Thanks!

How to set goal in Google Analytics that required specific page
So our company has new page that has just implemented (let say "page x" --> not a landing page) and we want to see how many visitors that through "page x " convert into the goal (let say "page y"). If I just make the goal destination like "/page y" the goal number that appear is ALL the visitors who reach "page y" (through or not through "page x"), so how I set the goal setting to only show the visitors who reach "page y" through "page x" ? Thank you

Number of goals larger than the events its bases on - WTF?
Hi all We configured a standard goal in Analytics that is triggered on an event. I have seen cases where the number of triggered events is larger than the goal completions due to limitations to how many times the same goal can be fulfilled within the same session, BUT in this case we got the opposite problem. We got more Goal Completions than we got events that is supposed to trigger the goal. Now also added a screenshot of how the goal is configured. As you can see its just configured to use the Category name of the event. Nothing fancy at all. How can that be possible? Again, more goal completions than events that is suppose to trigger it? Grateful for any help Fredrik AclZDUO

Weird Google Analytics tracking question
I have a client that has a market place site, where people list goods and sell them, think something like Etsy. Instead of developing a system to show the users page views and things like that, does it sound reasonable to let them enter a Google Analytics property on the pages they list on, then let them monitor through GA? Does anyone see any fatal flaws in this thinking?

Subdomain tracking in GA
Hi Moz community. Wonder if you could help us out with a baffling Analytics issue. Are there any reasons why the _setDomainName() function in Google Analytics wouldn't track across subdomains correctly? We have been seeing visits to a subdomain come up as referral traffic, even after implementing the right tracking code. Would be interested to hear everyone's thoughts on this. Thanks in advance.

ECommerce Tracking Code Installation
Hi All, Kindly explain how to implement eCommerce tracking code on the website.I am aware how to enable and generate eCommerce tracking code in Google Analytics but have confusion from website end. Also, where i read the steps, everywhere i read the below code: <script< span="">type="text/javascript"> var _gaq = _gaq ||[]; _gaq.push(['_setAccount','UA-XXXXX-X']); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); _gaq.push(['_addTrans', '1234', // transaction ID - required 'Acme Clothing', // affiliation or store name '11.99', // total - required '1.29', // tax '5', // shipping 'San Jose', // city 'California', // state or province 'USA' // country ]); // add item might be called for every item in the shopping cart // where your ecommerce engine loops through each item in the cart and // prints out _addItem for each _gaq.push(['_addItem', '1234', // transaction ID - required 'DD44', // SKU/code - required 'T-Shirt', // product name 'Green Medium', // category or variation '11.99', // unit price - required '1' // quantity - required ]); _gaq.push(['_trackTrans']);//submits transaction to the Analytics servers (function(){ var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type ='text/javascript'; ga.async =true; ga.src =('https:'== document.location.protocol ?'https://ssl':'http://www')+'.google-analytics.com/ga.js'; var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s); })(); ----------------------------------------</script<> In the above code specific transaction id, SKU/code are mentioned. What will be the modifications in the above code if i have to track all products present on my eCommerce website??

Looking for a Drupal module to track conversions...
I don't use drupal very often, so I'm looking for some help. We manage two sites in drupal, and the way they are set up, it creates a new thank you page every time someone fills out a contact form. The thank you page displays the information that was entered, so I assume it is necessary to create a page to do this (this was set up before I came on board). What I'm trying to do is track conversions in analytics by thank you page, but because a different node is created for every page, it makes things really difficult. My guess is that there's some kind of module or shortcut that could make this easier. Do any of you know of something, or preferably, is there something you're using that you'd endorse? Thanks for your help. -Adam

Analytics goals & funnels - troubleshooting 100% proceed to next step
As you can see from the screenshots, 100% of the visitors in the checkout proceed from step 2 (Delivery Date Selected) to step 3 (Enter Delivery Details) - this sample is a month, but this applies going all the way back. Can you tell me if some RegEx is missing from the goal set up? Thanks fEXtD
