What are the easiest Blogs to Become a Marketing Contributor for?
-
I've seen a lot of online articles that are bit outdated when it comes to this question and I wanted to see if Authors on other sites knew of some great sites to post their articles on.
-
Hi Rolando,
Hmmm... How about we look at this a little different:
- What are the blogs you're qualified to write for (e.g., some publications prefer authors be active members of the community or have written for similar publications in the past)
- Which publications would be worthwhile for your brand?
- Which of those publications accept guest authors?
You'll need to do a little digging, but a simple, easy-to-use way to find out if your ideal place to share content accept pitches is to do a simple Google Site search:
- site:domain.com “submit a guest post” or site:domain.com “guest post by”
This will help you figure out if the site you wish to write for offers guest posting opportunities.

Hi Rolando,
I noticed you've chosen 'local website optimization' as one of you categories. If yours is a local business, then the best blogs to seek to contribute to would relate to either a) your industry or b) your specific geography. The visibility/authority/credit you derive from becoming an author on such blogs is likely to be much more targeted than what you would experience from simply distributing content to generic sites.
So, for example, let's say you are an interior designer located in San Francisco. You do residential work, but you'd like to become better known for your commercial work doing home staging for real estate companies. You have some great photos of your work and your brain is full of helpful tips you could give. Who would you reach out to? Some local possibilities would be realtors with great blogs, local furniture/decor shops, etc. On the industry side, scoring an article on something like HGTV.com would be awesome, or something like this http://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/2661221/list/sell-your-home-fast-21-staging-tips could improve your authority.
Ideally, and for the long haul, what you want to do is build relationships with leaders in both your industry and geography, so that when you want to outreach with an interesting article you feel you could develop, you have made contacts who like and trust your work and would be glad to have you contribute. I would recommend this scenario every time over the older strategy of simply distributing content to non-relational websites, which fail to build your brand in your geo-industry. You'll need to research your niche, see who the leaders are, and assess what you can contribute that would get their attention and begin a positive relationship.

Is it ok to redirect users to a market-specific home page based on their previous selection?
I'm working with a real estate client currently that asks users to identify the market they are in prior to showing them properties. The markets are far enough apart that no user would conceivably be browsing within two separate markets. When the user selects their market choice, they are redirected to a market-specific home page whenever they login after the original home page loads. These market-specific pages are ranking currently (page 2-4) for market-related phrases, but before embarking on further optimization I wanted to get a second opinion on whether or not keeping this redirect process is even a good idea or not. Thoughts?

Looking For A Chicago Marketing Agency
Hi guys, I am looking for a trusted, digital marketing company specializing in local search services and SEO. I would prefer to be from around Chicago due to the type of business we are in, limousine business, but ultimately, I would be willing to try someone from a different city but it needs to have experience in this type of business. If you know someone, please send me a private message and I will give you more info. I am not looking for a 2-3 man company, we are past that stage. I know about Moz's recommended companies, none of them are from Chicago, bummer. Thanks!

Improving SEO with no blog
I have a client who understands the value of content for SEO - however getting them to provide some content has proven an impossible task. I've tried every way to make it easy for them. I've offered to come over to their office myself and see if I can just take 15 minutes of their time and record their answers to a few questions. The response is that's a great idea, we'll set up a time...and no time is ever good. So I've thought, what can I do without them? Unfortunately, their industry is so technical and so niche I'd need to have a law degree to even begin to understand exactly what they do, and as they are in law it's probably better to have no content than content with something even slightly incorrect in it. For now, all I can do is summarize and share news from a government website to their social media accounts. It's not highly effective. Their on-page SEO for the main site is completely optimized. I've placed them in every free listing I can possibly find - both industry and local sites. I have them update me on any local events, conferences and/or trade shows they attend for possible backlinks. What else can I do? I suppose I fear that if I can't provide them any additional results, they will stop seeing the value in SEO services, and I'd have a hard time disagreeing as I can't think of what else to do for them. Thanks for any help!

Ways to expand your marketing area
I have a local business and put additional city names (7 of them) into the main title page along with the biz description in order to expand into these areas. I included these same cities on 3 other pages in the site as well, along with the custom descriptions for these pages. Is this overuse of city names in title pages? Will it negatively affect my rankings? What are the best ways to expand your marketing territory for a local biz? Thanks for any and all responses.

Should digital marketing agencies treat SEO differently when it comes to homepage content?
When I review competitor digital agency sites, they seem to have very little homepage content. But how would this be beneficial in gaining a higher SERP rank?

How to target an established .co.uk site/blog to audiences in other English speaking countries - UAE, Singapore for example?
Excuse for the novice questions, but looking for help! 🙂 I have an established .co.uk website/blog for which I have established a good solid following in the UK over a good number of years. That said I have recently relocated to Dubai and so I am looking to target my English blog content to English speakers here and Singapore? While the language setting of my site is "en" is there anyway that I can change this to "en-ae" and "en-sg" for example to build a following in these markets? Or is my .co.uk TLD an issue that is going to hold me back from building following in these locations? I ask as I have just read the hreflang announcement from Google, but noticed in my Webmaster Tools that I get the following message: "Your site has no hreflang tags". Thanks in advance!
