Influencing Sitelinks - Achievable with Schema or Solely Automated by Google
-
I'm looking to influence the sitelinks that appear under my main website. I found a Google article here about how to mark up the sitelinks: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/sitelinks-searchbox. Then I found another Google article about how the sitelinks are automated: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/47334?hl=en.
Which is it? Can I influence the sitelinks or not? And is there a maximum number? I can't find any up to date articles that are accurate, because most still reference the remove sitelinks tool in Google Search Console which is no longer available.

Is Schema markup important for SEO?
I have recently come across the Schema markup and have researched what it's all about. Basically in short it helps search engines identify all the elements of the page. Our competitors have this implementated, so is this important for SEO? We have an e commerce store.

Google Analytics
I usually have Google analytics "real-time" running on one of my monitors, occasionally I glance at the screen to see that are TOP KEYWORDS people are using, lately there have been a lot of long-tail keywords. If I try to copy and paste the queries into google, i can never seem to find us organically for the long-tail searches? Is the real-time feature accurate? Thank you!

Google Alerts News Images
I have a Google Alert setup which is pulling information from a blog. I am receiving images as part of the alert. The issue that I am having is that the images have nothing to do with the blog post. Is there a way to control what images are received in the alert. From what I have gathered, if it grabs an image it should be part of the blog post.

Google previews meanings
I have noticed that when I do a site:mysite.com search and all my indexed pages come up, that when I hover over the arrows and bring up the previews some of the pages have things in a red rectangle and some of the pages even have zig zag-like tears/perforations running through them. What do these signify?
