How to build Domain Authority?
-
My site: https://www.fishingspots.com.au/ has started to drop Domain Authority in the past weeks, however less quality sites like http://silverstories.com.au/ are rising...
I am not sure why? Is there someway I can understand why my site would suddenly start dropping authority?

There's a lot of:
Error Code 804: HTTPS (SSL) Error Encountered
And a fair bit of duplicate content since a lot of pages have been setup but not yet populated with content.

Check these:
- Broken (404) links - if you have many broken links this will lead on decreasing the DA
- Back links from spamy sites or sits with lower DA
- Decrease in back links - try to get back links from genuine domains
- Sites Speed - you site mus load in max 3 Seconds
- Responsive layout - make sure the site is mobile friendly

Thanks David.
Nope, traffic hasn't changed, in fact I had a huge spike in organic traffic over the weekend.
I'll keep that in mind, it has lost a few organic backlinks over the past few months, so that could be the reason, but it wasn't an immediate DA drop.

Hi Luke,
Don't worry too much about your DA.
Have you lost rankings? Have you lost organic traffic? If the answer is "no" to both questions, you're doing fine.
DA will fluctuate with each update because there are different volumes of links crawled by Moz each time. Maybe they crawled less links pointing to your domain or maybe some sites have stopped linking to you.
If you haven't lost any links, you might see your DA increase in the next Moz update.
If you have lost links, try to reclaim those links or create new links to replace them.
Hopefully you'll see an upwards trend in your DA over time, but don't be surprised if it's a bit up and down along the way - and don't stress if it happens to be down. Focus on more important metrics like organic traffic and keyword rankings.
Cheers,
David

Removing poor domain authority backlinks worth it?
Hey Moz, I am working with a client on more advanced SEO tactics. This client has a reputable domain authority of 67 and 50,000+ backlinks. We're wanting to continue SEO efforts and stay on top of any bad backlinks that may arise. Would it be worth asking websites (below 20 domain authority) to remove our links? Then, use the disavow tool if they do not respond. Is this a common SEO practice for continued advanced efforts? Also, what would your domain authority benchmark be? I used 20 just as an example. Thanks so much for your help. Cole

Redirecting a Page from Domain A to Domain B
We have a page on Domain A, an established and well-ranking website, that would be more appropriate on Domain B, a site that we launched about two years ago. This page ranks well, pulls nice search traffic and has traffic from external links. We would like to move the page and its traffic from Domain A to Domain B using a 301 redirect. Have you ever done this or have you heard of how it has worked for someone else? Thanks!

Redirect gateway domain to main domain?
We have following scenario: Our main website - www.esedirect.co.uk which gets a 1800 visits a day with around half of those from organic search. It's been around since 2004. Our original website - www.ese.co.uk which gets around 30 visits a day and really is nothing more than a doorway page with links to the above site and couple of other sites that belong to the same company. This is an old domain that's had content since 1997 and has good domain authority with some good links. We are considering doing a 301 redirect from www.ese.co.co.uk to www.esedirect.co.uk to redirect the link juice. I welcome opinions to any possible negative effects this could give and how beneficial doing this will be. Thanks, Lee

New Site: Use Aged Domain Name or Buy New Domain Name?
Hi,
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | peterwhitewebdesign
I have the opportunity to build a new website and use a domain name that is older than 5 years or buy a new domain name. The aged domain name is a .net and includes a keyword.
The new domain would include the same keyword as well as the U.S. state abbreviation. Which one would you use and why? Thanks for your help!0 -
Improve Domain Trust
Hey there, I need to improve the Domain trust of my website. I've seen the blogitems of Rand but I still have questions. If I want to increase the Domain Trust..I "simpely" have to get links from websites with a high Domain Trust. This will eventually improve my Domain trust. But what are the effects if I do this by reciprocal linking. Does this eliminates the trust that comes from the other website.
