According to the above article you lose 15% page rank on permanent redirects.
Our site and domain was launched without any migrations. Is there a way to fix this problem?
Please 101 me on this question. Thanks,

Hi,
Tawny is right. If you want to pass on any existing authority to a new domain/url, then you want to be using 301 redirects to do it. Either doing them en masse (e.g. all http: to https:) or individually if required, and you should get somewhere around 90% of the original SEO benefit (which is better than nothing). Plus it also avoids users trying to visit via previous links ending up on a 404 page, which is pretty bad for the user experience.

Hey Kevin! Tawny from Moz's help team here.
I'm not 100% sure on this — I'm not an SEO, just a helpster — but I think 301 redirects are probably your best bet for passing on link juice. According to our resource on redirection, which you can find here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/redirection
301 Permanent Redirects pass on between 90% and 99% of their link equity (ranking power), so that's probably the kind of redirect you should use if you're hoping to pass link juice from one page to another.I hope this helps! Maybe one of our illustrious community members can chime in here and weigh in on the topic, either to confirm what I've said or to demonstrate that I'm wrong. Using Link Tracking list to track 301 backlinks for my main site backlink profile?
Greetings, I am utilizing link tracking list to keep a track of 301 redirect backlinks to my main site because these links do not as yet show up in my backlink profile on Moz. Will adding these to the tracking list with the redirected domain as the target / source url show up in my main site backlink profile eventually?

How to solve the 4xx and 5xx permanently?
Hi guys, This is the first time I am posting a question here. I have a website and moz is continously showing 4xx and 5xx error. Now in the URL column it shows the version without www or https://abc.com and in referring section it shows full version of my website URL or https://www.abc.com. My website is a listings website and listings gets expired on regular basis. We redirected the non www version a long time ago to the full version of URL that exists now. Can anyone please tell me if they had the same issue? If more details are needed I can provide snapshots if its allowed here? Thanks in advance!

Open Site Explorer Messge - Mysite.com redirects to www.mysite.com
Hello All, When I plug in my site's URL http://mysite.com ( Not my actual URL of-course) into the OpenSiteExplorer tool I get the following message: "You entered the URL http://Mysite.com which redirects to http://www.Mysite.com/.
Link Explorer | | jjimen03
Because it's likely to have more accurate metrics, we're showing data for the redirected URL instead.
Click here to analyze http://Mysite.com instead?" Not sure why I am getting this message. On my hosting server, I have defined my preferred domain to be the non-www. version. I have also used a Canonical Tag on Mysite.com/index.html file ( ). In addition, on Google Search Console ( Webmaster Tools ) , I have added both the www. and non-www. properties, where on both property settings, I have defined the non-www. version as my preferred one. Also, on my server, I have not implemented any 301 redirects at all. So my questions are: Why am I receiving this message when plugging in my non-www. URL version of my website into OpenSiteExplorer? Is my DA or PA possibly being split up between the two versions as a result? Should I be concerned? How can I fix this? Thanks in advance.0 -
Permanent 301 - Domain Authority
Hi, we created a new website which we also gave a new url.
Link Explorer | | DIGIHOUSE
We made a permanent 301 for the complete domain. www.digihouse.at -> www.digihouse-werbeagentur.at Google checked that and we rank minimum as good as with the old domain.
But in MOZ Tools the Domain Authority is very bad now.
So i think the 301 influences Google but not the Moz Tools?
The Domain Authority will not be inherited in Moz Tools? thxChris0 -
Inbound links export report link redirect to OSE
Hi there, I have received email notification that my new inbound links CSV report is ready to export and download. I follow the OSE link but I am redirected straight back to the main page of OSE not the download. Is there a problem? Are the access problems due to the Moz.com and Research Tools Outage. reported on Moz Health? David

301 Redirects: How long for Google to recognize? How long for Moz/OSE to recognize?
I redirected a few pages that had funky URL issues (capitals and underscores and useless words) to the same page renamed with proper URLs. The sitemaps were changed also, and re-submitted. Like this: mydomain.com/Not_Pertinent_Words.html >>> mydomain.com/good-words.html Google seems to have found them and changed the search engine results listing in about 8 days. But it's been about a month now and Moz and OSE still have not transferred all the strength and link data from the old URLs to the new ones. Question 1: How long does it usually take Google to transfer all the link and strength data for a 301? Question 2: How long does it take Moz and OSE to do the same? Is there something I need to do to tell them about the changes?
