Do I have to go off page to establish an entity?
-
So I have always thought of Google establishing an Entity (by entity I mean https://goo.gl/RP8e9B) by looking at the markup on a website.
Recently watched a video that discussed creating an entity by using external websites. I have a feeling that you do not have to go off of the main website to have an entity created.
Is there anything valid in this concept/video? (https://goo.gl/CNe7qD) The concept focuses on creating branded pages on properties owned by Google and various other well known websites.
My main concern is whether this is something I should do for our website or if just doing the little bit of social marketing we are doing is fine.

Thanks for the response Bronn.
While I am not sure what a PBN is, it sounds like it is outside Terms of Service. I am trying to avoid anything that will harm our website so it doesn't sound like something for us.
The video seemed within Terms of Service/Webmaster Guidelines though so I am not sure if they are related.
Is there anyone who can reassure me that this process described is within Google Webmaster Guidelines?

Just a quick thing...do you know if entity and persona are the same thing? I'm just slightly confused by the term...
Whenever I get a PBN, what I've done in the past (to make them look more "real") is create public whois information with a fake name, but real address + city/state, and I'd create a number of profiles (Web 2.0, social, and a G+ account) to make it look "real" and this helped my PBN's avoid deindexing.
I would recommend doing it on your main website just because it helps with boosting your domain authority in general (and helps with deindexing), but this is the first time I've heard about doing it for your main site/money site.
For the most part, I try to get everything "matching" (I guess they call it "branded"?) w/ names, cities, addresses, etc. and that has helped.
This is first time hearing about doing this for main site or for rankings...
But I can highly recommend doing this for PBN's.

What to do about endless size pages
I'm working on a site that sells products that come in many different sizes. One product may come in 30 sizes. The products themselves are identical, except for the size. There are collections pages that are all of several kinds of product in a particular size and then there are individual product pages of one product the specific size. Collections pages for widgets size 30 is the same content as widgets size 29. A single product page for gold-widget-size-30 is the same content as the single product page gold-widget-size-29. To make matters worse, they all have the same tags and very little written content. The site is in Shopify. Last month there were almost 400 pages that produced visits on organic, mostly in the 1 to 4 per month range, but all together about 1000 visits. There are several hundred more that produced no traffic in organic, but are duplicate (except for size) and part of this giant ball of tangled string. What do you think I should do? Thanks... Mike

How to optimize count of interlinking by increasing Interlinking count of chosen landing pages and decreasing for less important pages within the site?
We have taken out our interlinking counts (Only Internal Links and not Outbound Links) through Google WebMaster tool and discovered that the count of interlinking of our most significant pages are less as compared to of less significant pages. Our objective is to reverse the existing behavior by increasing Interlinking count of important pages and reduce the count for less important pages so that maximum link juice could be transferred to right pages thereby increasing SEO traffic.

After adding a ssl certificate to my site I encountered problems with duplicate pages and page titles
Hey everyone! After adding a ssl certificate to my site it seems that every page on my site has duplicated it's self. I think that is because it has combined the www.domainname.com and domainname.com. I would really hate to add a rel canonical to every page to solve this issue. I am sure there is another way but I am not sure how to do it. Has anyone else ran into this problem and if so how did you solve it? Thanks and any and all ideas are very appreciated.

Keywords under product listing pages
Hi guys, One of my main concerns when we start redesigning the site Trespass.co.uk, is the current pages like this one http://www.trespass.co.uk/snow-sports/clothing/ski-jackets/womens-ski-jackets are bordering over optimisation. Is this the case as each product listed in the url above has "womens ski jacket" under each product. If we have 50 products on each product listing page with the product name + type of product, ie. flora womens ski jacket, xyz mens waterproof jacket. Are we over optimising the page for the main keywords by having them under each product? Would that page be over optimised for womens ski jackets? Thanks guys

Infographics and articles on the same page
Hi i'm currently designing an infographic and the infographic is based on a article my writer had created. I was thinking of ways in which i can add the article and infographic so they complement each other. Obviously the infographic is more in-depth then the article as it contains much more information. The infographic is designed to go viral. I was thinking of putting the info graphic on the top of the page and the written content below it. This way the person looking at the infographic can scroll down to find the more in-depth written discussion/article on the topic. Also from a SEO perspective, the search engines can index the written content (as it won't be able to index the the infographic since it's a image. What do you guys think is the best approach for this situation? Regards, Matt

Category Pages up - Product Pages down... what would help?
Hi I mentioned yesterday how one of our sites was losing rank on product pages. What steps do you take to improve the SERPS of product pages, in this case home/category/product is the tree. There isn't really any internal linking, except one link from the category page to each product, would setting up a host of internal links perhaps "similar products" linking them together be a place to start? How can I improve my ranking of these more deeply internal pages? Not just internal links?

To land page or not to land page
Hey all, I wish to increase my sites rankings on a variety of keywords within sub categories but I'm unsure where to be spending the time in SEO. Here's an example of the website page structure: General Home Page > Sub Category 1 Home Page
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | DPSSeomonkey
> Searching / Results pages
- Sub Category 1
- Sub Category 2
- Sub Category 3
- Sub Category 4 > Sub Category 2 Home Page
> Searching / Results pages
- Sub Category 1
- Sub Category 2
- Sub Category 3
- Sub Category 4 We've newly introduced the Sub Category Home Pages and I was wondering if SEO is best performed on these pages or should landing pages be built, one for each of the 4 sub categories in each section. Those landing pages would have links to the "Searching / Results pages" for that sub category. Thanks!0
