Hi,
Our Kilobytes downloaded per day in search console droped drastically, Do you know why?
Thanks

Roy,
Did you optimize images (make them smaller in size)? Is the traffic real? Spam hits will not utilize data like a real person on your site. Also google could be serving cached pages so the information is not as large as downloading your actual assets from your site.
Thanks,
Don

Kadut,
Are you seeing less traffic or maybe the pages being visited have less content to download. Need more information to give you specific answers.
Thanks,
Don

Crawl Stats Decline After Site Launch (Pages Crawled Per Day, KB Downloaded Per Day)
Hi all, I have been looking into this for about a month and haven't been able to figure out what is going on with this situation. We recently did a website re-design and moved from a separate mobile site to responsive. After the launch, I immediately noticed a decline in pages crawled per day and KB downloaded per day in the crawl stats. I expected the opposite to happen as I figured Google would be crawling more pages for a while to figure out the new site. There was also an increase in time spent downloading a page. This has went back down but the pages crawled has never went back up. Some notes about the re-design: URLs did not change Mobile URLs were redirected Images were moved from a subdomain (images.sitename.com) to Amazon S3 Had an immediate decline in both organic and paid traffic (roughly 20-30% for each channel) I have not been able to find any glaring issues in search console as indexation looks good, no spike in 404s, or mobile usability issues. Just wondering if anyone has an idea or insight into what caused the drop in pages crawled? Here is the robots.txt and attaching a photo of the crawl stats. Content Aggregation Site: How much content per aggregated piece is too much?
Let's say I set up a section of my website that aggregated content from major news outlets and bloggers around a certain topic. For each piece of aggregated content, is there a bad, fair, and good range of word count that should be stipulated? I'm asking this because I've been mulling it over—both SEO (duplicate content) issues and copyright issues—to determine what is considered best practice. Any ideas about what is considered best practice in this situation? Also, are there any other issues to consider that I didn't mention?

Billing for results not by the day. Thought?
Hi, We are searching for a new SEO provider for www.compoundsecurity.co.uk and I notice that some SEO providers are now billing against results rather than days spent doing the work. Considering the high prices and lack of work done for those fees by current provider, this is of interest to me. Does anyone have experience of working this way and or have any advice please? Thank you

How much content on PDF download page
Hello, This is about content for an ecommerce site. We have an article page that we also created a PDF out of. We have an HTML page that doesn't have anything commercial on it that is the download page for the PDF page. How much of the article do you recommend we put on the non-commercial HTML download page? Should we put most of the article on there? We're trying to get people to link to the HTML Download page, not the PDF.

Hidden keywords - how many per page?
Hi All, We have a booking website we want to optimize for keywords we cannot really show, because some of our partners wouldn't want it. We figured we can put said keywords or close synonyms onpage in various places that are not too dangerous though (e.g. image names, image alt tags, URLs, etc.). The question is how much keywords we can target though? We know keyword stuffing is detrimental, and we will not start to create long URLs stuffed with keywords, same for H1 tags or page titles. So how many is acceptable/not counterproductive? Thanks!

Max # of Products / Links per Page on E-Commerce Site
We are getting ready to re-launch our e-commerce site and are trying to decide how many products to list per category page. Some of of our category pages have upwards of 100 products. While I'd love to list ALL the products on the root category page (to reduce hassle for customer, to index more products on a higher PR page), I'm a little worried about having it be too long, and containing too many on-page links. Would love some guidance on: Maximum number of internal links on a page If Google frowns on really long category pages Anything else I should be considering when making this decision Thanks for your input!

What would cause a drastic drop in pages crawled per day?
The site didn't go down. There were no drop in rankings, or traffic. But we went from averaging 150,000 pages crawled per day, to ~1000 pages crawled per day. We're now back up to ~100,000 crawled per day, but we went more than a week with only 1000 pages being crawled daily. The question is, what could cause this drastic (but temporary) reduction in pages crawled?
