If you type bike tours in google search box
-
What are you expecting to see on the page you land on ?
-
If you type "bike tours" in the Google search box, you'll find a wide range of results related to bike tours. Google will display various websites, tour companies, destinations, and reviews that offer bike tours around the world. You can explore options for guided mountain bike tours, self-guided bike tours, specific locations, and even specialized bike tour operators. It's a convenient way to discover and compare different bike tour options based on your preferences and interests.

Google's algorithms prioritize bike paths, bike lanes, and net elevation gain, as far as I can tell. It's useful for that, coming up with paths I wouldn't have used otherwise.
My town has a published map, bike paths with color coding, lanes and known routes. I use it as a structure to begin and improve how I prefer to (often lowest traffic, in spite of added distance).
Long ago, I started using "4 stroke bikes cheap" to map known routes, and I still find the UI to construct a path convenient. I never used it to download music, I don't even know if it was capable of that. "RideWithGPS" does that, I guess, if that's what you want.
-
Having now performed the search, I can see this is pretty much what I expected. Although I was surprised at the number of foreign bike tours both in PPC and organically, I was anticipating more for my locality.

Very similar to Ramon, local bike tours, popular bike tours (maybe top 10 lists places for bike tours etc). maybe the odd trip advisor bike tour posting. Mainly holiday related.

Ok, curious to see some other people opinions. This goes back to intent and is a i see it at the core of SEO and an exercise i like to apply with every keyword analyse.

Thank you for your response. Just would like to know what everyone is expecting to see and if everyone is expecting the same thing or something different.

Multiple sites using same text - how to avoid Google duplicate content penalty?
Hi Mozers, my client located in Colorado is opening a similar (but not identical) clinic in California. Will Google penalize the new California site if we use text from our website that features his Colorado office? He runs the clinic in CO and will be a partner of the clinic in CA, so the CA clinic has his "permission" to use his original text. Eventually he hopes to go national, with multiple sites utilizing essentially the same text. Will Google penalize the new CA site for plagiarism and/or duplicate content? Or is there a way to tell Google, "hey Google, this new clinic is not ripping off my text"?

Google Search Console Block
Am new to SEO. My clients site was completed using Yoast premium and then used Google search console to initiate the crawl. Initially setup an http:// property and all seemed good. Then i removed that under search console an created an https:// did the render and it appears google has put a block and placed their own robots.txt file which basically has rendered the site useless. Feedback most appreciated.

Google Translate with "no-follow" just for users' use, no ranking
Hello, I tried to search but here is a little unique situation. I would like to translate my website in 2-3 different languages not for ranking purpose, but only for some minority users within Italy to understand the content in their native language. Using "no-follow" with a Google Translate link would damage SEO? if not I would like to use it. Here are few points: Give users the ability to switch the content to their language with a link Tell Google not to follow the translated pages, because I don't want them to be used for ranking or searches I would start simply with Google Translate to see if people actually are interested, then later translate by human but still don't want google to follow I could also start with human translation instead of Google Translate if really needed, I know it is a no no. What I'm very interested is to make sure that those pages under "no-follow" won't affect my SEO in good or bad right now, because we would like to keep as it is. Thanks a lot

Wordpress themes causing google penalty(need experts to settle a debate)
Hi, I have been having a disagreement with another online marketing company. We are both promoting the same product under a different brand name but we ended up using the same theme to build our WordPress sites off of but in no way is the content the same. They are telling me that using the same theme in the same industry will cause a Google penalty. I do not believe this and do not see this causing a problem. The sites are relatively new so there is no proof of traffic dropping or penalties as of yet. What is everyone's professional opinion on this? Can a WordPress theme cause duplicate content penalty? If so would that not mean that anyone using themes will have some sort of penalty?

From Google Sites to Wordpress - Anyone Ventured this SEO terrain?
We have a few sites in Google Sites - and they are ugly! We have a majority (40+) of websites in Wordpress. But we have a few websites just stuck on Google Sites, and since Google won't let you fully edit the HTML, add scripts, or implement any technology since 2000, we want to move. The sad problem - the Google sites are ranking well. We rank well in Manhattan, Atlanta, Dallas, and Philadelphia. The problem is - the sites do not give much room for growth - and the bounce rate is high because they are so ugly. Has Anyone moved from Google sites to Wordpress? Should we just stay with Google and bite the ugly bullet? My fear is that these sites will not allow for growth. It is hard to update them and even harder to make them look nice. To get a sample - beware: www.counselingphiladelphia.com Even another reason to leave: The slider is non-semantic and terrible SEO. Google won't allow a slider script with tags and a hrefs, so the only way to implement a slider is through a Google Docs Presentation that keeps sliding. I know - terrible SEO (#donthate) but we needed something. Any advice and thoughts would help! Thanks Mozzers!

Type of redirect?
I'm almost ready to launch a website redesign. We are going to move what's currently being hosted on olddomain.com to newdomain.com. We want to do this early to avoid error and to have olddomain.com redirect to newdomain.com until the new content is ready. Once the redesign is complete, we'll push the new content to olddomain.com (as it holds a higher SEO value) and take away the redirect. A. Does this sound like a good idea? B. What kind of redirect should I use? 302? 307? Thanks, and sorry for the confusion 🙂
