Thank you everyone! I should have noticed this, so thanks for pointing it out.

Hi Gianluca,
Just on what you said here:
"Formally, I don't see any mistake in how the hreflang has been implemented in the 2nd url, because if you really mean to have it canonicalized toward the 1st, then is totally correct to use the canonical url in the self-referential url and the en-ie hreflang annotations."
I kind of understand what you're saying about it not being wrong, but is does the hreflang become redundant because the URL is canonicalized and doesn't validate?
For Screaming Frog, did you have it set to "Respect Canonical"? If so, could that be the reason no errors were found?
Without having access to GSC, I like to use Dejan's Hreflang Testing Tool to quickly check for hreflang errors - and it does report errors with the example URL.
Cheers,
David

I see that that product has two Urls:
- http://www.key.co.uk/en/key/0-4-tonne-wll-6mm-single-leg-wire-rope-sling-580a078n
The first one is the Url you indicate as canonical and the second one is the one that you canonicalized toward the first and where the mistake is flagged. I suppose the same happens in the .ie version.
Formally, I don't see any mistake in how the hreflang has been implemented in the 2nd url, because if you really mean to have it canonicalized toward the 1st, then is totally correct to use the canonical url in the self-referential url and the en-ie hreflang annotations.
I checked the Urls with Screaming Frog, setting it to crawl the hreflang's urls, and it doesn't show any error... so, if that kind of mistake is presented only by the SEMRush Audit... then that's a mistake of the SEMRush audit.
However, does this mistake appear in your Google Search Console?

Hi Becky,
Along the lines of what James said, it's because this is not the canonical URL for the product.
The URL is: http://www.key.co.uk/en/key/0-4-tonne-wll-6mm-single-leg-wire-rope-sling-580a078n
But your canonical and hreflang tags don't match this URL.
You will get errors for any URLs that don't have a self-referring hreflang tags, and any URLs that don't have reciprocal hreflang tags from the alternate versions specified.
I would work with your devs to only display hreflang tags on canonical URLs - not on canonicalized URLs.
Cheers,
David

Hi
It's flagging up on all pages of the site in my SEM rush audit, I just can't identify what's wrong
Thanks for checking!

HREF LANG: Different navigation/structure per country: is that a problem?
Hi all, One question about the href lang tag. Our webshop sells to 4 different countries (the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium & Spain). The navigation is a little bit different for these countries, depending on how popular certain product categories are in certain countries. So, for example: Netherlands --> Category A and B are in the top navigation
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | AMAGARD
Germany --> Category B is a subcategory of product A. We want to implement the Hreflang tag, would it be a problem that the navigation/site structure (and therefore the URL structure for certain categories) are a bit different? So: The url for category B in the Netherlands is: https://www.website.com/nl/category-B/
The url for category B in Germany is: https://www.website.com/de/category-A/category-B/ Thanks in advance! Best!0 -
Does non-critical AMP errors prevent you from being featured on Top Stories Carousel?
Consider site A which is a news publishing site that has valid AMP pages with non-critical AMP pages (as notified within Search Console). Also, Site A publishes news articles from site B (its partner site) and posts it on site A which have AMP pages too but most of them are not valid AMP pages with critical AMP errors. For brand terms like Economic Times, it does show a top stories carousel for all articles published by Economic Times, however it doesn't look the same for site A (inspite of it having valid AMP pages). Image link: http://tinypic.com/r/219bh9j/9 Now that there are valid AMP pages from site A and invalid AMP pages from site B on site A, there have been instances wherein a news article from site A features on the top stories carousel on Desktop for a certain query whereas it doesn't feature on the mobile SERPs in spite of the page being a valid AMP page. For example, as mentioned in the screenshot below: Business Today ranks on the Top Stories carousel for a term like “jio news” on Desktop, but on Mobile although the page is a valid AMP page, it doesn’t show as an AMP page within the Top Stories Carousel. Image Link: http://tinypic.com/r/11sc8j6/9 There have been some cases where although the page is featured on the top carousel on desktop, the same article doesn't show up on the mobile version for the same query on the Top Stories Carousel. What could be the reason behind this? Also, would it be necessary to solve both critical and non-critical errors on site A (including those published from site B on site A)?

LinkedIn 999 HTTP Errors
I am working on a website, https://linkedinforbusiness.net and a ton of 999 HTTP errors have only now surfaced. I would venture from reading the "Request denied" error in the log, LinkedIn means to block BLCs attempts to check those links. It might be because the site has a lot of LinkedIn links; maybe they find it suspicious that the server is sending a lot of requests for their links. How do you see this? Any fixes? What level of harm do you think it brings to the site? I have removed all similar links to LinkedIn from my site to avoid this (https://www.hillwebcreations.com). However, this isn't so easily done for LinkedIn For Business, as her work in all about helping businesses and individuals optimize their use of LinkedIn.

Not found errors (404) due to being hacked
Hi Moz Guru's Our website was hacked a few months ago, since then we have taken various measures, last one being redesigning the website all together and removing it from a WordPress platform. So far all is going well, except that the 404 not found errors keeps coming up in Google Webmaster tools. The URLs are spam pages that were created by the virus. And these spam pages have been indexed by Google, and now we are struggling to get rid of them. Is there any way we can deal with these 404 spam pages links? Is marking all of them as fixed in the webmaster tools - search console- crawl errors helpful in any way? Can this have a negative impact on the SEO ? Looking forward to your answers. Many thanks.

Duplicate page content and Duplicate page title errors
Hi, I'm new to SeoMoz and to this forum. I've started a new campaign on my site and got back loads of error. Most of them are Duplicate page content and Duplicate page title errors. I know I have some duplicate titles but I don't have any duplicate content. I'm not a web developer and not so expert but I have the impression that the crawler is following all my internal links (Infact I have also plenty of warnings saying "Too many on-page links". Do you think this is the cause of my errors? Should I implement the nofollow on all internal links? I'm working with Joomla. Thanks a lot for your help Marco
