50,000 4xx errors listed in MOZ report :(
-
HI, I've just had a look at a customers MOZ report and discovered nearly 50,000 errors listed!! The site is a non dynamic, non database driven site so where these have come from is beyond me.
Example - (Both links open in a new window)
LIVE PAGE - http://lunnonwaste.com/licenses/Heatherland-Limited-H&S-Policy-Document-JAN-15.pdf
NON EXISTANT PAGE - http://lunnonwaste.com/licenses/licenses/Heatherland-Limited-H&S-Policy-Document-JAN-15.pdf - if you hover over any links you'll see they're ALL ......./licenses/licenses/.......... which doesn't exist! It's the file system that seems to be the problem - .........../licenses/licenses/........... and this gets added onto (............./licenses/licenses/licenses/licenses/.............. , up to the 50,000 page errors LOL The problem is self replicating.
It's very odd and not something I've ever seen before, NON of these 'extra' pages are listed on the server, so where are they coming from?
Any suggestions or help would be gratefully appreciated

Hi Michael
Making a simple research "site:lunnonwaste.com" you have indexed 51 pages on Google. Which is Ok, the problem with the 404 pages probably is created in your server side for some of the scripts on it. As you mentioned this is a simple website, made it with html and css, no with any CMS, that is the reason I think is a script in your server.
The solution find the script and fix the error, meanwhile you can redirect the 404 pages to your Homepage

How to Learn a Lot from Moz Q&A
You can learn a lot from Moz Q&A without asking any questions. The way to do that is to watch for topics that you are uncertain about, then subscribe to that question by clicking the "Email Updates" button. Then, when people reply to that topic, you will be able to read what they have to say and will likely learn many things (and see a few entertaining arguments 🙂 Give it a try. Question for Moz developers - Highcharts?
So, I see that Moz is using Highcharts as it's charting display engine. What made you decide to use them instead of some of the other solutions out there, like FusionCharts or Google Charts, even creating your own home-made creation?
Moz Pro | | MrSchadow
Our company is starting over from scratch with reports/charts and are looking at other solutions than what we currently are using (fusioncharts/fusion widgets). And I wanted to get feedback on why you chose this route over any other. Thanks!!0 -
When I did my first crawl, I was given some errors.
Do I then need to re-crawl to make sure the errors were fixed accordingly?

SEO Moz Rank Report
Anyone else noticing the rank reporting seems to be off? My reports are showing "not in top 50" for some keywords that my site is on page one for. Not in places listings either because I know that can throw things off! Anyone?

How to trace 4XX errors in campaign data?
I am trying to resolve a number of 4XX (Client Error) issues noted in my campaign report, but I have no idea where they are originating. All I get is the broken link, the status code, the page authority and the number of linking root domains. How do I identify where the erroring link originates? Is it coming from within my website, or from an external website? I have gone through my site in great detail looking for these links, but can't find any evidence of them. I also use a broken link detection plugin and it reports no problems whatsoever. Is there a way I can drill down into these 404 links and get more detail about where they are coming from?

In my errors I have 2 different products on the same page?
Hello, I have 2039 duplicate page errors and most of them are 2 different products on 1 page, I haven't set it up in the CMS, how has this happened? here's 2 examples, the 1st example has ghd's on the back of a different brand and the 2nd has gift packs on the back of the same brand 'rockaholic'? and what does 'norec' mean? http://www.thehairroom.co.uk/Tigi-Rockaholic-797658/ghd-straightening-irons/norec http://www.thehairroom.co.uk/Tigi-Rockaholic-797658/tigi-bed-head-gift-packs/norec Thanks Mark

Crawl reports urls with duplicate content but its not the case
Hi guys!
Moz Pro | | MakMour
Some hours ago I received my crawl report. I noticed several records with urls with duplicate content so I went to open those urls one by one.
Not one of those urls were really with duplicate content but I have a concern because website is about product showcase and many articles are just images with href behind them. Many of those articles are using the same images so maybe thats why the seomoz crawler duplicate content flag is raised. I wonder if Google has problem with that too. See for yourself how it looks like: http://by.vg/NJ97y
http://by.vg/BQypE Those two url's are flagged as duplicates...please mind the language(Greek) and try to focus on the urls and content. ps: my example is simplified just for the purpose of my question. <colgroup><col width="3436"></colgroup>
