Quality Traffic - Terrible Results
-
Hello all,
I have been working hard on my SEO (and SEM) to the point where I'm getting plenty of traffic from my targeted keywords.
The only problem is that none of this people are becoming leads (the goal for our business).
Anything jump out about these pages in terms of how to get people more likely to get to the form page?
www.enertiv.com/solutions/
www.enertiv.com/solutions/asset-intelligence
www.enertiv.com/solutions/automatic-tenant-submetering
www.enertiv.com/solutions/enertiv-two-meterAnything on the form page that could be optimized to drive more form completions?
Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

@Enertiv Hello,
It sounds like you've made significant progress with your SEO and SEM efforts, driving plenty of traffic to your website. However, the challenge lies in converting this traffic into leads, which is crucial for your business.
When it comes to optimizing your pages for conversion, one important aspect to consider is the quality of traffic you're attracting. While increasing traffic is essential, it's equally important to ensure that the visitors coming to your site are genuinely interested in your offerings and are likely to convert into leads.
Upon reviewing your pages, such as www.enertiv.com/solutions/ and its subpages like www.enertiv.com/solutions/asset-intelligence, www.enertiv.com/solutions/automatic-tenant-submetering, and www.enertiv.com/solutions/enertiv-two-meter, it's essential to focus on aligning the content with the intent of the visitors. Ensure that the messaging is clear, highlighting the benefits and value proposition of your solutions. Use compelling visuals, customer testimonials, and case studies to reinforce credibility and persuade visitors to take action.
Regarding the form page (www.enertiv.com/get-started), optimizing it for conversions involves several key elements. Firstly, streamline the form fields, keeping only the essential information required to initiate contact. Long and cumbersome forms can deter users from completing them. Additionally, consider implementing persuasive copy and clear calls-to-action (CTAs) that prompt visitors to fill out the form. Offering incentives such as free trials, demos, or exclusive content can further incentivize form completions.
In terms of driving more quality traffic to your form page, focus on targeting relevant keywords and audiences in your SEO and SEM campaigns. Utilize keyword research tools to identify high-intent keywords related to your solutions, and optimize your content and ad campaigns accordingly. Leverage targeting options offered by platforms like PropellerAds to reach audiences interested in energy management solutions, ensuring that your ads are displayed to the right people at the right time.
By optimizing your pages for conversion and driving quality traffic to your form page, you can increase the likelihood of generating leads and ultimately achieving your business goals.
Best of luck with your optimization efforts!
Warm regards,
Pasha

Hey Ramon,
Thanks - that's very helpful. The chat problem was actually a bug I hadn't noticed, so very glad you pointed that out.
I am a big believer in A/B testing, but I haven't been able to truly move the needle yet. I will keep trying different options.
We're still working on organic (we're doing well on Tenant Submetering), I knew that we're getting targeted traffic from our Adwords.
Thanks for the input!

Hi Enertiv,
There are many things you can try like using the form on the page itself (instead of the user having to click on "schedule demo" to get to the page of the form) also there is a small disconnect on the words used, so better would be to have the text on the action button under the form also using "schedule demo" rather than "submit".
You can use testimonials from authority clients in your niche to aid the credibility of the company / product. And therefore get users to more easily convert.
you also had a chat appearing asking me if i would like to receive a case study (good idea) but it disapeared when i visited another page and i couldn´t get it back to appear. you could keep it sticky and let users close it.
like i said there are many things you can do, but i didnt see any maior critical thing on your page, it´s many times also an issue of trying out several different approaches and AB test them. several companies have great advice on this https://blog.hubspot.com/marketing/high-converting-landing-pages or https://unbounce.com/101-landing-page-optimization-tips/ amongst others.
you also say you got a plenty of traffic of the keywords you are targeting, how are you actually monitoring this? Because for some of the main keywords you are targeting on those pages(like building solutions, submetering, building diagnostics, utility submetering) i couldn´t find Enertiv in the SERP.
Another way to go would be to invest some money in Adwords so you can control better the traffic you get for each keyword and the amount so you can easier test different versions of your page to optimize the conversions.
No eureka moment, but i hope it helps

Website Redesign & Ensuring Minimal Traffic/Rankings Lost
Hi there, We have undergone a website redesign (mycompany.com) and our site is ready to go live however the new website is built on a different platform so all of our blog pages will not be copied over - to avoid a large web developer expense. So our intention is to then leave all the blog pages as (on the old web design) but move it to the domain blog.mycompany.com with 301 redirects inserted on mycompany.com for each blog post pointing to the corresponding blog.mycompany.com. Is there anything else we should do to ensure minimal traffic/rankings are lost? Thank you so much for your help.

Missing trailing slash in URL on subpages resulting in Moz PA of 1
Even here in moz community I am noticing it. Is it really a factor to have an ending slash on the page? Does it make a difference? Our website has a homepage PA of 63, DA of 56 but all of our sub-pages are just 1 and they have been up for 4 months.

New Mobile Site Traffic Drop
With all the talk about how much mobile is important and how it is going to return its own search results, we finally decided to make a mobile site for one of our smaller websites to test the water. We put it up about two weeks ago and did Vary HTTP header method to serve the site. Before the change, on the average week we would get 270-300 mobile visitors from organic search results and we converted 0.78% to sales. Since the change, we are now getting about 70 mobile organic visitors per week but converting 2.47% So what can I say but WOW. We are converting way way better but our organic mobile search traffic has dropped off a ton. Luckily our desktop and tablet traffic(we serve the desktop version of the site to tablets) has stayed the same and has not dipped. Do any of you guys have experience or gone through launching a mobile site before? Did you see the immediate drop in organic mobile traffic and did you recover your traffic back to previous levels? If so, do you know how long it takes to recover? I am thinking it is a big change and will take time for Google to adjust but I am not sure since the mobile version has so much less text now on the home page and on category or product list pages or whatever you guys want to call them.

Mega Dropdown Menus affect SEO results?
Our e-commerce website http://www.autoidsavings.com has a mega multi-level dropdown menu on top that we wanted to re-design. The real problem is the Shop By Brand menu which hovers down to 4 level at most. Our options are: 1. Limit the dropdown menu to 2 levels total. (currently have 4 levels the most) 2. Completely remove Shop By Brand Menu and create a page like https://www.cdw.com/content/brands/?cm_sp=GlobalHeader--Products|Brands--Home My concern is that will either changes help or destroy our SEO results?

Increasing content, adding rich snippets... and losing tremendous amounts of organic traffic. Help!
I know dramatic losses in organic traffic is a common occurrence, but having looked through the archives I'm not sure that there's a recent case that replicates my situation. I've been working to increase the content on my company's website and to advise it on online marketing practices. To that end, in the past four months, I've created about 20% more pages — most of which are very high quality blog posts; adopted some rich snippets (though not all that I would like to see at this point); improved and increased internal links within the site; removed some "suspicious" pages as id'd by Moz that had a lot of links on it (although the content was actually genuine navigation); and I've also begun to guest blog. All of the blog content I've written has been connected to my G+ account, including most of the guest blogging. And... our organic traffic is preciptiously declining. Across the board. I'm befuddled. I can see no warnings (redirects &c) that would explain this. We haven't changed the site structure much — I think the most invasive thing we did was optimize our title tags! So no URL changes, nothing. Obviously, we're all questioning all the work I've done. It just seems like we've sunk SO much energy into "doing the right thing" to no effect (this site was slammed before for its shady backlink buying — though not from any direct penalty, just as a result of the Penguin update). We noticed traffic taking a particular plunge at the beginning of June. Can anyone offer insights? Very much appreciated.

Switched From Wordpress, Traffic Dropped In Half
Hello, Thank you for taking a look at my issue. My site: http://www.getrightmusic.com A month ago, I switched from Wordpress to ExpressionEngine. The reason being I wanted a more powerful membership functionality with media uploading. After I switched, my traffic basically dropped in half. I was averaging around 4-6,000 unique visitors per day and now I am at about 2,000 per day. I resubmitted a new sitemap to Google webmasters. I also set up 301 redirects on my top 80 urls that were ranking well and driving traffic in Google. Not only did Google kick me off of my top spots in the SERP's, but I no longer get indexed as quickly as I used to. With the old Wordpress site I would get url's indexed within minutes. Now they aren't even getting indexed really at all. Is this a normal occurrence when switching site designs and systems? Do you think Google will just take a little time before they give me back some respect? Is there anything I should be doing to get back to ranking and getting indexed faster? Thanks for any help or any insight you may have. Jesse

Where to find high quality (affordable) web designers?
Hi everyone, I am looking for find high quality web designers that are affordable. I am open to many options. There are several things I have looked into. 1. I have looked for designers via CSS galleries, but I don't really know how to get in touch with designers or find them. Rand recently talked about this in a webinar, but if anyone has specific insights on how to find people this way, please let me know. 2. I have also looked into website design contests from sites such as: DesignCrowd.com 99designs.com CrowdSpring.com DesignContest.com I haven't used these services and I was wondering if anyone has experience with design contests. 3. I have looked into the option of hiring a freelancer on oDesk or a similar freelancer site. I don't really know the cost, how to find a good designer, how to avoid inexperienced but cheap designers and all the other such roadblocks that come along with freelancers. If anyone could provide insight into this, it would be greatly appreciated.
