Will redirecting a logged in user from a public page to an equivalent private page (not visible to google) impact SEO?

Hi,

We have public pages that can obviously be visited by our registered members. When they visit these public pages + they are logged in to our site, we want to redirect them to the equivalent (richer) page on the private site e.g. a logged in user visiting /public/contentA will be redirected to /private/contentA

Note: Our /public pages are indexed by Google whereas /private pages are excluded.

a) will this affect our SEO?

b) if not, is 302 the best http status code to use?

Tough SEO problem, Google not caching page correctly

My web site is http://www.mercimamanboutique.com/ Cached version of French version is, cache:www.mercimamanboutique.com/fr-fr/ showing incorrectly The German version: cache:www.mercimamanboutique.com/de-de/ is showing correctly. I have resubmitted site links, and asked Google re-index the web site many times. The German version always gets cached properly, but the French version never does. This is frustrating me, any idea why? Thanks.

Google Deindexing Site, but Reindexing 301 Redirected Version

A bit of a strange one, a client's .com site has recently been losing rankings on a daily basis, but traffic has barely budged. After some investigation, I found that the .co.uk domain (which has been 301 redirected for some years) has recently been indexed by Google. According to Ahrefs the .co.uk domain started gaining some rankings in early September, which has increased daily. All of these rankings are effectively being stolen from the .com site (but due to the 301 redirect, the site loses no traffic), so as one keyword disappears from the .com's ranking, it reappears on the .co.uk's ranking report. Even searching for the brand name now brings up the .co.uk version of the domain whereas less than a week ago the brand name brought up the .com domain. The redirects are all working fine. There's no instance of any URLs on the site or in the sitemaps leading to the .co.uk domain. The .co.uk domain does not have any backlinks except for a single results page on ask.com. The site hasn't recently had any design or development done, the last changes being made in June. Has anyone encountered this before? I'm not entirely sure how or why Google would start indexing 301'd URLs after several years of not indexing these.

Why Google ranks a page with Meta Robots: NO INDEX, NO FOLLOW?

Hi guys, I was playing with the new OSE when I found out a weird thing: if you Google "performing arts school london" you will see w w w . mountview . org. uk at the 3rd position. The point is that page has "Meta Robots: NO INDEX, NO FOLLOW", why Google indexed it? Here you can see the robots.txt allows Google to index the URL but not the content, in article they also say the meta robots tag will properly avoid Google from indexing the URL either. Apparently, in my case that page is the only one has the tag "NO INDEX, NO FOLLOW", but it's the home page. so I said to myself: OK, perhaps they have just changed that tag therefore Google needs time to re-crawl that page and de-index following the no index tag. How long do you think it will take to don't see that page indexed? Do you think it will effect the whole website, as I suppose if you have that tag on your home page (the root domain) you will lose a lot of links' juice - it's totally unnatural a backlinks profile without links to a root domain? Will a 303 redirect hurt us?

Our membership based website is using a 303 redirect to handle the redirection of users back to the login page when those users try to access a page behind the logged in firewall. Said another way, if a user is not yet logged in, we redirect them to the login page using a 303 redirection. Unfortunately, Googlebot get this redirection too and after a recent audit, we're thinking this isn't the best way to handle this. For pages which require a user to login first, should we: A) index and 303 redirect to the login page (what we are currently doing) B) index and 302 redirect to the login page C) noindex those pages D) Remove any special treatment and let Google figure it out. Redirecting website page to another

Hi there one of my old pages on my site is currently ranking for a phrases that I want to rank for on a new page I created. My old page from 1 year ago is ranking for 'Property Management Training' (it's a blog post dating 2011) I have cretaed a new main Page on my site and would like to rank for 'Property Management' as it's more relevant. What is the best suggestion to keep my ranking but have people go to my new page? 301 redirect old page to new page? Thanks,

Quick Seo question regarding 301 redirect

Hi everyone and thank you for showing interested in my problem and for helping me out with this easy thing i have going on Here is how it puts out : I have 2 websites, same niche, mostly same keywords. Site #1 holding strong on google #2 ranking for months now. Site #2 was holding strong in google top 10 rankings until 2 weeks ago when it got sandboxed for some reason I want to use a 301 permanent redirect from Site #2 to Site #1 to pass all the link juice onto Site #1 and hopefully beat the #1 spot The question: Will this affect Site #1 is anyway, considering Site #2 is in somehow sandbox ( i assume that, since he dropped more then 70 positions over night ) Is thins a good think to do or i risk damaging Site #1 by doing this ? Level 1 Child Redirect to Level 3 (SEO)

Hi Guys, I'd like to get an SEO point of view on Redirecting Level 1 Pages (ie: main pages) to Level 3. I'm not a web-developer but lately I'm noticing a lot of main nav bar tabs redirected to child pages. When I go to click on what I assume is my main Motorcycle Level One Page the url looks something like this. example.com/motorcycles/bandit/cb600-hornet Essentially there is no content in the first 2 levels, how will this affect my SEO efforts? Also, is there any point adding in title and description tags for these 2 levels seems as there is no content? SEO advise would be appreciated, thank you.
