Why Is this page de-indexed?
-
I have dropped out for all my first page KWDs for this page
https://www.key.co.uk/en/key/dollies-load-movers-door-skates
Can anyone see an issue?
I am trying to find one....
We did just migrate to HTTPS but other areas have no problem
-
Hi
Yes, there was an issue with my rank tracking software - phew
Thank you
-
OK great thanks for your help
I'll keep an eye on everything
-
You are 5th for Heavy Duty Dolly
I don't see what the problem is - the page is doing really well??
Regards
Nigel

This is not an issue.
Its totally normal to have some http indexed pages left. Even more common if the migration is recent. Dont be afraid of this Becky.

Yeap, give it a little time to google re-crawl all the new site. I´d give it nearley a month to consider that google has seen completely the new version of the site, always checking the number of indexed pages in GSC and the resuls appearing for a site: search
Being out of top 100 gives you a clue that you are in the middle of the transition.and for the keyword: _Heavy Duty Dolly; _ I do see your page. Check attached image.
Best luck.

Hi Becky
I just searched in a normal browser so it could be Google skewing the results for you.
For indexed pages
site:key.co.uk inurl:http:

How did you find these http pages?
I did a search in Incognito, but I couldn't see anything myself.
I'll try again, thanks!

Hi
Thanks for this. Yes I've checked in Google Console, I can find the page in indexed pages but the indexed pages are a lot less since migration:
HTTP - indexed 13013, blocked 12,891
HTTPS - indexed - 2814 / blocked robots.txt 5713
Do I just wait?
One keyword example for that page would be #Heavy Duty Dolly' & 'load moving dolly'
Were position 1 now out of top 100.
We're working on page speed/load time for the whole site, but why would it affect that one page so badly?
-
Hi Becky,
Without knoing those relevant search terms, there's almost no analysis to be done.
I´ve noticed that it took very long time to load, here a GTmetrix report.Remember that migrating to HTTPs makes google to re-crawl all your website's pages and re evaluate all ranking factors.
My advise is to wait a little longer. It might take a few weeks. Also, always monitor the Google Search console profile, there could be some message. Take a look into indexed pages, there could be also that there are less pages indexed now than before migration.
Hope I've helped.
Best luck.

Hi Becky
Load Movers - Pos 3
Wooden dollies - Pos 1Maybe open an incognito browser with history cleared.
I don't see a problem
Regards
Nigel
PS You still have 748 http pages indexed but it's only 10% of the total

How long should it take for indexed pages to update
Google has crawled and indexed my new site, but my old URLS appear in the search results. Is there a typical amount of time that it takes for Google to update the URL's displayed in search results?

Should my back links go to home page or internal pages
Right now we rank on page 2 for many KWs, so should i now focus my attention on getting links to my home page to build domain authority or continue to direct links to the internal pages for specific KWs? I am about to write some articles for several good ranking sites and want to know whether to link my company name (same as domain name) or KW to the home page or use individual KWs to the internal pages - I am only allowed one link per article to my site. Thanks Ash

How to associate content on one page to another page
Hi all, I would like associate content on "Page A" with "Page B". The content is not the same, but we want to tell Google it should be associated. Is there an easy way to do this?

I have removed over 2000+ pages but Google still says i have 3000+ pages indexed
Good Afternoon, I run a office equipment website called top4office.co.uk. My predecessor decided that he would make an exact copy of the content on our existing site top4office.com and place it on the top4office.co.uk domain which included over 2k of thin pages. Since coming in i have hired a copywriter who has rewritten all the important content and I have removed over 2k pages of thin pages. I have set up 301's and blocked the thin pages using robots.txt and then used Google's removal tool to remove the pages from the index which was successfully done. But, although they were removed and can now longer be found in Google, when i use site:top4office.co.uk i still have over 3k of indexed pages (Originally i had 3700). Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening and more importantly how i can fix it? Our ranking on this site is woeful in comparison to what it was in 2011. I have a deadline and was wondering how quickly, in your opinion, do you think all these changes will impact my SERPs rankings? Look forward to your responses!

Why do my https pages index while noindexed?
I have some tag pages on one of my sites that I meta noindexed. This worked for the http version, which they are canonical'd to but now the https:// version is indexing. The https version is both noindexed and has a canonical to the http version, but they still show up! I even have wordpress set up to redirect all https: to http! For some reason these pages are STILL showing in the SERPS though. Any experience or advice would be greatly appreciated. Example page: https://www.michaelpadway.com/tag/insurance-coverage/ Thanks all!

How Long Does it Take for Rel Canonical to De-Index / Re-Index a Page?
Hi Mozzers, We have 2 e-commerce websites, Website A and Website B, sharing thousands of pages with duplicate product descriptions. Currently only the product pages on Website B are indexing, and we want Website A indexed instead. We added the rel canonical tag on each of Website B's product pages with a link towards the matching product on Page A. How long until Website B gets de-indexed and Website A gets indexed instead? Did we add the rel canonical tag correctly? Thanks!

Can use of the id attribute to anchor t text down a page cause page duplication issues?
I am producing a long glossary of terms and want to make it easier to jump down to various terms. I am using the<a id="anchor-text" ="" attribute="" so="" am="" appending="" #anchor-text="" to="" a="" url="" reach="" the="" correct="" spot<="" p=""></a> <a id="anchor-text" ="" attribute="" so="" am="" appending="" #anchor-text="" to="" a="" url="" reach="" the="" correct="" spot<="" p="">Does anyone know whether Google will pick this up as separate duplicate pages?</a> <a id="anchor-text" ="" attribute="" so="" am="" appending="" #anchor-text="" to="" a="" url="" reach="" the="" correct="" spot<="" p="">If so any ideas on what I can do? Apart from not do it to start with? I am thinking 301s won't work as I want the URL to work. And rel=canonical won't work as there is no actual page code to add it to. Many thanks for your help Wendy</a>

Landing Page - Home Page redesign SEO factor question - Serious concern.
Hi Folks, I'm considering making a big change to our website and really need some expert advise. Will we lose ranking if we do what I propose? Our site www.meninkilts.com, needs to split users/clients by "Commercial" and "Residential" so we can message/market completely differently to each client. We are considering doing this structure: Landing Page | | Commercial Homepage Residential Homepage Right now we rank well, for our keywords like "Window Cleaning cityname" but are worried that adding a landing page, and splitting our site to two homepages will effect seo (ie: a landing page would only have two buttons: one for commercial and one for residential). What would be the best way to handle this. Looking forward to your insights! Cheers Brent
