Moz Not Crawling Angular SPA
-
I have a client that just launched a redesigned website using Angular as a single page app. Google appears to be able to crawl the site just fine, but Moz crawl is only finding one page. We have updated the htaccess to allow for Rogerbot and Dotbot, but still unable to crawl any pages other than the home page. Does anyone have experience with this or ideas of why it won't crawl all pages, and how to allow for Moz to crawl all pages? There is a sitemap with approx. 390 pages.
Thanks!

I recommended to another Moz agent that it put a clearer warning label to users that Moz Pro's on-page grader and site crawl will not work with single page apps. Alternatively, I'd have a pop-up if the Moz tools run and come up with results like the ones the poster described. I ran into the same issue.

Hi!
One way to get around this one is making use of pre-rendering. So if you setup your site/server to pre-render your pages either for all user agents, or specifically for MozBot and other bots not capable of crawling through JavaScript then it might work.
Facing the same issue for us now, but will try this at least.
Best regards,

Thank you very much for your quick response. I'm taking a look at the Q&A section and the tools you recommended. I appreciate your help!

Hi there! Tawny from Moz's Help Team here.
Thanks for writing in and sorry about the trouble!
I took a look at your Site Crawl results and your site, and I believe this is a result of our crawler's inability to work with Javascript. If your site is primarily Javascript, then the data you get back with regards to the crawl report won't be completely accurate because of this. It looks like, due to the Javascript on the page, we weren't able to find any links to keep crawling: https://www.screencast.com/t/mqy7SUb9f
There's no real workaround that I can recommend for this one, since it is a technical limitation of our tools, but I did find some good blog posts and discussions in the Q&A about this when I searched our Help Hub.
While the tools and data that rely on our crawl of your site may not return the best results because of that Javascript, your keyword rankings and link profile should work just fine.
You might also want to check out a few tools that are compatible with Javascript, like Botify or Screaming Frog.
I'm really sorry I can't be of more help here; I'll definitely be sure to pass this along to our Product team as feedback on your behalf. If you have any follow-up questions or if there's anything else you need help with, please write in to help@moz.com and we'll do our best to sort everything out.

Moz not able to crawl our site - any advice?
When I try and crawl our site through Moz it gives this message: Moz was unable to crawl your site on Aug 7, 2019. Our crawler was banned by a page on your site, either through your robots.txt, the X-Robots-Tag HTTP header, or the meta robots tag. Update these tags to allow your page and the rest of your site to be crawled. If this error is found on any page on your site, it prevents our crawler (and some search engines) from crawling the rest of your site. Typically errors like this should be investigated and fixed by the site webmaster. I have been through all the help and doesn't seem to be any issues. You can check the site and robots.txt here: https://myfamilyclub.co.uk/robots.txt. Anyone got any advice on where I could go to get this sorted?

My page can not be crawled
Hi all,Hope you could you help me here.I just seen this message but I don't know how to fix it?"Your page redirects or links to a page that is outside of the scope of your campaign settings. Your campaign is limited to pages with _____ in the URL path, which prevents us from crawling through the redirect or the links on your page. To enable a full crawl of your site, you may need to create a new campaign with a broader scope, adjust your redirects, or add links to other pages that include ig.com/de. Typically errors like this should be investigated and fixed by the site webmaster."Any ideas about how should I fix it?Thanks

What is the IP address of the MOZ crawlbot?
Our preproduction site is restricted to a specific IP range. Prelaunch I'd like to use MOZ to check the site but this obviously isn't currently possible. Is there an IP range I can whitelist ?

I connected a MOZ campaign to a client's Analytics. It seems it's connected properly with the same Analytics ID # and everything, but the stats still show 0 in MOZ, even though there are thousands of visits in Analytics for the same date range. Pls help! Derek

High Number of Crawl Errors for Blog
Hello All, We have been having an issue with very high crawl errors on websites that contain blogs. Here is a screenshot of one of the sites we are dealing with: http://cl.ly/image/0i2Q2O100p2v . Looking through the links that are turning up in the crawl errors, the majority of them (roughly 90%) are auto-generated by the blog's system. This includes category/tag links, archived links, etc. A few examples being: http://www.mysite.com/2004/10/ http://www.mysite.com/2004/10/17/ http://www.mysite.com/tagname As far as I know (please correct me if I'm wrong!), search engines will not penalize you for things like this that appear on auto-generated pages. Also, even if search engines did penalize you, I do not believe we can make a unique meta tag for auto-generate pages. Regardless, our client is very concerned seeing these high number of errors in the reports, even though we have explained the situation to him. Would anyone have any suggestions on how to either 1) tell Moz to ignore these types of errors or 2) adjust the website so that these errors now longer appear in the reports? Thanks so much! Rebecca
