Use existing page with bad URL or brand new URL?

Hello,
We will be updating an existing page with more helpful information with the goal of reaching more potential customers through SEO and also attaching a SEM campaign to the specific landing page.
The current URL of the page scores 25 on Page Authority, and has 2 links to it from blog articles (PA 35, 31).
The current content needs to be rewritten to be more helpful and also needs some additional information. The downsides are that it has an "bad" URL- no target keyword and uses underscores.
Which of the following choices would you make?
1. Update this old "bad" URL with new content. Benefit from the existing PA.
-or-
2. Start with a new optimized URL, reusing some of the old content and utilizing a 301 redirect from the previous page?

I would go with option 2, just update the URL, and then add a 301 redirect from old URL to new URL, so it doesn't cause any broken links. We have done this on our website and seen great results with updating it to include a target keyword.
For example, we had a URL- https://seo-kansas-city.com/services/google-adwords-campaigns/, and then around December of this past year we decided to update it to https://seo-kansas-city.com/services/ppc/, in order to help rank for "ppc kansas city". We added a 301 redirect of course, to avoid any broken links or loss of page authority.
Our results from making this change (and added a little more content to the page) led us to move from position 16-19 on page 2 of Google, to now ranking in position 3-5 on page 1 of Google.

I'd go with the option 2.
Keep into consideration that Google said redirects 3xx does not loose any PR, linkjuice or whatever ranking power. Also there are some experiments performed by great people that stated there is a 10-15% loss in the redirect.

After you remove a 301 redirect that Google has processed, will the new URL retain any of the link equity from the old URL?
Lets say you 301 redirect URL A to URL B, and URL A has some backlinks from other sites. Say you left the 301 redirect in place for a year, and Google had already replaced the old URL with the new URL in the SERPs, would the new URL (B) retain some of the link equity from URL A after the 301 redirect was removed, or does the redirect have to remain in place forever?

How to explain "No Return Tags" Error from non-existing page?
In the Search Console of our Google Webmaster account we see 3 "no return tags" errors. The attached screenshot shows the detail of one of these errors. I know that annotations must be confirmed from the pages they are pointing to. If page A links to page B, page B must link back to page A, otherwise the annotations may not be interpreted correctly. 150+ Pages of URL Parameters - Mass Duplicate Content Issue?
Hi we run a large e-commerce site and while doing some checking through GWT we came across these URL parameters and are now wondering if we have a duplicate content issue. If so, we are wodnering what is the best way to fix them, is this a task with GWT or a Rel:Canonical task? Many of the urls are driven from the filters in our category pages and are coming up like this: page04%3Fpage04%3Fpage04%3Fpage04%3F (See the image for more). Does anyone know if these links are duplicate content and if so how should we handle them? Richard I7SKvHS

Strange URL redirecting to my new site
Hi all, I recently relaunched a site on a brand new URL - www.boardwarehouse.co.uk. I've spent the last couple of weeks building some backlinks as well as developing a basic content strategy. We've started ranking for a few of our less competitive keywords which is great, however there's a strange site which either redirects or is mirroring our content. I'm at a complete loss as to what's causing this to happen and what i can do to stop it. On the attachment - my content is top and second. The fourth result is the offending site. Using 302s to redirect pages returning in 6 months
We are doing a 2-phase site redesign (in order to meet a deadline). An entire section of the site will not be available in the first phase, but will come back in 6 months. The question is, do we use 301s or 302s for those pages that will be coming back in 6 months? Is there a time limit on what is considered "temporary"? thanks in advance!

Why can't i get the page if i type/paste url directly?
Hello, just click the following link, http://www.tuscany-cooking-class.com/es/alojamiento/villa-pandolfini/ It might be show the 404 page, but follow this way, www.tuscany-cooking-class.com/es then select alojamiento link, then select first property name with villa-pandolfini, Now you can view the page content, why it behave like this, We are using joomla with customized. Redirect non-www if using canonical url?
I have setup my website to use canonical urls on each page to point to the page i wish Google to refer to. At the moment, my non-www domain name is not redirected to www domain. Is this required if i have setup the canonical urls? This is the tag i have on my index.php page rel="canonical" href="http://www.mydomain.com.au" /> If i browse to http://mydomain.com.au should the link juice pass to http://www.armourbackups.com.au? Will this solve duplicate content problems? Thanks

How do I eliminate duplicate url, duplicate title issues using Joomla CMS?
We have a site using Joomla CMS, integrated with Jreviews and Jomsocial. Utilizing ACE SEF to generate Dynamic URL structure. Our issue is that we are recieving multiple instances of duplicate url's and duplicate titles due to the way joomla is working with jreviews for all our 7,000+ business listings. Site is already ranked for many broad/national keywords, concerned that our state and local rankings are limited by these errors. How can we prevent this from happening without re-writing the entire website?
