Question on changing URL structures
-
We have a lot of "Long URL" errors in moz, and our URLs have no helpful format to them. For example, our blog URLs currently have a date and the title so they end up looking like this: blog/year/month/day/long title that never ends.
If I were to setup a new URL structure using MOZ best practices, can I just make the change going forward and redirect a few high trafficked links to this new structure? Or do I really need to make the change for the website (specifically blog) as a whole to see a positive impact? I know this means there may be an initial drop in traffic which I'd like to avoid.

Be very careful about changing hierarchy or structure. It does have an effect on where the pages rank.
Any pages that are ranking well (i.e. position 0 to 5) don't even touch them, in fact anything on the first page I would be slow to alter without very good reason.
Anything that is on the second page or worse you haven't got a lot to lose, so restructuring probably would make sense.

Hey there,
I assume you're using WordPress default permalink structure. If your site is a large blog I would recommend to check out yoast premium plugin which allows you to set up the 301 redirect at once when you change the permalink structure. If it's a small blog you can do that with other free plugins that help set up 301 redirects as well.

To get the full benefit of changing the link structure it's probably a good idea to structure the whole thing correctly as opposed to just throwing it on top of the links you have now. As long as you do the redirects right, it should be a smooth process.

Do we get "Removal of "nofollow" from first custom URL on profile" when we cross 200 Moz Points? I have not received it yet, anything I can do?
Though I have only recently subscribed to Moz Pro, I have been using Moz Blog for quite some time. I recently crossed 200 Moz Points. As per Moz Points, it says "Removal of "nofollow" from first custom URL on profile" for crossing 200 points. I still dont see any links from Moz when I am using OSE. Can anyone suggest what i need to do?

How to change the compare date range on the keyword rankings report?
I'm new to SEO Moz, but not to SEO. I like SEOMoz's keyword rankings, but I also like to show clients improvement (hopefully) from the previous months' ranks. The default appears to be 1-week. How can you show improvement/decline from the previous month?

Page authority questions?
I've been analyzing some IT communities ...in order to check how relevant is the page authority vs PageRank. I found one main site which is organized by "communities'..and every community is a sub-domain. The root domain has an authority of 90/100 which it should be great......so the sub-domains "inherit" part of this authority.... Until here everything seems to be perfect. However, I went deeper and I picked one of these communities. Analyzing the "Linking Root Domain" I discovered it only has only 5 root domains pointing to its home page. Those 5 Root Domains have generated more than 134k links. That doesn't seem to be "natural". Checking those 5 Root Domains I discovered that they have been registered by the same Root Domain site. Ex: Main domain: Domain.com Community1.domain.com Community2.domain.com.... Linking Root Domains: DomainXY.com DomainABC.com DomainRST.com DomainFGH.com DomainOPQ.com It seems to me that it is easy to cheat the authority domain score. Just creating others sites developing the same topic and generating back links to your main domain

The keyword ranking report takes into account all my website urls? Can I specify the URLs where I want to track the keywords?
I don't know if my weekly reports are reporting the ranking of my keywords correctly. I have added some new keywords, since that all my reports are in red numbers. I don't know if this is happening because I did something wrong, or if is because my rankings are really falling down.

Not really a question.
Hello Mozzers, I just logged into my account and after what has felt like a few months of on site work I finally see ZERO errors across the board for my main campaign with SEO Moz! I just wanted to share that with everyone because at one point above the errors were in the 5,000 range. It was causing penalties and weight in serps, but now thanks to SEO Moz and the help that I have received in the Q&A section, I have corrected all the errors! So, thank you to SEOMOZ and the pro community very very much!!! As a discussion though, how are the errors with most other users? Are you typically always seeing no errors, a few errors or a lot of errors for your campaigns? Thanks! Jesse

Where can I view all of the Questions that I have Subscribed to?
I recently asked a question about viewing the questions I have answered already: http://www.seomoz.org/q/where-can-i-view-all-of-the-questions-that-i-have-answered It turns out the link was right under my nose (but it appears a lot of people were having this issue). I'm now having the problem of not being able to see where I can view all the Q&As that I have subscribed to. Again, I may just be missing a link that's right in front of me but it certainly isn't obvious. Any help much appreciated!
