Singular / Plural

Hi SEOmoz staff
I'm doing on a French website that sells Wall Stickers. The main French keyword therefore is:
- stickers muraux (wall stickers)
- sticker mural (wall sticker)
When you look at my homepage title; I've put the singular and plural in there. Do you think it hurts my website? Should I eliminate my least favorite one (= sticker mural)?
Any other advice?
Thank you!
Jacob from Belgium

Julich. I've added the tags and I got onto page 1, position 8. I've been building links as well but this might have added value. Thanks for the suggestion.

Inserted H2's. Let's see.

Good suggestions. Will try that.

Hi Petra
Thanks for your feedback. I got worried because Google bolds the plural and singular keywords when searching for e.g. plural (stickers muraux). Usually I go with plural but in French the singular is not just -s

Google is getting better and better at recognizing that singluar and plural are related terms but it can never hurt to have both versions as long as both are relevant to your site.

Hi Jacob,
This clearly won't hurt your website / rankings. Try also to put some
once with "Sticker mural" and another time with "Stickers muraux".

Hi Jacob,
it's a good ideal to put the plural and singular version in the title and won't hurt your website. Like that you cover both versions and it can be indeed a difference in the search results if you write the word in singular or in plural version.
You always have to take care that it don't look to spamy not to scare off the users but your title looks fine to me.

Rel=canonical vs noindex/follow - tabs with individual URLs
Hi everyone I've got a situation that I haven't seen in quite this way before. I would like some advice on whether I should be rel=canonicalzing of noindexing/following a range of pages on a clients website. I've just started working on a website that creates individual URLs for tabs within each page which has resulted in several URLs being created for each listing: Example URLs: hotel-downtown-calgary hotel-downtown-calgary/gallery?tab hotel-downtown-calgary?tab hotel-downtown-calgary/map?tab hotel-downtown-calgary/facilities?tab hotel-downtown-calgary/reviews?tab hotel-downtown-calgary/in-the-area?tab Google has indexed over 1500 pages with the "?tab" parameter (there are 4380 page indexed for the site in total), and also seems to be indexing some of these pages without the "?tab" parameter i.e. ("hotel-downtown-calgary/reviews" instead of "hotel-downtown-calgary/reviews?tab") so the amount of potential duplication could be more. These tabbed pages are getting minimal traffic from organic search, so I've got no issues with taking them out of the index - the question is how. There are the issues I see: Each tab has the same title as the other tabs for each location, so lots of title duplication. Each individual tab doesn't have much content (although the content each tab has is unique). I would usually expect the tabs to be distinguished by the parameters only, not have unique URLs - if that was the case we wouldn't have a duplication issue. So the question is: rel=canonical or noindex/follow? I can see benefits of both. Looking forward to your thoughts!

On page SEO Strategy / What pages to use?
What is the best page to use for targeting your hard to rank keywords? The keyword phrases in question here are "Acrylic Tank Manufacturing", "Custom Aquariums", & "Acrylic Aquariums" As of right now we have created 3 separate pages for each one of these keyword phrases. http://seaquaticaquariums.com/custom-aquariums for "Custom Aquariums" http://www.seaquaticaquariums.com/custom-aquariums/acrylic-aquariums/ for "Acrylic Aquariums" http://www.seaquaticaquariums.com/services/acrylic-tank-manufacturing/ for "Acrylic Tank Manufacturing" Or are we better of using the home page http://www.seaquaticaquariums.com/ for the our main hard to rank for terms. Generally speaking I would think more people will link to our home page.

Will Google re-index the page if content is changed/improved?
Hello,
On-Page Optimization | | wickedsunny1
i have a little question, it seems most of my posts which are 3 years old or even more, all have almost same type of 2-3 lines of text at post starting and then images roundups etc.
which recently stopped getting any traffic from google. Probably becuase of lack in text etc.
So if i now edit those old pages, will they be reindexed in google with this new content/data?
thanks in advance.

Are plural & singular versions of keywords considered repeats ?
Hi Are plural and singular versions of keywords if used in same page element such as a title tag considered as a keyword repeat ? How naughty are keyword repeats in title tags ? I personally think that so long as the page content justifies their existence in title then should be fine. I ask because i hear talk that one should avoid kw repeats in title tags, but surely in cases like the below example its ok ? If i were to give this page: www.leisurecentres.com/uk-leisure-centre-guide This title tag: UK Leisure Centre Guide | Leisure Centres Surely thats ok ? Cheers Dan

On-Page Optimization | | romaro
1. What about the optimization of keywords in singular and plural?Do you recommend use landing pages in the plural and singularwords? as different results on Google searches in the plural andsingular.
2. Do you think that is a good strategy to generate a sitemap tosearch results pages based on searches by users of our site? Weplan to start generating a sitemap with a top 500 of the most popular searches and then scroll through to 1000, 2000, and more0 -
Mobile vs Website Duplicate Data / Meta
SeoMoz is reporting duplicate content, title tags, and other meta information and seems to be showing that my mobile site (located on m.website.com) is a duplicate of website.com I was figuring I could add "Mobile SiteName" to the title to avoid the duplicate title but am a little confused as to how to approach the duplicate content side of it
