MOZ report - crawling error H1
-
Recently on my Scheduled MOZ report, I got an error shows under "content error" for missing "H1 heading" for my following 3 pages: privacy policy, contact us and FAQ... Is it really necessary for those pages? I have a large image and good meta description for us and to the best of my knowledge search engines does not really need H1 for such pages as described. Please, your opinion. Thanks!

Testing something here... don't mind me.

Thanks for the TIP gaston!

Hi Yossi0721,
Having H1 tags in those pages is completely up to you. And as long those pages aren't important for your business to rank in google better, then don't correct that "errors".
The fact that Google shouldn't need H1 tags for those pages (privacy policy, contact us and FAQ) is just a judgement of yours. You are considering that those page are of no interest for your users. But Google might think differently.
That said, remember that Moz reports are automated and dont diferenciate at that minimum pages. So, as long as you change that H1 problem, there will continue to alert about that "mistake".
Hope it helps.
Best luck

Duplicate content, hijacked search console, crawl errors, ACCCK.
My company employed a national marketing company to create their site, which was obviously outsourced to the lowest bidder. It looks beautiful, but has a staging site with all duplicate content in the installation. I am not seeing these issues in search console, and have had no luck getting the staging site removed from the files. How much should I be banging the drum on this? We have hundreds of high level crawl errors and over a thousand in midlevel. Of course I was not around to manage the build. I also do not have ftp access I'm also dealing with major search console issues. The account is proprietarily owned by a local SEO company and I can not remove the owner who is there by delegation. The site prefers the www version and does not read the same traffic for the non www version We also have something like 90,000 backlinks from 13 sites. And a shit ton of ghost spam. Help!

First foray into MOZ
Hi there, I'm getting started with MOZ and want to invest time and energy to make sure it works for me. I've watched most of the intro videos and have started poring over the reports. I'm signing up for the seminars and reading lots of stuff. I'm confused about next steps - of course- there are so many ways to go. Our company is a small web and graphic design in a small town (shew-design.com). There are competitors who run very similar businesses to ours but are ranking higher. Results are all over the board in terms of analysis. Some of our competitors have thousands of back links, others have just a few. What I'm trying to do is look at at the numbers and build a strategy for ranking higher. I feel that with a little energy and strategy we could do a lot better. What are the best resources available I can use to get from here to there.

Title Tag, URL Structure & H1 for Localization
I am working with a local service company. They have one location but offer a number of different services to both residential and commercial verticals. What I have been reading seems to suggest that I put the location in URLs, Title Tags & H1s. Isn't it kind of spammy and possibly annoying user experience to see location on every page?? Portland ME Residential House Painting Portland ME Commercial Painting Portland Maine commercial sealcoating Portland Maine residential sealcoating etc, etc This strikes me as an old school approach. Isn't google more adept at recognizing location so that I don't need to paste it In H1s all over the site? Thanks in advance. PAtrick

Welcome to the Crawling, Indexing, and Ranking sub-forum
Hi guys,We built 2 sites for a client called Kilsaran. 1. Kilsaran.ie targeting Ireland2. Kilsaraninternational.co.uk targeting the ukThe issue is with the uk version of the site is not appearing where it used to be on the SERPs on google.co.uk when you serach for either "Kilsaran" or "Kilsaran International". The Irish version kilsaran.ie now appears first. We have set the GEO targeting for the respective Countries. The .ie site is the original site with the longer History and much more domain authority, links etc There is no manual penalty appearing So my questions is how do I get the English version to appear no.1on google.co.uk? Is it a case of building some local links? or should I implement geo ip detection?Another related question. What is the geo targeting tools function in GWT used for?ThanksRob
