Since DA update, all H1s are lost
-
The new Moz errors for missing H1 tags align with the timing of the new Moz DA. We have not changed anything onsite nor are these tags implemented dynamically.
Both desktop and AMP version of each page have an H1. Example page: Google Maps Marketing

Might this be a bug with the new Moz DA rollout?

Hi Jeannie,
Just throwing another wild theory into the mix, could this be related to a caching issue at all? I don't suppose you're seeing the latest version but Google/other people aren't yet?
I can see you're on Wordpress and use WP Rocket that's all
Kind regards,
Nick

Hi Donna,
In all our multiple tests ScreamingFrog and multiple other tools find the H1 tag, so that no, that is the answer or question. But it is nice to hear from you.

I think I might see the problem.
I looked at your (Jeannie's) screenshot of the page in question (https://www.hillwebcreations.com/google-maps-marketing) as well as the source code for the page. I'm seeing an extra space before the h1 close bracket (
vs
). I scanned the page using Screaming Frog and it is NOT finding an H1 on the page either.
Could that be it Jeannie?
-
Yes, I have used screaming frog for years and love it. All H1's are in the code; ScreamFrog, SEMrush, WooRank, and many other tool verify that.
For years Moz has found and reported that the H1 title tags that ARE on each page, so the question is not their existence, it is why they are incorrectly flagged as missing.
In case you missed clicking on the screenshot above, I will attach it below. You can quickly see the H1.
Why are the H1's suddenly reported incorrectly on every page by Moz?
More example pages below:

Hi Jeannie,
I also could't find a H1 tag on in the source code: https://www.hillwebcreations.com/google-maps-marketing. Try Screaming Frog to double check all the element on the page.
Cheers
-
Hi Meghan,
It is there - you just need to look further down. See my screenshot. So that cannot be why Moz is reporting it missing.
It happened at the exact same time so I am inclined to investigate a correlation.

Hi Jeannie!
Thanks so much for the great question! I don't believe these issue flags are related to the new DA launch. I took a look and I don't see that we're flagging the page https://www.hillwebcreations.com/google-maps-marketing/amp/ as having a missing or invalid H1 tag. However, I do see that https://www.hillwebcreations.com/google-maps-marketing is flagged for this issue.
Looking at the source code of the page https://www.hillwebcreations.com/google-maps-marketing, I do not see an H1 tag present which is why that particular page is being flagged. Here is a screenshot of what I'm seeing.
I hope that info helps to clarify! If not, please feel free to send an email on over to help@moz.com so we can some further investigate.

Moz Pricing Needs Update
Hi I am coming from Ahrefs and Moz plans need serious update about the limits especially rank tracking. Ahrefs is providing more keywords $0.08/keyword (5000 keywords for the advanced plan) and update interval of 3 days. Moz large plan is $0.13/keyword with intervals of 1 week. Can this be looked into? Hopefully Moz can improve the limits for keywords ranking/tracking. In 2020 where many rank tracking tools provide daily update, 1 week is a bit ridiculously long. Hopefully Moz can make some improvement in this area,

Why Moz Update has 48 days this time?
Hi There! We have been Monitoring our DA in Moz.com, from past 6 Months and we have observed that every Moz update happens between 25 to 30 days. Why is the next update has been scheduled for 48 days of time? Is there any specific reason for this? Awaiting your response Thanks Malik Zakaria

Will MOZ be updating there tools with regards to the new Meta Description length?
Now that Google has increased the number of characters allowed for meta descriptions/snippets when will MOZ be updating the tools to cater for the new lengths? I'm sure a lot of my Meta descriptions that are being flagged as too long with disappear once updated. Cheers Lee B

Will the Pro tool be updated to reflect the new meta description length?
Hi, I'm wondering if and when the tool will be updated for the above purpose - I'm currently testing it out with a view to purchase a subscription and have onboarded a couple of clients, but the reports are coming back with meta description length errors, but as I'm sure you know the "legal" length of these was recently increased to I believe 320 characters. Any insight here would be awesome - thanks so much!

Moz is flagging my callto: links as 404s. I "fixed" with tel: & nofollow and lost 2 DA. Help?
I changed the callto: links to tel: links in the footer and nofollowed them and my domain authority dropped 2. I'm assuming this is because we lost 2.8K "external links" Advice on how to remove 404s for Phone#'s without affecting DA? Will just using the tel: format stop Moz from crawling them as 404's? It was adding links to the 404 list that look like this: www.ocp.org/missals/callto:########### I assumed it was because to the crawlers the links looked like relative links this is what our links look like now: <a <span="" class="html-tag">href</a><a <span="" class="html-tag">="</a>tel:###########" rel="nofollow" title="Call us">########### Old footer links: <a <span="" class="html-tag">href</a><a <span="" class="html-tag">="</a>callto:###########" title="Call us">###########

Competitor changed URL. What data do I lose if I update Moz settings?
One of my competitor's has changed their domain URL. I want to update this in the Moz campaign settings but I get a warning that all historical data will be lost if I do. Is that really true? I replaced one of my competitors with another for a week and didn't seem to lose historical data. Incidentally, could this be a feature request to allow more competitors to be tracked? eqEhEHz.jpg
