That is just not the case. I saw the same from google, but disavowing globe domains helps in a big way.
-
I have heard the same, but experience shows that disavowing them most certainly helps as of 2/12/2020.
There is a utility that can find every globe domain in a MOZ Linking Domains CSV file, and its free.
https://dynamic.domains/disavow-utility.zip
Just use the_worlds_most_visited in the keyword field, and it will find every single globe domain in your file.

I hear what you are saying. Like you say there are people on both sides of the fence, I get rid of them and I am pretty sure I've seen some examples where it has actually benefited results
-
I disagree, but I know there are lots of people on both sides of the fence on this one!
"The globe is a known spam network", so one would assume Google is aware and just ignores it.
Google say (highlighting is me):
"Google works very hard to make sure that actions on third-party sites do not negatively affect a website. In some circumstances, incoming links can affect Google’s opinion of a page or site. For example, you or a search engine optimizer (SEO) you’ve hired may have built bad links to your site via paid links or other link schemes that violate our quality guidelines." - https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/2648487?hl=enAnd John Mueller said (highlighting is me):
"Random links collected over the years aren't necessarily harmful, we've seen them for a long time too and can ignore all of those weird pieces of web-graffiti from long ago. Disavow links that were really paid for (or otherwise actively unnaturally placed), don't fret the cruft." - https://twitter.com/JohnMu/status/1088929651593039872If you didn't go out and generate those links, I wouldn't worry about them.
Disavowing a known spam link site does not help Google clear up
-
The Globe is a known spam network and you should disavow links, at the least - from all spam sites. There have been several posts here over the past few months with users either seeing a dive in their results (and then I check their backlinks, finding billions of globe ones) or sharing their own disavow files. In most instances, most users have agreed that The Globe is a nasty spammy network which looks like it is link selling, which could potentially (in some circumstances, not all) lead to negative SEO impacts
If you identify pages as being part of The Globe network, I would strongly advise you to disavow them. We've had to disavow thousands for some clients who were negatively impacted and removing them did help
They are spammy link lists. The pages serve no function or purpose, other than (apparently) SEO. Google say time and again, these types of pages and links clutter up the web and cause lots of problems. They don't like these. Just because a web-pages isn't some kind of satanic gambling bdsm site, that doesn't mean it is a good link that you should keep
These days, standards are higher (IMO). Say no to these kinds of links
-
Thanks for reverting me. Can you share any article or forum where Google says that Google will discount these type links and won't penalize.
-
Sites like that will not do any harm (they won't do anything for your rankings to be fair). I wouldn't worry about disavowing, Google will be well aware of them and discount them, they won't penalise you.

New Flurry of thousands of bad links from 3 Spammy websites. Disavow?
I also discovered that a website www.prlog.ru put 32 links to my website. It is a russian site. It has a 32% spam score. Is that high? I think I need to disavow. Another spammy website link has spam score of 16% with with several thousand links. I added one link to the site medexplorer.com 6 years ago and it was fine. Now it has thousands of links. Should I disavow all three?

Submitting url to link directories seen as un-natural link building?
Hi I have been a lurker for a long time, so I finally took the step to make my 1st post, and will hopefully start giving back more in the future since I have gained invaluable info from this great site Background I hired a new freelancer on our team of SEO consultants ("specialists") During the course a month he (the new consultant) submitted our website to numerous link directories (he assured me this is good), today I received the report of the work he had been doing for the past 4-weeks. I opened the report and I was furious and wanted to sack him there and then The Problem / My Question He had submitted our website to 150 directories with various levels of page rank, ranging from 7-1. Most of the directories are totally irrelevant to our niche (we are in the catering business) and he had gone and submitted the site to directories such as "finance busters", "questfinder" etc For all 150 submissions he used: exactly the same url exactly the same title exactly the same description exactly the same keywords My Concern Am I right to be worried about this? Or am I completely wrong and may this actually have an effect (even if none)? The way I see it is that Google is seeing 150 duplicate links coming from irrelevant directories all within a months time, which will trigger a red flag and possibly do major damage to my site, which has always been strictly white hat and been doing pretty well. p.s does link directory submissions even count these days anyway? Thanks for reading and advice very much welcome

URL disappeared from the search results
Hey folks, A URL on my webpage that has been climbing in search results ever since has suddenly completely disapeared from the search results and i'm absolutely stuck - no idea what the reason might be. It was ranked #11 for the targeted keyword, than it slightly started dropping down to #14 and #17 after which it completely disappeared, not only for specific targeted keyword, but also for exact name of the product. The URL has vanished from search results. I looked in search console, no particular errors or messages from Google. The only case I might come with is that many URLs are cannonicaly linked to the URL in matter, but i don't assume this might be the case. Does anyone have a suggestion what might the reason why the URL has completely vanished from the search results? Thank you a lot. The URL: http://chemometec.com/cell-counters/cell-counter-nc-200-nucleocounter/ Targeted keyword: 'cell counter'

No cache still a good link for disavow?
Hi Yall, 2 scenarios: 1. I'm on the border line of disavowing some websites that link to me. If the page is N/A (not available) for the cache, does that mean i should disavow them? 2. What if the particular page was really good content and the webmaster just has the worse seo skills in not interlinking his old blogs, hence why the page that's linking to me is N/A for cache, should i still disavow it? Thanks

I Mistakenly uploaded Disavow File to Non WWW version of Webiste in Webmaster Tools...is this a Problem???
Hey guys and gals, I need some advice on this please. I recently had someone perform a negative S.E.O campaign on my site and I was inundated with 13,000 + spammy links pointing to my website and I had to perform a Disavow in Google Webmaster Tools but for some reason, it is showing that I uploaded the Disavow text file to the Non WWW version of the website but the WWW version of my website is the preferred domain and I have all NON WWW queries being 301 redirected to www.pcmedicsoncall.com My question is should I correct this and upload the Disavow text to the preferred domain in Google Webmaster Tools??? Please advise on how I should proceed with this situation.... Thank you. Cam

Disavow tool for blocking 4 to 5 sites for Article Republishing
Am finding some very low authority sites (recently picked our articles from ezine and other article sites - written over a year back) and pasted on to there site. The number of articles copies are not 1 or 2, but more than 10-12 in all these domains This has also led to our anchor based url - backlink to us from them (a part of article). Have Wrote down to remove my author profile and articles - but there has been no response from webmaster of these sites. Is Disavow a right approach. The number of such sites are 4 or 5 in nature !!

Include placename in URL, or not?
Hi Mozzers, I'm wondering whether to put placename in URL or not. This is for a hotel so it's very focused on the county. I have loads of sub pages along the lines of www.hotelname.com/short-breaks-somerset www.hotelname.com/eat-out-somerset and so on but I was wondering whether that placename element would help or hinder. For example, may want to rank for short breaks in other searches (not just those seeking short breaks in Somerset) and was wondering whether the somerset bit may actually hinder this in the future. Also noticed Somerset is mentioned in nearly all of the page urls through the site. Perhaps this is a bit spammy and just not neccesary. I can include the address of the hotel on every page anyway. What do you think? Thanks in advance for your help 🙂 Luke
