Multiple links from same domain (different pages) considered in credibility of backlinks?
-
Hi,
Let's say there are multiple backlinks from different pages of same domain to different pages of other domain like below:
Website A: Page 1 -----------> Website B: Page 1
Website A: Page 2 -----------> Website B: Page 2
Do the pages of Website B pages will get backlinks authority equally or they don't get much backlinks impact as they have multiple backlinks from same domain?
There were old school stories that Google ignores second link from same domain.....etc... So, please suggest on this.
Thank you.
Note: The question is NOT about content relevancy or domain authority score of the backlinks.

It's commonly thought that successive links from the same domain, yield less and less benefit each time (eventually diminishing). A few links from one domain isn't too bad, but once you get to tens or hundreds - the spend may eclipse the benefit which each successive link brings

Drastic Drop in Link Juice
Hi Back in December we shifted my web domain from a gourmetdirect.com to gourmetdirect.co.nz as part of a site-wide revamp. Everything was going along fine until recently when my Linking domains plummeted and external links fell from 6000 approx to 600. We still have the .com live for loads of disfunctional reasons. Can anyone help? I have gone from a top ranker to a no show and my contractors are all shaking their heads.

Do practitioner listings for the same business need to have different categories?
I'm trying to figure out an issue with practitioner listings, and I wanted to ask more about this because in this Q&A thread ( http://www.seomoz.org/q/multiple-businesses-at-the-same-address-avoiding-google-places-trouble ) it was stated that each listing needs to have a different category. Sorry if this question is redundant, I just wanted to make sure I have a clear understanding before proceeding.... I'm managing local listings for a senior healthcare center that has 4 locations, and multiple practitioners at each location. I'm trying to figure out how to best handle the multiple practitioner listings, most of which appear to be scraped. I was going to claim, verify and begin managing them. However, they all fall under the same category, "practitioner." What I've gathered from the response in the above Q&A thread is that I need to have a different category for each practitioner to please Google Places, despite the fact that "practitioner" is the best/most accurate category available in Google's pre-set categories. Is my interpretation correct? I'm confused because Google's guidelines say you can create a separate listing for each practitioner, which to me implies that it would be ok to use the practitioner category for each one. But then again, I want to make sure before proceeding. Thanks, Kim

Could EMD (Exact Match Domain) have cause SERP drops?
Hi all, Another suggestion was given for our fall in SERPS. Recently Matt Cutts announced that EMDs would be hit by new algoritms. http://www.seroundtable.com/google-panda-20-15789.html Only our site with exacts matches... cours-telephone-anglais, curso-ingles-telefono, kurse-englisch-telefon, and corso-inglese-telefono were hit. Does anyone else have experience of this? Would a solution be to create new URLS and redirect? Or would a redirect carry the penalty over? Is there anyway to fix that sort of penalty? Many thanks for your help.

Specific Page Penalty?
Having trouble to figure out why one of our pages is not ranking in SERPs, on-page optimisation looks decent to me. Checked by using gInfinity extension and searched for the page URL. Can one page be penalised from Google engines (.ie / .com ) and the rest of the website not penalised? The (possible) penalised page is showing in Google places in SERPs. I assume this would not show if it was penalised. Would appreciate any advice. Thanks
