World.edu -- is that a good website to get a backlink from?

I saw the "World.edu" as a place to get a small blog and could create backlinks. But it seems like it may be a PBN which google doesn't like.

What are your thoughts of world.edu?

Backlinking unclarities.

Hello, I'm trying to get external links from different websites. http://www.meubels.uwpagina.nl/ is one of them. Now what I am wondering is that 95% of the links on that page arent paid links. The paid links are in bold. To get a link for free on that website you need to place a link on your page to that page. This is not alloud by google, and if you do so you will get a penalty. How do all those websites manage to do it? They obviously know it is not alloud, but still they managed somehow to do this without getting penalized. Can someone clarify this for me? Why is a website with no backlinks beating me?

In Sydney we have an import car dealership and even though it does not show any backlinks to it: http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/links?site=www.edwardlees.com.au%2F (make sure to search on Google.com.au for any relevant keywords I mention) However this website is ranking at the top for many competitive keywords, for example: 'japanese imports' It is dominating. Our website has many backlinks: http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/links?site=www.sportsautogroup.com.au But no keyword rankings. I understand we need to fix up our on Page SEO, but how does our EdwardLee's rank top with no backlinks?? Or is the tool just missing data?

Effectiveness of Forum Backlinks: specifically Paul's Backlinks

I know the general consensus is that these kinds of backlinks are of low value, however I'm curious as to anyones present day experience with them and if they are providing any value. More specifically, I am curious if they can do harm. I don't see how they could, as it would be a very easy tactic for an unscrupulous competitor to sabotage another by implementing them for their competitors. I can see possibly losing rank if they were discounted, however if this is the case, then it would only be rank that would not have been gained in the first place, minus those kinds of links. I ask because I have competing websites who have started to outrank me (they have been climbing and improving through each Google algorithm change in the past year), despite the fact that my mosrank and authority are better than every single one of them. But they have a sheer growing volume of backlinks that I can't match (seemingly low value when I look at their link profiles). Plus my domain is older (9 years as opposed to 3-4 years), and my site is clearly better (in terms of aesthetics, usability, content, etc), as well as my link profile being selectively cultivated from truly relevant sites. None the less, they are starting to kill me at this point -and I don't have the luxury of time. So....I was wondering about the wisdom of upping my volume of forum type links, as this is the only area of measurement where I can see my competitors are beating me. I am a believer in true, difficult, quality inbound marketing - however it is not getting the job done. Any thoughts on this?

Youtube Backlink

We've had our Youtube Channel fairly optimized for several months now. Part of that effort includes the link back to our site which is allowed on Youtube. When doing link research I see Youtube links being given credit to competitors but haven't seen Youtube show up in backlinks reports for our site yet. Is there any way to speed this up? Our Youtube page with the link has been indexed and a cached version of the page is in Google's SERPs. If there are any tricks to getting this going that anyone is aware of I'd like to hear it. *The link on Youtube returns a 200 and is followable. I'm using the SEOMOZ tool and Open Site Explorer to do backlinking research.

I'm building backlinks to a certain page on my website, optimizing for 2 keywords. Since I'm spending a lot of time building backlinks to this page should I also do heavy internal linking with the keywords that point to this certain page as well?
