Canonicalization, does it still index
-
If I have 2 pages that are identical but on different domains that our team manages, if we place a rel=canonical tag on the page we prefer/should display, will the page that doesn't have the canonical tag still be indexed and show on SERPs?
-
You will place the same canonical tag on both pages...
The page at www.domainintheserps.com/product-a/ will appear in the SERPs.
The page at www.othersite.com/product-a/ will not appear in the SERPs (if google finds and obeys your canonical tag)
The value of all links (including internal links) that point to www.othersite.com/product-a/ will be transferred to www.domainintheserps.com/product-a/ All of those links will show in your Google search console backlinks.
If your pages are not identical or if Google doesn't like one of your sites or one of your pages, it is possible that Google will ignore you instructions. Canonical tags are suggestions not commands. Also, Google can be very slow to find and obey canonical tags. It can take months.
Your page at www.othersite.com/product-a/ will sometimes appear in the SERPs for any of the following queries
site:othersite.com
site:domainintheserps.com
site:othersite.com product-a
site:domainintheserps.com product-a
So, your competitors can figure out if you are doing this stuff.
I forgot to answer one of your questions... "Does it still index"? Maybe. It will likely be indexed upon discovery. Then, at a later time, the canonical will be obeyed and it will drop from the SERPs.

Are DA and PA still important?
I am quite vague about this concept, a few years ago it was quite effective and I used it to evaluate the quality of the website. But lately, I have a headache because some of the DA, PA pages are lower than my website (This keyword doing SEO: Intel core i9) but the rank is still higher.

Google not Indexing images on CDN.
My URL is: https://bit.ly/2hWAApQ We have set up a CDN on our own domain: https://bit.ly/2KspW3C We have a main xml sitemap: https://bit.ly/2rd2jEb and https://bit.ly/2JMu7GB is one the sub sitemaps with images listed within. The image sitemap uses the CDN URLs. We verified the CDN subdomain in GWT. The robots.txt does not restrict any of the photos: https://bit.ly/2FAWJjk. Yet, GWT still reports none of our images on the CDN are indexed. I ve followed all the steps and still none of the images are being indexed. My problem seems similar to this ticket https://bit.ly/2FzUnBl but however different because we don't have a separate image sitemap but instead have listed image urls within the sitemaps itself. Can anyone help please? I will promptly respond to any queries. Thanks

Expert Indexation challenge!
We have a major and strange indexation problem on our site for several languages for a while now. If I type in the search query "langsom computer" ("slow pc" in Danish) it used to display the page (www.spamfighter.com/SLOW-PCfighter/Lang_DA/) in the top 3. Now it displays this site instead as result #11 which is an entirely different product: http://www.spamfighter.com/VIRUSfighter/Lang_DA/ The same happens for some other languages. The French search: "Optimisez votre PC trop lent avec une meilleure performance" (Optimize your slow PC for better performance) displays: http://www.spamfighter.com/VIRUSfighter/Lang_FR/ which has nothing in common with the search and the page intended: http://www.spamfighter.com/SLOW-PCfighter/Lang_FR/ Anyone have ANY idea what this could be?

Index Category Archives?
I'm using Wordpress categories to add products. Normally I normally noindex category archives to prevent duplicate content issues, with the blog page serving as the index, but I don't have one with this site http://66.147.244.50/~proflowc/ Should I index the category archives to ensure that products are indexed, or will Google see them anyway?
