Why My Domain Authority Dropped
-
Hey, my website's Domain Authority and backlink count have decreased, but traffic remains stable in Google Search Console. Some SEO tools report a decline in authority, emphasizing the need to consider multiple metrics when evaluating website performance.
-
The authority of my website has dropped, and the number of backlinks has also decreased. However, the traffic remains consistent in my Search Console. Nevertheless, certain SEO tools are reporting a decline in my website's performance.

I have websites and I have also faced this issue. My website Crdtlin Capital was at good Domain Authority but for few months I stopped creating quality backlinks so my Domain Authority Dropped. So if your competitors are doing better than you then your Domain Authority will drop. I hope this will be helpful for you.
-
@rishu578 In most cases, traffic drops are the result of multiple factors that combine to lower the number of unique visitors that arrive on your site. Your best bet in this situation is to look at any recent changes to your website, linking strategy or advertising goals
Note that this also happened on my site
after I created a Blogger blog that I did not care about and it was not indexed, then I deleted it and the matter was modified.

Domain Authority (DA) can drop for various reasons, including changes in your website's backlink profile, algorithm updates by search engines, or a decrease in the quality of your backlinks. To address a drop in DA, focus on improving your website's content quality, acquiring high-quality backlinks, and ensuring your site's overall health and user experience are up to par. There could be several reasons why your domain authority dropped. Domain authority is a metric that represents the overall strength and credibility of your website in search engines. Here are a few possible explanations for the drop:
Changes in search engine algorithms: Search engines regularly update their algorithms, which can impact how they evaluate websites and assign domain authority. If there have been significant algorithm changes, it could have affected your website's authority.
Loss of quality backlinks: Backlinks are an essential factor in determining domain authority. If you've lost high-quality backlinks or experienced a decline in the overall quality of your backlink profile, it can result in a drop in domain authority.
Decrease in website traffic or engagement: Domain authority considers various factors related to your website's performance, including traffic, user engagement, and time spent on your site. A noticeable decrease in these metrics can have an impact on your domain authority score.
Competitors' improvements: If your competitors have made significant improvements in their websites' authority, it may cause your domain authority to drop in comparison. Domain authority is a relative metric, and changes in the competitive landscape can affect your standing.
Technical issues or penalties: Technical issues like site errors, slow loading speed, or penalties from search engines can also contribute to a drop in domain authority. It's important to regularly monitor your website for any potential technical issues and resolve them promptly.
To improve your domain authority, consider focusing on building a strong backlink profile with high-quality and relevant websites, optimizing your website for search engines, producing high-quality content, and ensuring a positive user experience. Keep in mind that domain authority is just one metric, and it's essential to focus on overall website performance and user satisfaction.

DA can drop for multiple reasons.
Though take it as a reality check that you need to improve your site. It is more than backlinking. Your competition is getting better.

Hello,
The number of Backlinks has increased this months. DA results of website www.AsasWood.com are different if you check on Moz or Ahrefs. Is there a way to check DA exactly how Google sees it? -
Hello,
I understand your concern about the drop in your Domain Authority (DA) on your website. Fluctuations in DA can be frustrating, but there are a few factors to consider:
-
Different Algorithms: Moz, Google Webmaster Tools, and Ahrefs all have their own algorithms and methods for calculating domain authority and tracking backlinks. These algorithms can sometimes produce different results.
-
Update Delays: Updates to DA might not be in real-time. Moz updates its DA calculations periodically, so changes in your backlink profile might not be immediately reflected.
-
Quality vs. Quantity: It's not just about the number of domains linking to your site; the quality of those links matters too. Google and Moz evaluate links based on various factors, including relevance, authority of linking sites, and the context of the link.
-
Link Quality: High DA doesn't always guarantee a positive impact on your site's DA. If some of the new links are from low-quality or spammy sites, they might negatively affect your DA.
-
Competitor Changes: Changes in the backlink profiles of your competitors can also influence your DA.
-
Technical Issues: If Moz isn't detecting certain backlinks, there might be technical reasons behind it, such as blocked crawlers, nofollow attributes, or dynamic content.
-
Content Quality: While DA is influenced by backlinks, the overall quality and relevance of your content also matter. Google and other search engines consider various factors beyond just backlinks.
Regarding your question about Moz crawling all domains fairly, Moz's crawler aims to be comprehensive, but like any other crawler, it might not capture every single link. The data provided by Moz is an estimate based on their crawl, and it might not perfectly match other tools like Ahrefs.
If you're seeing positive results in Google Webmaster Tools and Ahrefs, it's a good sign that your site is gaining recognition. Keep focusing on high-quality content creation, ethical link-building practices, and providing value to your audience. Over time, these efforts should help improve both your domain authority and your site's overall performance.
Remember that SEO is a long-term endeavor, and it's normal to experience fluctuations. If you're still concerned, you might consider seeking advice from SEO professionals who can provide more tailored guidance based on the specifics of your situation.

I Have 2 Questions!
I've moved my website https://gbwhts.net/ from DA 14 to DA 15.
The ranking of my website https://instaaupapk.com/ has unexpectedly increased from DA 11 to DA 15.
What is this? -
This is because poor link profile: If you have low-quality or spammy backlinks pointing to your website, or if you have been engaged in black-hat SEO practices such as link farming, then your domain authority may drop. Google sees these types of links as a red flag and will penalize your website. https://whatsgbplus.com/ogwhatsapp-apk/
-
is there any new updates because my site https://digitalboxit.com/ is drop too

There can be various reasons why your domain authority has dropped. Here are some possible reasons:
Poor link profile: If you have low-quality or spammy backlinks pointing to your website, or if you have been engaged in black-hat SEO practices such as link farming, then your domain authority may drop. Google sees these types of links as a red flag and will penalize your website.
Changes to the algorithm: Google updates its search algorithms frequently, and these updates can impact your website's ranking and domain authority. If your website is not aligned with the latest algorithm updates, your domain authority may drop.
Content quality: If the quality of your website's content has decreased, then your domain authority may drop. Google's algorithms look for relevant, high-quality, and meaningful content that meets the needs of searchers. If your content is not meeting these criteria, your domain authority may suffer.
Website structure: If your website structure is not optimized for search engines, then your domain authority may drop. Google prefers websites with clear and logical structures that make it easy for users to navigate and for search engines to crawl.
. Competition: If your competitors are performing better in terms of SEO, producing more quality content, and earning higher-quality backlinks, then your domain authority may drop relative to theirs.
To improve your domain authority, you should focus on building high-quality backlinks, producing relevant and meaningful content, optimizing your website structure, and staying up-to-date with the latest algorithm updates.

-
My DA has dropped since yesterday https://www.overlandexpress.co.uk/
Have added around 400 good quality backlinks to the domain in the last month and it is really disheartening when something like this happens. 75% of the links added are do follow and are from domains with a higher authority than ours.
-
Same here, my blog https://www.ilgirasoleverde.it/ lost DA today

@himan232 Hi! It might be due to some Google changes. As it's already been mentioned, optimizing your content can help, and building links to your optimized content could definitely give it a big boost. I'm with BASE Search Marketing and that's all we do (create content and build high-quality backlinks). Don't hesitate to reach out if you need it for your site or for your client's site!

My DA was 14 on Moz and now it seems to be 13.
But, on Ahrefs it shows that my website (https://dbdpost.com/) has DA 7. Why is that? -
Hi,
The Domain Authority of my website https://chiropractorgoonline.com/ is also dropped in the last 4-5 days. an I know the reason for what is going on? Thankyou! -
The website https://www.zehlm.com has also dropped, but not a few points. The last Google update, which was within the last week, diminished the DA and PA to "0". The thing here that doesn't add up, is that the SEO score according to Seobility is a whopping 99%. All of the code is valid through w3c and there are at least 8 keyword phrases that are above 88% on individual SEO scores.
Really is strange. I don't see this type of nonsense in other websites. Could this be sabbotage? -
My SItes faced same issue. https://www.startech.com.bd/ Can anyone explain why?

AFter buying some high DA dofollow links, my site https://www.packlt.lt dropped as well. Not sure if coincidence or penality

The same also happened with my website "blueseotools.com" initially the authority was 18 but suddenly dropped to 1.8. please help!

Domain authority (DA) is a metric used to measure how authoritative a domain name is. A higher DA means that the site is more trusted and authoritative than others.
The DA of a website is calculated using several factors including backlinks, page rank, age of the website, etc.
As we know, the number of backlinks is directly proportional to the traffic of a website. So, if the number of backlinks increases, then the traffic of a website will increase. So, if the number of links decreases, then the traffic of the website will decrease.
In this article, I am going to explain what causes the drop in the number of backlinks and how to fix it.
What Causes Backlink Drop? There are many reasons behind the link drop. Let's discuss them below:
-
Google algorithm update
Google updates its algorithms frequently. Sometimes they do it without any warning. In these cases, the search engine may penalize websites that have been ranking well previously. -
Website redesign
If you have redesigned your website recently, then chances are that you might have lost some of your previous rankings. -
Low quality content
When you write articles for your blog, make sure that they are high-quality and informative. If not, then you should consider writing guest posts instead.
-
-
my website ranking and authority has dropped in recent time https://www.hashtagacademy.in is there any new update in google ?
-
@rishu578 Perpase the answer is that your competitors are going up in DA, indirectly lowering yours by surpassing your position.
-
Hi Everone,
Our website(https://www.buddyloan.com/) was having a DA of 28 and suddenly it dropped to 23. What would be the reason? I have checked the backlinks. there was a drop in no.of backlinks. what other factors can I check?
#dadrop #domainauthority
-
I recently experienced the same issue with a sudden drop of DA on Moz for our site https://fashionfinder.online/ - has there been a recent update?
Thanks! -
The same thing I have noticed with my website https://www.techtricknews.com/.
I have disavowed several backlinks and updated theme few times. And guessing that this might be the reason for dropping DA from 15 to 12.
-
100% agree with Zee
-
Both good answers above. Chiming in here to echo what's been said, and point out that it's unhelpful to track your domain's DA from Moz month over month because Moz's DA:
- is to Moz
- is not used by Google
- is subject to change, pending updates Moz makes to its own DA algorithm
I would, instead, focus on figuring out how to make your domain stronger with and without links. You may very well need to focus on building links to your site to increase authority and exposure, but you may not be able to accomplish that unless you create content that is "easy" to promote, and compels other websites to link to you.
Hope this helps.

The dreaded drop
Hello all, So a sister site has contacted me about their drop in traffic, around January they created a page, (and I kid you not), with a title of "Banner Link Exchange", it took me about ten minutes to stop laughing. Around the 16th of July their traffic dropped like a stone (see image). Obviously I've had them remove the page and we've contacted the sites that they swapped links with, there are 20+). I'm going to give them a week then I'm going to disavow the links. Interestingly the brand keywords are all still at position one, but it's decimated any product and broad search links. I've had them create a blog and they're going to contact the sites they were linking with and write some proper articles. We'll clean up their backlink profile and any site issues they have. It's an ecommerce site so the projected take is down around 40% My question is are there any indications after fixing as much as possible that the traffic will return, and in what period of time? (i'm seeing conflicting ideas about this) We can't change the site domain as there's a physical store as well... the domain was first used in 1996... Cheers Stew Yz8xiS5.png

Domain authority through blogs
So, I was looking at my competiton, and noticed that they have 4 times the amount of link that my page has. I noticed that they made a blog on almost every free blog hosting available (like webs.com, jimdo.com, .weebly.com...) And every blog has a high domain authority (and poor content) with links to their page. Is this helping with their domain authority? Should i do if for my page too? Thank, M.

Why my domain authority is dropping
Hi, I think I've been doing every right here. I just got a lot of nice backlinks from relevant sites ( pr 5 and higher), I also have been doing guest blogging for weeks. But suddenly, my domain authority dropped from 35 to 33. Traffic from searches also dropped a little bit. I didnt do anything blackhat yet so I dont know what is the reason why this happen. I update my site regularly, get more and more natural backlinks, do guest blogging. Or perhaps it was because I give links to my friends' affiliate sites and got penalized?

Purchasing local domains for SEO
Hi, I'm considering buying domains to help build our SEO traffic. But, I'm looking for some advice on whether or not this can hurt us. For example, if our site is www.brandname.com and the site is all about online education, would it beneficial for us to purchase a local domain like education.boston.com and optimize with unique content so we can point back to our own site (if "education boston" is a high volume keyword)? Thanks!

How do I best leverage second EMD domain with same keyword as an important page on my other site?
(Fictional domain names and keywords follow) Let's say I have an Adense site called Diets.com And on that site I've got 10 pages for the ten most popular diets, and each of those pages is optimized for the diet name. Let's imagine one of these pages is called, "The low-carb diet." Then I went out and purchased the domain name LowCarbDiet.com. How do I best use this new domain name? My options seem to be: 1. Build an adsense site on LowCarbDiet.com. But isn't it a problem when the the same owner of LowCardDiet.com and Diets.com are trying to rank for the same keyword? The new site would be trying to rank for "low carb diet" and so would the appropriate page on Diets.com. I think Google doesn't like this. True? 2. Make a one-page introductory informational site with no ads on the new LowCarbDiet.com. Have a prominent link from that site to the appropriate page on Diets.com for the reader to get "further information." This link with the proper anchor text should help boost the page in Diets.com in the SERPs. IF Google doesn't dislike that. SO...is one idea better than the other? Are neither a good idea? Is there a better way to utilize this new domain? It's important because this second domain name's keyword is about to get a huge amount of search traffic. The new, parked domain name is currently registered in the same name as the existing site's name. I could change the registration or privacy it, but I assume Google maintains records of all past registered owners, and if so, I can't really hide ownership.

Using a temp redirect or a link to another domain.
Helloooooooo (hey, we're in SEO...surely we need some sound effects as told in dramatic word elongation?) //First - background. I work on a site that does pretty well with search visibility naturally (by 'naturally', I mean it didn't need a lot of optimisation due to the relationships it has with its link network). I work on a site that sells a particular product - green widgets will do - as part of its verticals. Traffic to this section is great, and tends to convert rather well. These green widgets, however, are also part of another site that's part of the client I work for. The larger company was interested to understand what would happen to their conversions if these green widget visits were sent to them instead of staying on-site (namely, that's because they turn a bigger profit over there). So they set up a link on the page on my site to a landing page on theirs. Sure enough, conversions stayed the same on their site, and showed there may be value in keeping that flow active. //Second - question. I see a few options which mainly revolve around not changing anything, but the bigger part of company wants to see that change. My question is this: long term, should I keep the green widgets section of my site there, and use a link that goes to green widgets on the other site, or should I 302 it until they decide on what they want to do with the relationship between the sites? I know...a bit convoluted, but I'd love to get some ideas on what others have experienced in these situations, and what kinds of outcomes can help both sites remain strong. Thanks a ton, guys.
