Seo for my medium.com site
-
I have my regular site blog at www.Guideyourhealth.org and a blog on www.medium.com, should I try to get back links for my medium articles as well that are on topics not competing with my site?
-
The short answer to your query is no.
An exception could be unless the medium articles are contextual and have links pointing to www.guideyourhealth.org. Then the backlinks could enhance www.guideyourhealth.org.
That said should consider comments by effectdigital above.
Hope that assists.

From what I understand, the main advantage of a Medium blog is that it's embedded within the Medium community and has (pretty much) instant access to a small pool of users / readers, so the audience is semi built-in to the platform
I don't see how it could hurt to promote your medium blog, but if you can't think of a way to capitalise (commercially / financially) on a great Medium following, then maybe don't bother. What will you get out of it, in the end?
If it's just for vanity and big reading numbers, forget it. If you can think of a way to commercially leverage your Medium blog's following, go for it
-
If they're on-topic - yes, it can be a good thing as per of your content strategy.
-
To blog on topics outside of my niche in another niche market. I don't want them for my home site or links from my home site.
-
So you have a website www.guideyourhealth.org and also you have a blog on medium Medium. So the first question that comes to my mind is
- Why do you want backlinks to your medium blog? I mean is this blog part of your funnel? or part of your content promotion strategy?

SEO Benefit to Hosting Site on a Dedicated Server?
Our annual hosting plan expires soon. Our website is hosted on a shared server. Is there an SEO benefit to hosting our site on a dedicated server. Could this result in faster download times which is a ranking factor? Our traffic is currently low (only about 20 visits per day). Thanks!!

SEO question regarding rails app on www.site.com hosted on Heroku and www.site.com/blog at another host
Hi, I have a rails app hosted on Heroku (www.site.com) and would much prefer to set up a Wordpress blog using a different host pointing to www.site.com/blog, as opposed to using a gem within the actual app. Whats are peoples thoughts regarding there being any ranking implications for implementing the set up as noted in this post on Stackoverflow: "What I would do is serve your Wordpress blog along side your Rails app (so you've got a PHP and a Rails server running), and just have your /blog route point to a controller that redirects to your Wordpress app. Add something like this to your routes.rb: _`get '/blog', to:'blog#redirect'`_ and then have a redirect method in your BlogController that simply does this: _`classBlogController<applicationcontrollerdef redirect="" redirect_to="" "url_of_wordpress_blog"endend<="" code=""></applicationcontrollerdef>`_ _Now you can point at yourdomain.com/blog and it will take you to the Wordpress site._

Canonical Rel .uk and .au to .com site?
Hi guys, we have a client whose main site is .com but who has a .co.uk and a com.au site promoting the same company/brand. Each site is verified locally with a local address and phone but when we create content for the sites that is universal, should I rel=canonical those pages on the .co.uk and .com.au sites to the .com site? I saw a post from Dr. Pete that suggests I should as he outlines pretty closely the situation we're in: "The ideal use of cross-domain rel=canonical would be a situation where multiple sites owned by the same entity share content, and that content is useful to the users of each individual site." Thanks in advance for your insight!

1 Ecommerce site for several product segments or 1 Ecommerce site for each product segment ?
I am currently struggling with the decision whether to create individual ecommerce sites for each of 3 consumer product segments or rather to integrate them all under one umbrella domain. Obviously integration under 1 domain makes link building easier, but I am not sure how far google will favor in rankings websites focussed on one topic=product segment. Product segments are medium competitive.Product segments are not directly related but there may be some overlap in customer demographics- Any thoughts ?

SEO for Log in Sites
Hello, I just lunched a website where you have to sign up and to log in in order to use it. So I have the home, also a blog but then the rest of the pages are let's say it "hidden".How would you do the seo for it? I have been cheking facebook, foursquare and some others and they use different approaches. Facebook uses the same description in every single page for example. My site is similar to foursquare users have profile, stats, history, ranking. Well, what is your advice?? Thanks a lot
