Hey Moz community,
I have a blog on https://bangrandm.de dedicated to disposable vapes. The blog is about 1.5 months old, and I’ve created several backlinks for it. However, I just checked the Domain Authority (DA) of my website, and it’s currently at 0.
What steps can I take to increase my DA? Any tips or strategies you can share would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

the domain authority could be low because you do not have many quality back links,
you want really high quality white hat do follow no follow back links leading to as many different pages on your website as possible. Remember only use white hat methods. also your company website, needs to be well designed, offering good u.x

Domain Authority (DA) is a metric developed by Moz that predicts how well a website will rank on search engine result pages (SERPs). Several factors can contribute to a low Domain Authority:
Low-quality Backlinks: Backlinks from authoritative and relevant websites are a major factor in determining DA. If your site has few backlinks, or if those backlinks are from low-quality or irrelevant websites, it can negatively impact your DA.
Poor On-Page Optimization: On-page factors such as meta tags, heading tags, keyword usage, and content quality all influence search engine rankings and, consequently, DA. If your website lacks optimized content, it may struggle to rank well.
Thin or Duplicate Content: Search engines favor websites with unique, high-quality content. If your site has thin content (i.e., lacks substance or depth) or if it contains duplicate content that appears elsewhere on the web, it can hurt your DA.
Slow Page Speed: Page speed is an important ranking factor for search engines and can impact user experience. If your website loads slowly, users are more likely to bounce, which can signal to search engines that your site is less valuable.
Lack of Mobile Optimization: With the increasing use of mobile devices, search engines prioritize mobile-friendly websites in their rankings. If your site is not optimized for mobile devices, it can negatively impact your DA.
Technical Issues: Technical issues such as broken links, 404 errors, or improper redirects can harm your site's usability and, consequently, its ranking potential.
Poor User Experience: Factors such as intrusive ads, difficult navigation, or a cluttered design can lead to a poor user experience. Search engines aim to provide users with the best possible results, so they may penalize sites that offer a subpar user experience.
Improving your Domain Authority requires a comprehensive approach that addresses these factors. Focus on creating high-quality, relevant content, earning authoritative backlinks, optimizing your website for search engines and users, and fixing any technical issues that may be affecting your site's performance. Additionally, be patient, as improving DA often takes time and consistent effort.

A domain may have low authority due to factors such as limited quality backlinks, insufficient relevance and quality of content, or slow website loading speed. Improving these areas through strategic link-building efforts, content optimization, and technical improvements can gradually increase your domain's authority over time.
-
The domain authority could be low on your website because it is brand-new, so you need to improve the organic SEO.
It could also be because you haven't got enough good-quality backlinks. Our summerhouse business did drop off slightly off the first page because some backlinks were deleted.

The domain authority could be low on your website because it is a brand-new company website?
So you need to improve the organic SEO.
It could also be because you haven't got enough good-quality backlinks.
Our fencing business dropped slightly off the first page, simply because some backlinks were deleted, so could it be because you have backlinks deleted?

The only thing I can fathom is that some of your links aren't really being counted. There could be some legitimate reasons for that! For example, some links are no-followed and the links callutheran.edu seem to be from pages which have billions of links on (link-list URLs) which we know Google does not like to count Pinoy Flix
It's possible you got links from some great sites, but all that benefit was nullified by the format under which your links 'actually went live' (e.g: being on spammy link list URLs or being no-followed, or both!)

Yes, making high authority backlinks with a naked URL can increase your site Domain authority. For more information @ https://moz.com/blog/effective-link-building-campaign

If you want to increase the DA of your site, then go to great links with high-quality websites. Mostly try with DA 50 plus. For this always make links with Naked URL like https://pinoyhdonline.su/pariwiki/. Then read it about @ https://moz.com/blog/effective-link-building-campaign you will find everything right here.

We took a quick glance at https://theeurot20slam.comand this is what we found:
-
You have a total of 20 links from root domains. Your competitors have thousands. You need to get links.
-
In order to get links and to keep visitors browsing your site, you need to create compelling content. Look at the top ranking pages' content to get ideas on why there content is compelling and therefore has many links pointing to it.
-
On your Euro T20 Slam History page you spent the first two paragraphs telling me that this page is going to tell me about the history of this league. That's just fluff. You need to just start telling me about the history.
-
On your Boom Boom Shahid Afridi page you also waste the first paragraph telling me that this page is going to tell me about Boom Boom Afridi.
-
Unfortunately, there are a lot of grammar mistakes within your content that you need to fix as well. It's not compelling content if it's a little difficult to read.
You also need to create more pages. For example, when I go to your Icon Players page, you have a brief summary of 4 players but only one of them has a link to a bio page all about that player (Shahid Afridi). You'll have a better chance at ranking for Shane Waston, Brendon McCullum, and Rashid Khan if you build out awesome pages for each player.
Good luck!

To be honest I do find this very surprising and it would be interesting to see someone from Moz comment directly with the nuts and bolts of why this is. Google always ways that in terms of links, quality trumps quantity. Here we have an example of someone who has produced a new website, which Moz says has only a few links - but they are (for the most part) medium-high to high in terms of quality
I honestly would have expected to see a higher DA rating with links like that

If you want links to count for SEO, they have to be less shared and more your own. They have to serve a strong, obvious purpose that would bring users from one site to another (links which probably carry no actual traffic, aren't weighted by Google). Obviously your links should not be nullified for SEO via the no-follow tag

Basically, buy more high DA links from even more domains, I'd recommend in investing DA 60+ links. Moxz has produce some great Blogs recently on this matter:

Our Domains DA has dropped from 52 to 17
Hi,
Link Explorer | | JudyLam
Our domain's DA (www.tricorglobal.com) has dropped drastically from 52 to 17 on Mar 2019. And has only gone up to 21 now. Is there a reason why this happened. On the other hand, our competitor's score has increased. Is there a valid reason for this? How can I find out what is hurting our DA and how can I fix this?1 -

How long does it take to turn around a 10/17 SPAM score domain?
Hi - Looking at acquiring a domain name that has a great product fit. The problem is it is currently getting a 10/17 Open Site Explorer SPAM score. The existing site for the domain is running Google sponsored link ads and is full of internal pages that link off to these ads. That explains the existing SPAM score. If I acquire the domain I'll throw out the Google ad pages and build instead a site with real valuable content that behaves like a normal site and look at building backlinks etc. My question is, following this approach, how long is it likely to take Google to not see the domain as some Spam factory so it starts getting well positioned SERPs?

Domain Authority dropped by 9!
Hello Mozzers, I have logged onto MOZ this morning to see that my domain authority has slipped (seemingly overnight) from 61 to 52! The competitors i track have also slipped but not as dramatically as me and my domain. Is this an expected change in the algorithm? Have all industries been affected? Any help / explanation would be very much appreciated. Ben

Root Domain and Subdomain Links OpenSite Explorer
I'm using opensite explorer trying to explore who is linking to my clients site. In the main blue area it shows total links as 20, which I understand is to the specific page. In the Root Domain Metrics it shows 4,032 external links. Sub domain Metrics shows 1,973. How do I find out where the links are? I tried creating a advanced link report with the "Links that to" are checked off as "any page on this root domain" and only shows 91 of the links? What am I doing wrong or missing?
