WP DomainName.de in permalink
-
Hey.
On my WordPress page I did reviews about other websites. My page is in German language.
My keywords and title are: "DomainName.de Erfahrungen".
Wordpress changes the dot "." to an dash "-" and I cannot change it. Yoast SEO told me, my keywords are not (complete) in my permalink.
Google use an "-" to separate to words (https://moz.com/community/q/how-is-a-dash-or-handled-by-google-search).
Wordpress changes a "." to a "-": domain-de
Invasion forum just removes the ".": domainde
Trustpilot has the full domainame in permalink: domain.de
So what's is the best strategy for the best SEO results?

Hello Darin.
Maybe I did not express myself correctly.
I talk about the dot (".") in permalinks (slug) from Wordpress. When I enter "Domain.de Erfahrungen" as post title, Wordpress rewrite the permalink as "myproject.de/artikel/domain-de-erfahrungen". WP replace the dot with an dash.
I found already an solution to change that, so that the permalink now looks like "myproject.de/artikel/domain.de-erfahrungen".
So, I want to know what's the best strategy for Google.
Wordpress has - by design - following permalink: /domain-de-erfahrungen/
Invasion forum just delete the dot: /domainde-erfahrungen/
Trustpilot has following permalinks: /review/www.domain.de/
As my keyword is "domain.de Erfahrungen" - I want to know, what permalink should I use to get best results for Google.

To fix problem: Have you tried adding a www or http(s) before the domain? (aka the full url)
As far as SEO goes, my initial thought as just having the name without the .de would suffice to get it indexed and moving. Obviously content on the page will matter more here. One thing you can do is think about using the brand vs the domain. If I want to review Amazon.com I could simple say "Amazon Review" or "Amazon's Website Review" etc. But I would need to look at keyword research and some intent behind the content to see what's best in your case. I tend to like to write longer more informative titles unless it's for social media. Instead of "Amazon Review" I would probably go with something like "My Awkward Experience on Amazon's Website" or something along those lines. Not a great title but if I saw that in the SERPs I might take a peak.
Though the title is important, your content and your overall review is going to matter for getting it up in the rankings. The title will bring them in for sure, but you need to be found first. Let me know if adding the full url helped. If not we can try a few other things.

But, after few days it got de-rank automatically and Moz is also not showing any result to that. I was wandering why this just happened and what should I do if I made my website and will not face this kind of situation?

Site:www.domainname.com - does not find homepage in Google (only inner pages - why?)
When I do a Google search on site:www.domainname.com, my clients homepage does not appear. Other inner pages do. The same thing happend a while ago and I did 'fetch by google' in Search Console. After that the homepage was indexed again when I did a site:www.domainname.com search. But now (2 weeks later), it's gone again. When I search on the brand name of the website in Google it does find the homepage. I don't know why it doesn't find the homepage when I do a site: search. Any ideas? Need to de-index certain pages fast
I need to de-index certain pages as fast as possible. These pages are already indexed. What is the fastest way to do this? I have added the noindex meta tag and run a few of the pages through Search Console/Webmaster tools (fetch as google) earlier today, however nothing has changed yet. The 'fetch as google' services do see the noindex tag, but it haven't changed the SERPs yet. I now I should be patient, but if there is a faster way to get Google to de-index these pages, I want to try that. I am considering the removal tool also, but I'm unsure if that is risky to do. And even if it's not, I can understand it's not a permanent solution anyway. What to do?

Disallowing WP 'author' page archives
Hey Mozzers. I want to block my author archive pages, but not the primary page of each author. For example, I want to keep /author/jbentz/ but get rid of /author/jbentz/page/4/. Can I do that in robots by using a * where the author name would be populated. ' So, basically... my robots file would include something like this... Disallow: /author/*/page/ Will this work for my intended goal... or will this just disallow all of my author pages?

Page titles in browser not matching WP page title
I have an issue with a few page titles not matching the title I have In WordPress. I have 2 pages, blog & creative gallery, that show the homepage title, which is causing duplicate title errors. This has been going on for 5 weeks, so its not an a crawl issue. Any ideas what could cause this? To clarify, I have the page title set in WP, and I checked "Disable PSP title format on this page/post:"...but this page is still showing the homepage title. Is there an additional title setting for a page in WP?

Custom Permalinks (aka alias') - does it look spammy to googlebot?
I am moving my whole site over to wordpress (150+pgs). In the process I assigned pages to appropriate parent pages via "page attributes". I was really excited about this. I like how it organizes everything in the pages dashboard. I also think that the sitemap that comes with my theme can create something really great for visitors with this info. What I realized after doing that is that it changed my url to include the parent page. Basically, the url is now "domain.com/parent-page/child-page.html". This is rather disasterous because the url's of these newly created child pages on my old site are simple "domain.com/child-page". Not that they're defined as parent or child pages on my existing dreamweaver/html site... but you know what I mean - Right?! I got a plugin called "Permalink Editor" to let me customize the url. So, I went through all of the child pages and got rid of the parent page in the url. Then when I woke up this morning I realized that what I've created is a "permalink alias". That sounds a little bit scary to me. Perhaps like google could consider it spam and like I'm trying to "sculpt link flow". I'm not... I'm just trying to recreate my site as it is in wordpress. I want the site to be exactly the same in terms of the url's. But, I want the many benefit's of wordpress' CMS. Should I go an unassign all of the parent/child pages in the "Page Attributes". Or, am I being paranoid and should I leave it as is? fyi - this is the first page that came up with I searched for permalink alias. It looks kind of black-hatty to me?!

How do you manage Wordpress URL hierarchy with permalinks?
I have quite a few website in Wordpress but I continuously run into the same issue. With permalinks it is not recommended to use /%category%/%post_name%/ because it puts an undue load on your bandwidth, server and makes the crawler crawl a ton of duplicate content pages. On one site changing to that hierarchy even crashed some of the pages (probably a permissions error). I would like a correct information hierarchy, but this doesn't seem like correct play. What do you use as your URL hierarchy?
