Content suggestions
-
Hello,
I am looking at the content suggestions in the page optimisation section and was wondering why the system says that some pages cover some topics and some don't cover it ? Is it based on finding "noun phrases" that co-occurre (twice the same one) ? or "noun phrases" that are used in the same context (even though they are different) ?
Thank you,

Hi there!
Sam from Moz's Help Team here!
So, Content Suggestions aren't based on either of these - they're just topics that we've seen used on pages that are ranking well for the keyword that you queried. If you're looking to help a particular piece of content rank well, they are topics that you may consider including. The idea is that the topic content may be helping those pages rank if they're a relevant and useful.
For example, here is a report from the keyword "seo" - pages who rank well for "seo" are also talking about '"search console", "seo keywords", "seo agency", among other things. This area can be used as ideas for content generation - for example, in a new blog article on my SEO site I might want to talk about Google's Search Console, keyword research, agency topics, etc, as it would seem that searchers are finding this topics relevant and useful.

Duplicate content found in scan
On June 8th we ran a Moz Crawl on our site. We found 144 pages that were flagged with duplicate content.
Moz Bar | | StickyLife
Again on June 13th we ran another moz crawl on our site and found 137 pages that were flagged with duplicate content. Then one final scan on June 22nd with 161 pages of duplicate content. After comparing the 3 different scans I see that, without making any changes, pages that were not flagged as duplicate content are now being flagged as duplicate content. While at the same time, pages that were originally flagged as duplicate content are now no longer showing up with duplicate content. I could understand if we made some changes to these pages but no changes were made. For example: On the 8th this page was flagged as duplicate content - https://www.stickylife.com/star-magnet
On the 13th and 22nd it was not flagged as duplicate content but no changes were made to that page. For reference it was flagged as duplicate content with the following page: https://www.stickylife.com/baseball-glove-magnet This page was also Not changed or altered between between these dates. In addition, when Moz scans our site through our campaign every Friday the results do not match what we see when we do a manual scan. Moz's weekly scan only reveals 14 pages with duplicate content as opposed to the numbers you see above. Why such inconsistencies in the Moz Scans?0 -
Error in Duplicate Content Being Reported - Pages Aren't Actually Duplicates
The recent crawl of one of our sites revealed a high number of duplicate content issues. However, when I viewed the report for pages with duplicate content I noticed almost all of them are not duplicates. For example, these two pages are marked as dupes:
Moz Bar | | M_D_Golden_Peak
https://www.writersstore.com/publishers/hollywood-creative-directory
https://www.writersstore.com/authors/g-miki-hayden These are thin as far as content goes but definitely not duplicates. Any recommendations or ways to adjust the settings so that these false positives aren't clogging up our site crawl report?0 -
Duplicate content reported for totally different pages
Hi, The Moz report is showing just over 21,500 duplicate page issues on our site. This is more or less every page we have. However when I look at the pages it says are duplicates they are totally different (it could for example report that a news page for 2009 is the same as a product page just added which has no relation when you read the content or view the page). What sort of thing could it be picking up as duplicate content? I assume it must be something in the HTML for the site rather than the actual page content as there is no cross over at all on the pages highlighted. The only issue I can currently identify is that the menu for the mobile version of the site has a huge number of internal links which I will cut down. If the tools purely look at HTML content this could be seen as duplicate but shouldn't it be clever enough to realise what is content and what is site structure? Thanks,

Ok, I have a strange duplicate content issue.
Just ran MOZ against my site and about fell of my chair, over 1k pages being flagged as having duplicate content. That's about every page on the site. I downloaded the CSV file and things got even more confusing, The URL's under "URL" and " Duplicate Page Content" area exactly the same. Am I missing something? I would expect the URL under Duplicate Page Content to show a different URL, to the page with the exact same content. Any help would be appreciated, traffic is tanking and I need to get this figured out. Thanks,

Duplicate content - Which is the other duplicate page?
Hi I just ran a campaign, and I got a duplicate content warning for some of my pages. When I go into the diagnostic report, I am unable to find the page detected by google as 'duplicate' to the main page. Unless I know which 2 pages are being detected as duplicate, it'll be really difficult to actually solve the problem. Would be great to have any kind of help here. Thanks in advance!

Moz Dupe content crawl anomaly
Hi Moz has completed a crawl for a site i'm working on which also has a development area (hence with lots of dupe content) on a sub domain (and this dev area hasn't been hidden from crawlers via password, robots, gwt etc etc). Moz dupe content report is not showing any of these urls though even though my campaign setting is on 'root' domain so i would have thought report should be listing the subdomain urls as dupe content (because they are dupe content). Any ideas ? Cheers Dan
