Can I add FAQS schema on my homepage?
-
Hello, can we have the FAQ code on the homepage (staff time)?
we have written some questions and answers in the drop-down list on the homepage,
and also add the schema code script to one tag of the page,
but it does not work!
-
Yes, If you have a portion of FAQ's on homepage you can add faq schema to it. It will help in rich snippet.
-
Yes you could absolutely. However I think you mark up is excellent for a lot of things it’s not known for driving traffic. Just so your aware google tells us ”
- Don’t use
FAQPagefor advertising purposes.”
I doubt your homepage would count but you never now in addition FAQ content turns to get clicked on very seldomly.
Because the answers to the questions are found in the SERPS people do not have to leave Google to find the answers
I know taking up more googles real estate sounds good like a featured snippet but not if your customer only cares about the answers & Google is already providing them. Which FAQ does extremely well.
below I tested your page tested as well as a mock up of inappropriately marked up page hopefully this will be of help
also below are what Google considers valid and invalid reasons for FAQ schema
look at the top of the page for errors some of your fonts aren’t loading

here’s an example of what it might look like with the correct FAQ markup

One of my favorite tools for generating structured data in JSON-LD FAQ is built-in.

- A product support page where users can submit answers to a single question

Don’t use
FAQPagefor advertising purposes. -
Make sure each
Questionincludes the entire text of the question and make sure eachAnswerincludes the entire text of the answer. The entire question text and answer text may be displayed. -
Question and answer content may not be displayed as a rich result if it contains any of the following types of content: obscene, profane, sexually explicit, graphically violent, promotion of dangerous or illegal activities, or hateful or harassing language.

All

hope this helps,

Redirecting homepage to internal page (2nd Tier page)
We are planning to experiment redirecting our homepage to one of the 2nd tier page. I mean....example.com to example.com/page. We need this page to rank well, but it doesn't have much internal links or external back-links, so we opt for this redirect. Advantage with this page is, it has "keyword" we want to rank for in URL. "page" in example.com/page. Will this help or hurt us in SEO? I think we are missing keyword in our root domain, so interested to highlight this page. Thanks, Satish

Google cache is showing my UK homepage site instead of the US homepage and ranking the UK site in US
Hi There, When I check the cache of the US website (www.us.allsaints.com) Google returns the UK website. This is also reflected in the US Google Search Results when the UK site ranks for our brand name instead of the US site. The homepage has hreflang tags only on the homepage and the domains have been pointed correctly to the right territories via Google Webmaster Console. This has happened before in 26th July 2015 and was wondering if any had any idea why this is happening or if any one has experienced the same issueFDGjldR

Why is this SERP displaying an incorrect URL for my homepage?
The full URL of a particular site's homepage is something like http://www.example.com/directory/.
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | TheEspresseo
The canonical and og URLs match.
The root domain 301 redirects to it using the absolute path. And yet the SERP (and the cached version of the page) lists it simply as http://www.example.com/. What gives? Could the problem be found at some deeper technical level (.htaccess or DirectoryIndex or something?) We fiddled with things a bit this week, and while our most recent changes appear to have been crawled (and cached), I am wondering whether I should give it some more time before I proceed as if the SERP won't ever reflect the correct URL. If so, how long? [EDIT: From the comments, see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8QKIweOzH4#t=2838]0 -
Keyword Phrases - Can You Break Them Up?
Can you break up a search query across a sentence and have Google still recognize which query you are targeting? Let's say I'm trying to rank a page for the phrase "best haircuts calgary". Is Google's algorithm advanced enough to look at page title "Best Haircuts - Where To Get Them In Calgary" and know it's targeting the query "best haircuts calgary"? If it can't do this right now, I could see it advancing to this at some point in the future, which would then change the game quite a bit in terms of how creative you can get creating pages for queries.
