Question About creating seperate websites or using a subdomain or just subfolders...Thanks!
-
I am working with a company who has created a reservation software...We have been advertising this software aggressively and have been doing well with companies coming on board...Let's call the company ABC and the url was ABC.com...Now they are launching a customer facing side of things that will have all the clients listed for consumers to book at their location...So an online marketplace...Like VRBO or AirBnB...They are taking the name of the software company and making it the url for the marketplace site...So now the marketplace is ABC.com and we need to figure out if we go with a new site for the software side or if we use subdomains or a subfolder....
Do we go with
ABCSoftware.com - New root domain
ABC.software.com - Subdomain
ABC.com/software - Subfolder
There are a few other intricacies with this...Not all the companies that use the software will be on the marketplace side...And people who book through the company but using the software have a url embedded on their site that books there directly...This booking costs the company less than a booking that comes through the marketplace so this needs to be kept separate...
Thanks for the help everyone!

@Moni_Jonny said in Question About creating separate websites or using a subdomain or just subfolders...Thanks!:
I generally recommend using subfolders whenever feasible for SEO purposes. However, I understand that there are situations where subdomains may be necessary due to technical constraints.

I always advise to go with subfolders if you can for SEO purposes if at all possible but I understand that sometimes for technical reasons, subdomains are necessary.

I wouldn't go the route of creating new root domains. I wouldn't want to worry about having to renew all those domains each year.

I've seen many subdomains rank just as well as subfolders so I wouldn't worry about it if you need to go that route.

Rookie question re Moz Crawl errors after deleting a property from console.
Hi all, I stupidly removed the "http" url of my one website a few days back (it is one of three, the other two being the https), then re-added it around a day later and, while google console isn't reporting back any errors, Moz Crawl is going to town on this now for one critical "4xx" issues, canonicals and various other content issues that I addressed days previously...last Moz crawl performed an hour ago, url deleted and re-added two days ago. I have resubmitted a sitemap, will this smooth itself out or shall I go and make changes? Many thanks in advance.

Canonical URLs all show trailing slash on main site pages - using Yoast SEO for Wordpress - how to correct
We are using Yoast for a number of our sites. We use naked domain as the canonical. I have noticed in the header tags that all our sites show the canonical URLs as having a trailing slash: Example: http;//foxspizzajc.com, when I look at the source code, it shows the canonical as http;//foxspizzajc.com/ Of course, it is much more likely that all sites that link to us will not use the trailing slash - so preferably we do not want that to be the canonical - among other reasons. Does this need to be fixed so the trailing slash is removed? I cannot see how to do this in Yoast SEO or in Permalinks structure for Wordpress. Sorry for my ignorance. Thanks for any help.

Ranktracker entire subdomain option
About http://ranktracker.seomoz.org ... if I search on Google for "my phrase" I can see **www.**mysite.com on first place Doesn't this mean that I should see a similar position on ranktracker if I type "http://mysite.com" (without www) and I select the "Entire Subdomain" radio button ? Because this shows that I am NOT in top 50. It does show up if I type my site with www and I select eider "entire subdomain" or "exact url" radio button. Thank you.

Using the On-Page optimization Report Card
I am curious if there is a way to get the on page optimization report card to not show a grade of "F" for a page that I'm not targeting a particular keyword for? For example my home page has a lot of grade "F's" for keywords that are targeted on different pages.

Using MOZ Keyword Rankings with Google Analytics in Excel to track paid keywords
Hi, I sorted my keywords in GA from highest incoming traffic to lowest, exported it and then imported these 280 or something keywords into SEO Moz. The problem is, it appears that SEO Moz Keyword Rankings tool pulls traffic data (in the traffic column) only for NON-PAID traffic ... So what I'm seeing is that keywords that brings A LOT of traffic to my site (because of AdWords) sometimes have 0 of traffic in SEO Moz, because I'm on page 3 of SERP and I literally got no non-paid traffic that week. The thing is: I want to improve my rankings for keywords that I'm already performing well, even if they are paid keywords, because they already bring me a lot of traffic to my website. The way this is working is not helping me out, because when I sort by the traffic column very important keywords end up in the last place for me. Questions: Whey does SEO Moz pull traffic data from non-paid keywords only ? Shouldn't be at least an option for this or I'm missing something here ? While they don't change it, any Excel Gurus could help me how to export SEO Moz ranking data, import it on Excel and MERGE a new "paid traffic" column that I export from Google Analytics ? How to assing each keyword line the paid traffic value I'm getting from GA ? Thanks ! Felipe

How do I delete a question?
Having problems with this question, old edits get saved as copies of the question, even this one had to be edited twice, originally an old version of an edited question. How do I DELETE a question I authored (like this one) I see no button for it.
