Page Ranking Incorrect According to Moz
-
Hello,
A while ago I published an article on our blog (HERE) and ensured that it meets all Moz's criteria for a good ranking. Moz scores my article at 96%, which is great. However, Google does not show my link anywhere, even that the target keyword has a difficulty score of 5% only.
Any idea why this page is not doing good on Google?
The article URL is: https://missionquest.org/how-to-choose-a-missionary-service-agency/ The target keyword is: Missionary Service Agency.
Thank you for your help.

Dear Boyd,
Thank you for your response.Yes, I did add the hyperlink per your recommendation. Your answers are very helpful! Thank you.

Google typically only shows one page per domain for each query but sometimes will show two or more for keywords with less competition.
The page has not been blacklisted. If you search "site:https://missionquest.org/how-to-choose-a-missionary-service-agency/", you can see that Google has that page indexed because they list it in the results. You can also click on the little drop down arrow and see that Google last crawled that page on May 15th, 2020.
Also, I see that you added an internal link to https://missionquest.org/how-to-choose-a-missionary-service-agency/ from https://missionquest.org/what-is-a-missionary-service-agency/. I suspect when Google re-crawls that page and sees the addition of the internal link, that https://missionquest.org/how-to-choose-a-missionary-service-agency/ will start ranking for "how to choose a missionary service agency". Google last recrawled that page on June 8th so it may take a week before Google re-crawls that page.

Thank you, Boyd, for your response. This is indeed very helpful. Does Google have a limit on how many pages he would display for a certain page per domain? Also, when I search "How to choose a missionary service agency" this page does not show up either. Is it possible that, for some reason, Google blacklisted this page?
-
I manually searched in Google for "missionary service agency" and found that you are ranking in positions #1 and #2. The pages that rank though, are https://missionquest.org/missionary-service-agency and https://missionquest.org/what-is-a-missionary-service-agency/ respectively.
The reason why the specific page you mentioned is not ranking is because Google finds these other pages more relevant for this phrase. If you want that page to rank first over the other two, you're going to need to de-optimize the other pages a bit. Also try linking to your new article from the two ranking pages using the phrase, "missionary service agency" as the anchor text.

Mission,
I know, if only there was an interwebs where Moz was in control of the search engine, we could just run our lives based on domain authority : )
But... Moz gives you an approximation of how well your on-page is optimized but there are a gazillion factors that go into google's algorithm, such as, maybe if your site has another page that ranks for the same or very similar target keyword, for example, of which you have a couple. Some people call that keyword cannibalization. Maybe go after a different keyword?

Why Would My Page Have a Higher PA and DA, Links & On-Page Grade & Still Not Rank?
The Search Term is "Alcohol Ink" and our client has a better page authority, domain authority, links to the page, and on-page grade than those in the SERP for spaces 5-10 and we're not even ranked in the top 51+ according to Moz's tracker. The only difference I can see is that our URL doesn't use the exact text like some of the 5-10 do. However, regardless of this, our on-page grade is significantly higher than the rest of them. The one thing I found was that there were two links to the page (that we never asked for) that had a spam score in the low 20's and another in the low 30's. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to maybe get around this? Certainly, a content campaign and linking campaign around this could also help but I'm kind of scratching my head. The client is reputable, with a solid domain age and well recognized in the space so it's not like it's a noob trying to get in out of nowhere.

How to rank same page for multiple related keywords
We need some of our pages to rank for multiple related keywords. But we cannot optimise one page for multiple keywords which might end up ranking for none of them; at the same time we cannot optimise it for one keyword as we ignore other keywords. I think creating multiple landing pages for very related keywords will confuse users and search engines as well. How to handle this?

Will Reducing Number of Low Page Authority Page Increase Domain Authority?
Our commercial real estate site (www.nyc-officespace-leader.com) contains about 800 URLs. Since 2012 the domain authority has dropped from 35 to about 20. Ranking and traffic dropped significantly since then. The site has about 791 URLs. Many are set to noindex. A large percentage of these pages have a Moz page authority of only "1". It is puzzling that some pages that have similar content to "1" page rank pages rank much better, in some cases "15". If we remove or consolidate the poorly ranked pages will the overall page authority and ranking of the site improve? Would taking the following steps help?: 1. Remove or consolidate poorly ranking unnecessary URLs?

2. Update content on poorly ranking URLs that are important?
3. Create internal text links (as opposed to links from menus) to critical pages? A MOZ crawl of our site's URLs is visible at the link below. I am wondering if the structure of the site is just not optimized for ranking and what can be done to improve it. THANKS. https://www.dropbox.com/s/oqchfqveelm1q11/CRAWL www.nyc-officespace-leader.com (1).csv?dl=0 Thanks,

Search engine keyword rank - easiest way to check the keywords that rank across website
What is the best keyword ranking tool you have used? I have used various tools by which I am expected to identify and input the keyword I want to track... However, recently I was introduced to Searchmetrics, which I think automatically pulls in the keywords a website ranks for, without the need for manual input from the SEO (I haven't used this tool yet, so apologies if I am incorrect!). Do any other rank trackers work like this? Thanks, Luke

Incorrect cached page indexing in Google while correct page indexes intermittently
Hi, we are a South African insurance company. We have a page http://www.miway.co.za/midrivestyle which has a 301 redirect to http://www.miway.co.za/car-insurance. Problem is that the former page is ranking in the index rather than the latter. The latter page does index occasionally in the same position, but rarely. This is primarily for search phrases like "car insurance" and "car insurance quotes". The ranking was knocked down the index with Penquin 2.0. It was not ranking at all but we have managed to recover to 12/13. This abnormally has only been occurring since the recovery. The correct page does index for other search terms like "insurance for car". Your help would be appreciated, thanks!

Web pages fighting over rank for one keyword. Can it be stopped?
Hey, See attachment. Website is Omega Red. The page I want to rank for seems like it is being held back by other closely related pages with similar titles. I am looking to rank for electrical earthing with this page. On the graph it shows how the other pages have interacted over a period of time on the website and how if they drop out of the top 50 this page then moves up in Google. I don't really want to canonicalise the other pages into one but maybe this is what needs to happen? Any suggestions? bWymgVt.jpg

Internal page ranking
If I have a domain: Example.com I want this domain to rank for several keywords. I build a page on the domain called Example.com/glasses If I SEO the page Example.com/glasses with backlinks etc... will that URL come up on google or will it simply bring Example.com up on the SERPS. If I have three keywords, should I make a subpage for each page and SEO that page? Will that make the domain rank for all three keywords?

What causes internal pages to have a page rank of 0 if the home page is PR 5?
The home page PageRank is 5 but every single internal page is PR 0. Things I know I need to address each page has 300 links (Menu problem). Each article has 2-3 duplicates caused from the CMS working on this now. Has anyone else had this problem before? What things should I look out for to fix this issue. All internal linking is follow there is no page rank sculpting happening on the pages.
