Direct traffic is almost always going to be one of your top traffic sources. There are a number of reasons people end up in this bucket.
- They open a new browser and go straight to your site. There is no referrer to track here and is what people think of when they see the Direct bucket.
- A user was on your site, but kept the tab open. Hours or days later, they get back to the tab and engage again. That is a direct session since there was not a referrer.
- A user is blocking the information of the referring site through their own computer settings. You can't control this.
- A mistake happens on the referring site's side. You can't see this either or do anything about it. A company I worked for saw a spike in Direct traffic that ended up being Snapchat ads once. There wasn't much to be done.
- A mistake is happening in your setup of Google Analytics. This is unlikely, but if you have a custom setup, talk to the person that is in charge of that on your site.

I have an issue with hubspot's blog platform and duplicate content.
It is redirecting all https to http and I am unable to change it, resulting in a lot of duplicate content. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, did you find a solution? Or does anyone have any suggestions?

What is the difference between my pages' keyword rank and keyword-specific SERP?
I've been tasked with identifying high volume keywords for products our company sells and optimizing our copy and listings to rank higher on Google. The Keyword Explorer and On-Page Grader have been fantastic for this, but as I write my reports, i'm not sure whether SERP or Moz's keyword page rank would be more accurate for reporting results and movement. For instance, one of our product pages ranks #12 for the highest (relevant) volume keyword, but when looking at the SERP analysis for that keyword, our product page actually shows up at #7 down the list. I've tried naturally searching in Google in case it was an issue of private results based on my user data but it seems to give the same result. Am I conflating two different tools? Or is the Moz rank just an estimate?

Tags on my website cause duplicate content
Hi I just recently started a website and I am new to MOZ pro. What Moz pro detected on my website under high priority is that "duplicate page content" and what I realize about these duplicate page content is regarding the tags i put on my post. Because it is a wordpress blog, we are allow to add tags on the side before we publish our post. And because of these tags, it linked to the same page but different url. for example website.com/tags/whatever website.com/tags/whatever 2 and both these url direct to the same page So how do i solve this? do i just stop tagging whenever i write a post? delete all tags while it is not necessary? i seen method like 301 redirect or rel=canonical but is there anyway to solve this problem so I do not face this issue whenever i make a new post in my blog? I mean it doesnt make sense to redirect 301 to every single tags i have whenever i write a new post right? thanks guys

Something I'm missing META Description
When using the SEOMoz on page analysis for "luxury marquee hire" on www.katalysticevents.com it's telling me I have no meta description but my source code includes the following: Line 94 <meta property="<a class="attribute-value">og:description</a>" content="<a class="attribute-value">Katalystic Events - Luxury Marquee Hire</a>" /> Being a real newbie am I missing something here? I've included the info uploaded form my wordpress CMS, why is SEOmoz not picking this meta description up?

On-Page SEO Fixes - Are They Relative?
So, I'm implementing on-page fixes for a site that my company runs SEO services for (www.ShadeTreePowersports.com). However, I was wondering if there was a way to rank a pages' SEO quality, in general? As of now, it seems like the only way your recommendations can be consumed and altered is on a keyword basis. However, this seems be the reason I have a good amount of my F-Grades. Since my website sells powersports apparel and accessories, we cover a variety of applicable (but different) keywords like 'Motorcycle parts' or 'snow tubes,' because we sell so many different types of products. But, when I look at my F-Grades - SEOMoz is telling me my homepage is ranking poorly for a multitude of those pertinent keywords - but only because my page isn't catered specifically to each of them (IE: 'Snowmobile Parts' - 'Water Sport Apparel') But, with so many different types of products, catering to a specific one is impossible and would be detrimental. Is there a way to see how a page ranks, without factoring in those keywords? Or a better way that I can use these recommendations more efficiently? Thanks guys!

OpenSiteExplorer Doesn't Show accurate links
Why do I get different results from SEOmoz tool bar and OpenSiteExplorer for some sites. For instance I look at one site and toolbar says it has 101 link domains, so I check it in OpenSiteExplorer and it says 2 link domains...? Am I missing something, or is it just not working properly?

Why is the SEOmoz crawler crawling the old version of our website?
Hello, I'm a new SEOmoz member. On Dec. 2nd, after completely redesigning our website, we migrated to a new hosting company by switching our DNS to the new server. The vast majority of the URLs have changed and we configured redirects of the old URLs to the new ones. Although, this task is not completed yet. After the migration, I created an account on SEOmoz to be able to track our progress and find the issues to fix to optimize our SEO. For some reason, in the SEOmoz reports it is the old URLs that show up. Unless the crawler does not actually crawl the pages and only uses the indexed pages to generate its report, I don't understand how could this possible. Anyone has a clue? When will the new URLs be indexed by SEOmoz and the major search engines? Thanks for your help!
