It's also worth mentioning that in addition to a possible need to disavow poor quality backlinks, you may have "lost" quality backlinks and / or your competitors may have gained backlinks. (Keep in mind that PA and DA also take competitive landscape into consideration.)

My DA went down by 10 points! Is it because I just started adding NO FOLLOW links?
Ug! Super upset. I went from a 41 to a 31, and I am not sure why. I did switch hosts 3 months ago, and I also JUST started using no follow links b/c someone told me that would help RAISE my DA. I would love any thoughts or advice. Thanks!

Has anyone seen a recent drop in Page Authority?
We have seen a sizeable drop in Page Authority for three of our key category pages over the last one week.The total number of linking root domains has increased for all the three pages. We have disavowed a few spammy links but we doubt that would cause a drop in page authority. The domain authority is unchanged.Is there any way we could figure out the cause of the drop? Has anyone else also noticed a drop in page authority for their pages? Sudden Unexplained Drop Should I Disavow
We saw a sudden drop of about 10-12 positions on a couple of core keywords. We received no messages in Webmaster Tools. I have been on board only 2 months. I looked back at the linking profile and there are some spammy things I would never have authorized. Most of it is a couple of years old, although it seems Google is still just starting to "discover" some of the links. There are maybe 15 domains with spammy links to us and each of them have anywhere from 5-20 different links pointing our way. Should I setup the disavow file for Google? My concern is I draw attention to this and it may not be the reason we have dropped.

DA Vs PA
What is more important to to create a strong PA or a Strong DA? I do not do a ton of back linking to my index page. I focus more on my focus page I am working on. I watch a SEOMOZ video and I took that DA is the most important as he only did back links to his index if I understood right.

Ranking dropped by 7 positions for many keywords
Hey, Since yesterday my ranking dropped by in average 7 positions for most keywords. iIm not 100% sure whats the matter. I rank under the top3 for a quite comptetitive keyword since several months. During the last 4 weeks it wasn't that stady (between 2 - 4) because the competition is using an aggressiv link building method.

I'm adding constantly new content and the link building is also quite natural. Maybe I linked the same sites from some of my blogs too often... and Google may see it as a "link network". I experience the same for two of those sites. Maybe I should remove those links? Any suggestions? Thanks!0
