My DA hasn't changed in over a year
-
My DA has been stuck at 32 for over a year, despite me producing lots of new, relevant content for my site and getting many high-quality backlinks from decent websites. Both my keywords and link profile have grown... but DA has not.
I know these things take time, but I've watched competitors climb from low DA to now higher than me in a year, and I have no clue why I haven't grown too.
I'm not entirely sure what to do next. Moz says I don't have any crawler issues, so I assume it's seeing my site ok. Any advice, clues, ideas very welcome. Thanks

Hey WanderingBird,
I'll start by saying the following is broad so take it with some salt as I don't fully know your status. Not all links are created equal. it somewhat comes back to which is better, 100 DA1 links or 1 DA100 link? Is there a possibility that the competitor has hight quality link more than the quantity?
There is also a somewhat of a saturation point I find with DA, not to mention DA is not used by Google so try not to get too hooked up on it if you're still performing well, it doesn't take into account things like the quality of the content on your site etc.
You can also check-in link explorer and sort by 'new' to see what is being picked up and see if it matched with either internal records or Search engine console, that would help you Id if its an issue with Moz. You will find that 'newer' content and its a lot quicker to climb from e.g. 0 - 20 DA than it is to go from 20-40 etc.
If you really want a fun afternoon you can compare their links and your own but don't get too stuck looking at them as its better to lead than to follow.
Don't get diss-heartened keep up the work, its a marathon and not a sprint. You can always try to think outside the box on the content you could create that might appeal outside your niche whilst benefiting it and you open a whole other can of worms!
sorry I couldn't give you a direct answer there are a lot of variables so the above is broad ideas of what it may be but without really digging around its hard to guess. If you really have to know why they're ranking differently I'd suggest looking at what is linking to them compared to you. Hope you find something helpful in the above. Good luck!

'spammy' domains redirecting to website
Hi Everyone, I hope that someone will be able to help us with this one as we have trawled the internet looking for a solution! We have multiple domains (.com/.co.uk/.net versions) which all point to the one website, however, some of these domains have a high spam score - 9-11. Our first initial reaction would be to remove the auto redirects, but, the other domains have been a source of conversion in previous months (or so analytics tells us). So what I'm wondering, is do we remove the 'spammy' links from redirecting to our site, or do we leave them there? We certainly don't want to risk a penalty. Thanks for reading!

How Are Competitor's With Zero Links (According to SEOmoz) Ranking Highly?
Hey everyone! This is my first post in the community after just signing up for SEOmoz. I've already got a ton of value from this community so I'm looking for to giving back as much as possible. The keyword gets 8000+ monthly searches on Google. Not so many, but the keyword indicates high buying intention. The funny thing is that the top ranking page has 0 backlinks (according to OSE). It seems as though there are some black hat tactics being used, as I doubt that they are ranking solely with on-page optimization. Any idea what's going on? Have you guys/gals seen this before?

Open Site Explorer - Finding 404s from my competitor's external linking Root Domains
I want to find websites that have linked 404s to my competitors. My goal is to contact webmasters who have linked to my competitors with 404s, but I cannot figure out how to get Open Site Explorer to give me that data. I can easily see this in GWT for my own site, but I need this for my competition instead. Does anybody know a quick way to get this information?

How do sites have so many 'total links'?
I've been analyzing some of our competitors: essayedge.com and papercheck.com Both sites have a large number of 'total links'... about 93,000 each. The former has about 1,200 linking root domains while the latter only has 195. Even for 1,200 linking root domains, 93k total links seems like a ton to me. Our site has 101 linking root domains and only 299 'total links'. I'm quite new to this whole SEO game and admittedly still learning a TON. Am I missing something here? How do sites generate so many links? This seems nuts to me. Thanks for any help!
