Solving URL Too Long Issues

Moz.com is reporting that many URL's are to long, these particularly affect Product URL's where the URL is typically https://www.domainname.com/collections/category-name/products/product-name, (You guessed it we're using Shopify).
However, we use Canonicals that ignore all most of the URL and are just structured https://www.domainname.com/product-name, so Google should be reading the Canonical and not the long-winded version.
However, Moz cannot seem to spot this... does anyone else have this problem and how to solve so that we can satisfy the Moz.com crawl engine?

Issue: 301 (Permanent Redirect) with my wordpress

Duplicate Content Issue because of root domain and index.html
SEOMoz crawl diagnostics is suggesting that my root domain and the rootdomain/index.html are duplicate content. What can be done to ensure that both are considered as a single age only?

Merged websites issue
Hi Before my time, company big.com took over company small.com. They decided to replicate big.com web pages onto small.com - so both websites have identical pages and copy, just different domains. Within the small.com sitmap.xml they list only big.com urls. They are also using big.com google analytics tracking code on small.com. I have no idea what happened to the original content on small.com or if they put 301 redirects on. I am thinking: do a 301 redirect on small domain to big domain. A) Agree? Small domain is likely to have valuable historic inbound links which are now going to 404 pages. After I do the 301 should these then appear in big.com SEOMoz campaign and on big.com webmaster tool for me to fix? B) Views? Or should I get up webmaster tool on small.com and fix that first? C) Views? Many thanks in advance guys, sorry its a long statement! Richard

I have a Rel Canonical "notice" in my Crawl Diagnostics report. I'm presuming that means that the spider has detected a rel canonical tag and it is working as opposed to warning about an issue, is this correct?
I know this seems like a really dumb question but the site I'm working on is a BigCommerce one and I've been concerned about canonicalisation issues prior to receiving this report (I'm a SEOmoz pro newbie also!) and I just want to be clear I am reading this notice correctly. I presume this means that the site crawl has detected the rel canonical tag on these pages and it is working correctly. Is this correct?? Any input is much appreciated. Thanks

Truncate page URLs
We have some pages (for example a contact us form) for which the URL is modified by the CMS depending on the referring page (this helps to put the form submission in context for the sales reps who get the contact submission). The SEOmoz crawler considers each URL a new page -- and so numbers like in diagnostics are all inflated as the same page is listed multiple times (e.g. for too many links) Is there a setting to change what the crawler considers to be the same page? How Long For New Keyword Rank Data?
I have a PRO account and added the initial keywords and got the immediate rankings for those. Then I added new keywords and those have not been updated. How long do I have to wait to get Keyword Ranking data on those keywords. I know it says they are updated every Friday, but does that mean I have to wait until next Friday for my first run of data on new keywords?? I ask because I have to present to a client before then and I require the data for that meeting. Any insight is appreciated.
