Removing Non Essential Scripts in WordPress to Boost Speed
-
If this is a duplicate post or someone has already asked this i do apologize. Ive been seeking help in increasing our page speed for sometime now and to no avail. https://tools.pingdom.com/#5e9dc9ab78000000 - Seems our page has just too many scripts which is a drag on the load time. We have a dedicated server and dont think its the issue as other websites on there load just fine.
Something about this website www.catdi.com that just makes it top heavy. I've tried a CDN and that didn't work in fact it made it slower..My question is i believe there's a way to remove, or combine all these scripts that are increasing our load time?

@imagesalons yes it does seem as though you have some major issues with this site. I have tried running a GT Metrix test and it can't complete, see here https://gtmetrix.com/?job_error=NExjlvoc this suggests that something is very CPU heavy or causing errors.
As you are on WordPress you could try disabling plugins and testing the site until you find one that is causing the issue. Then remove/replace it.
If you have good hosting support you might want to reach out to them for guidance too.
Keep us posted on your progress.

Yes, of course. Minify html code and CSS always is going to improve your speed.
Besides, if you remove some non-crucial plugins in WordPress your site will load faster, too.

Best way to get the fastest WordPress site with existing template
I have a WordPress website that I started building for free and eventually paid the $50 bucks for the premium version. My goal right now is to increase the speed. The current speed rating for the site on Google Insights is 60/100 for mobile and 66/100 for desktop. I have used some plugins to help me increase the speed, but the previous number were the best I could do. How can I get this site at least into the 90/100 range? Should I buy another template, or can I hire someone to go through and optimize it. I would like the best option that is as cost effective as possible as this is a hobby site for me. Thanks!

Hi Whats best practice when removing entire site sections from an e-commerce store due to ending those lines and not having similar alternative pages to redirect them too ? Should you remove pages in GWT etc ? Any other measures to prevent probs such as 404 spikes etc ?? Cheers Dan

Moving a site from .cfm to Wordpress - How to keep the authority?
Hi guys, My client has a site built with Cold Fusion (web pages end in .cfm) and we're moving them over to Wordpress (for many reasons), keeping the same menu structure and navigation. Their previous SEO company was pretty awful, however, they did manage to establish some decent authority/backlinks for the website and its 20 or so pages. My questions: I assume I'll want to do 301 redirects for each page, possibly by editing the .htaccess file? Any advice on this? Anything else I need to consider in this move? Thanks!
